Summary: Perfect for my special need.
Review: As a disabled (limited mobility) person I have need for a phone in a location where it is not practical to run a phone line. I have been frustrated by other cordless phones whose battery always seemed to give out when I needed it. With this system I can keep one phone in the remote charging cradle at that location (thus eliminating the battery life problem) and use the other in many convenient ways when in other places away from my regular phone.

Summary: Good Product Value
Review: Bought this phone when we moved into a larger home so we could have access to a phone more easily when not near the base. Programming each phone was very simple and the instructions were easy to follow.

Battery life has been very good for a cordless so far. Sound quality and clarity are above average for a cordless and reception has been very good. We keep one phone on the opposite side of the house from the main base with no problems or issues with sound.

I knew in advance that you could not pick both phones up simultaneously so this was not a factor but transferring calls to the other phone is a big help. Having a rocketdial number on each phone is great and the phones are assigned a number so you know which phone you are dialing from so can actually create two separate address books if you want to.

Belt clip is a nice add-on. The ergonomics of the phone are really nice (it's light weight and fits nicely to your hand).

If I were to try and find one drawback is that each phone has it's own address book and you have to program both separately. But, since that's a one-time deal, it's really not a complaint. You can swap the phones between both bases with no issues. We have other brands of 900 MHZ cordless in the house as well and there is no interference between the different brands. I find the quality of this 900 MHZ to be the best of the ones we own.

Overall, this phone is well worth the money spent and is a great buy and I would (and have) recommended it to someone else.

Summary: VERY VERY FUZZY
Review: Compared to another 900 MHz phone we have that cost about $20 it was terrible. The reception was interuppted by noise everytime you turned your head. I have returned it and am looking for another phone. Want to avoit interferance with a wireless home network

Summary: Poor Reception & Short Battery Life
Review: Having an extra handset and charger certainly seemed like a great idea at the time. In fact, it was the #1 factor in buying these phones. I was confident that they would be of good quality because of a prior good experience with the Uniden brand.

Alas, I'm sorry to report that the range on these phones is woefully substandard. It's literally like being tied down to a regular (corded) phone. The static is absolutely maddening.

Battery life leaves much to be desired. I just got my phones but a friend of mine has been suffering with the same phone for just about a year now and his batteries don't last more than 2 hours. Other users have reported similar problems. Something for me to look forward to, I suppose.

It's worth mentioning that another factor in the decision-making process was that the newer, better 2.4GHz cordless phones were incompatible with my 802.11b wireless internet transceiver. I've been recently informed that's no longer an issue.

And, for what it's worth, the other handset is rendered useless because of the reception issues. Who needs an "extension" that is incapable of "extending." It's like having two phones in the same room. Pointless!

There are much better 900MHz phones out there. Spare yourself the inevitable disappointment and look elsewhere if you need a good cordless phone.

Summary: sent mine back within a week
Review: I got this phone to be able to have two phones without having two jacks, that part of it was great, but everytime I was on the phone with someone the phone would shut itself off. every two minutes or so it would just shut off and you would have to call them back and hope it wouldn't happen again.
As far is the reception, I thought that was great, we always run into reception problems in our house but this phone actually had none.
As far as the battery life goes, as long as the phone would stay on it would run for a long time and charging was quick and simple also.
Perhaps we just got a bad phone and I am thinking of ordering it again and hoping for the best!

Summary: Lots of hissing noise
Review: I've had Uniden 900 MHz phones before, they worked fine. This model produces nothing but static as soon as I'm more than 20 feet away from the base. Do not buy it, however cheap it may seem.

This phone will be returned to Amazon this week.

Summary: I exspected more from Uniden.
Review: I've purchased other Uniden's phones that worked great but this one is junk. I had trouble with reception from the start and had never had a reception problem with any other phones before. The phone then had a habit of disconecting in the middle of a call. The last straw was when the extra headset became useless when nothing worked. It was like it had no battery installed. Checked the battery and nothing was wrong with. The phone went in the garbage as I wasn't going to pay more money on postage.

When the phone did work there was one thing I liked and that was the Rocket Dial feature. Unfortunately it didn't work that often.

Summary: Not Recommended - Very bad reception.
Review: Pros:
1. intuitive design and features- I didnt open the manual but but was able to figure out all of the functions and was able to program numbers easily.
2. cost- it's cheap. 2 phones for the price of one.

Cons:
1. Reception- regardless of how near of far I am to the base, I keep getting an annoying buzz sound. It is really irritating when trying to hold a conversation. The buzzing sound comes and goes but it is driving me nuts. The other cordless phones that I own do not have this problem. The basic function of a phone is so that 2 parties can talk to one another. There shouldn't be any static.

Summary: Remember the one about too good to be true....
Review: The IDEA of these phones is a good one - two units, one phone jack, one unit active at a time so no listening in to conversations... but there is something horrid about the reception. Within a couple of months the static got so bad that folks don't want to call our house any more. I'm looking for something else right now and thought i'd warn the others out there to get something else before it's too late.

Summary: Not bad, but a little deceptive
Review: The main phone and cradle in this set are identical to the Uniden EXI376 cordless phone, which was a Consumer Reports Best Buy.

So far this seems like a pretty nice phone. The reception is clear, it's easy to program, and has some nice features. The extra handset does make it easy to pick up the phone anywhere in the house.

However, the concept is a little deceptive. You can't actually talk on both handsets at the same time. So if two of you want to talk to a caller at the same time, you'll still have to have another phone.
