Rating: Summary: Cheap, Relatively easy to install and Strong Signal Review: I bought the Router included in this kit for $10 on eBay and I own the Blitzz 802.11b USB adaptor too. I used the router to set up a network and share an internect connection with 2 other neighbors in my appartment building. One has a Microsoft Wireless G PC card adptor and the other has a Toshiba laptop with built in Wireless. I also plugged in another computer into 1 of the 4 wired ethernet ports. Everything works perfectly! 2 of us have Windows XP and the other Windows 98. I had the entire netowrk set up within 15 minutes and have had no problems since. The signal strength is suprisingly strong, it passes through several walls and ceilings! I personally have never gotten anything less than a "good" signal in my appartment. It seems as if the router does work better with other bitzz products. For the price and quality, you can't go wrong. Forget about D-Link, Linksys and all that other overpriced junk, my buddy paid $85 for a Linksys router that did the same thing as my $10 Blitzz but produced a weaker signal and was bulkier and uglier!
Rating: Summary: Do you pay for what you get? Review: Yes, in most purchases you get what you pay for, however if the purchase includes a Blitzz wireless networking product you get much less.
At first glance the Blitzz line is a very competitively priced wireless networking alternative. Nice design and mediocre packaging but the name appears to be an out dated attempt to gain street cred with savvy internet users (whom frequently use the words Warez and Appz back in the 90s). The product has an easy enough install package and adequate instructions but things fall apart soon there after.
I have installed several wired and wireless networks with little issues to report; in this case it was a sheer failure. Connectivity was sporadic; when a connection was made it was very weak and required the laptop to be within 8 feet of the router. (Not an effective distance).
If you come across this devil in a box, run don't walk, to a safe, safe place. If Amazon had a lower rating than one, I would have used it.
