Summary: Solidly Built Phone with Poor Quality and Functions
Review: Regardless of where the base is located there is a general noise or hiss in sound quality. While I believed this was a flaw with my location or version of the phone I have altered both and it is inherent in the phone.

By far the most annoying 'feature' of this phone is the mute. There is an auditable beeping while on mute that you cannot shut off. While on a conference call this is obnoxious and poorly thought out functionality.

To say something nice this is a solidly built little phone with an easily replaceable headset. Not that I am going to keep it long enough to replace anything.

Summary: Super phone for home use
Review: Because my mother has lymphedema in her "phone arm," I bought her the CT 10 to provide comfort in long phone conversations. Neither she nor I could be more pleased! The phone set up is super easy, and the initial charging only takes a few hours--and you can use the phone while it's charging on the base. The sound quality, both receiving and sending, is magnificent, and the headset and phonepad are so lightweight Mom can easily forget that she's "wearing" them! Also, this phone has marvelous range. Mom's phone's base unit is on the main floor of her house, but she can even use the phone when she's on the treadmill in the cellar.

Though the price may seem a bit steep, the CT 10 is worth every penny. It's much better to spend for quality than to spend for junk. The CT 10 is nothing but quality. We love it!

Summary: The Best
Review: This is an awesome item. The headset is very light weight and the unit clips nicely on you. Very functional & excellent clarity. A must buy!

Summary: Good value and quality product...
Review: Very good sound, easy to set up and very good range for a cordless headset unit... worked fine more than 75 feet from base unit... also in the room adjacent to where the base unit was located. Volume control is a plus.

The headset isn't the smallest in world, but it suffices. Most people will have no difficulty in placing the headset onto their head and adjusting it for a comfortable fit...I am quite pleased with the preformance of this unit... and the price is reasonable too.

Summary: Good phone, but it beeps when muted!
Review: UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: My headset started experiencing problems a year after I bought this phone. I called Plantronics, and they sent me a replacement immediately via 2nd day UPS. I'll send the defective one back once I get new one. Fantastic customer service. I'm keeping this phone, and have also purchased a CT12 for my wife.

This is an excellent phone and headset. I have no problem with the volume as others have described. Quality, reception, features and functionality are all good. The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars is that it beeps when you mute. While this might be ok for personal calls, I use this phone for business calls with many participants and need to mute for long periods of time to keep down the background noise. It just (beep beep) beeps incessently (beep beep) when you're (beep beep) muted on a (beep beep) call and it (beep beep) makes listening (beep beep) just infurating. I (beep beep) called plantronics (beep beep) to see if they (beep beep) disable this (beep beep) feature, but they told me that people need to know that the phone is muted. The phone also has red lite that comes on when muted, so the beeping is redundant.

Great product at a very good price, save for this one terrible and fatal flaw. If you don't need to mute a lot, I recommend this phone. For business calls, look for something else that doesn't beep when muted.

Summary: CT10 ok
Review: I've had the CT10 for well over a year, and while it is very convient I've always had a couple of complaints. As several have mentioned, the volume control does not get loud enough. Also, when muted, there is a beep every second to let you know you are muted but there is no way to over ride that beep. (There is also a red light for mute which is enough of an indication for me -- the beep gets annoying!)

Even with those complaints, the benefits are good enough that I still use it all the time when I work from home.

One other point -- recently the headset wire connection to the handset has been giving me a few problems... It sometimes needs to be wiggled to get a good connection. :-(

Summary: Great Cordless Headset For A Great Price!
Review: Anyone who spends time traveling knows how enjoyable having a device like this is when stuck at an airport of waiting for arrangements after business hours. With this in your oversized business valise you are never going to surrender to boredom, but can pull this out and make a lot of business calls without fear of bothering others or having a hard time hearing the person on the other end. The sound quality is very good, and the other features make it both convenient and easy to use. This is basically a newer, improved version of an older model (the CT-9010 which has greater staying power due to an improved battery and is even more portable based on the design improvements. The dial pad fits in your palm or disappears into you pocket. Plantronics products are very well supported, and the Customer Service is also excellent. They were at the forefront of the headset revolution, and continue to be trendsetters here.

Summary: Really quite good despite all these negative reviews
Review: I almost didn't buy this phone because there were a number of people saying the phone didn't work well, was too quiet, etc.

I am so glad a bought it anyway! When I work from home, it's so much easier to have a headset. The hands free feature is great and the actual keypad is lighter than I thought it would be.

I can completely see why people think the earpiece is too soft; however, once you up the volume (and make sure the headset is on properly) it's plenty loud enough.

I would absolutely buy this phone again. It's most useful while typing, straightening up while I'm on conference calls, and general I-need-to-use-my-hands-but-I'm-holding-the-phone type of call. (especially if conversations end up going 30 minutes plus)

The only downside is the room you're speaking in has to be relatively quiet. If there's a lot of background noise (like the dishwasher, AC, people talking) I find myself unable to hear the person speaking to me on the other end of the line.

Other than that, the phone is great. Hope this helped!

Summary: Good phone but without the headset!
Review: Bought the phone..it's great for work as it is hands-free but I had to substitute the headset with a cell-phone headset as it did not work well and there was some disturbance. With the cellphone headset though, it works great and I love the phone!!

Summary: Almost great
Review: I've used the phone actively for abou 6 months now and overall it has been great. Overall, I highly recommend the phone. However, there are three things that could stand some improvement. 1) its battery life could be longer for those of us who use the phone a lot. I find that I sometimes have to use the phone in the cradle while it recharges because an active day of calling will drain the battery. 2) It does have some issues with volume. At its highest volume setting, it is noticeably not as loud as my other cordless phones. It is probably okay but if you have any sort of hearing problems, it will be too quite for you. 3) The headset can get uncomfortable after a long time on the phone -- but that is why you need speakerphone.
