Summary: Great funtion and features
Review: I have bought a bunch of different cordless phones over the past several years. These Seimens phones combine the utility of a cell phone with the advantages of a home phone. The handsets are compact and can be carried in a pocket. Reception is outstanding outside but I have experienced slight problems with reception between the base 2120 downstairs and the handset on the second floor about 150 feet away. Otherwise outstanding quality, worth the money.

Summary: Poor sound quality mars potentially great phone set
Review: I concur with "Electronics fan from NJ" who wrote his review on the 2415 base unit, which I also bought: the sound quality is a big problem. Background hiss, feedback (hear yourself talking), and dropouts.Also, all the phone's features are accessed through soft menus. This very modal behavior is difficult for many users. If my wife wants to turn off the ringer on the handset, well, she just puts it under a pillow! Commonly accessed features need dedicated buttons. I am returning the 2415 and 2400 I bought, and going back to my 900 MHz Panasonic.

Summary: Outstanding, except for the batteries.
Review: I bought one to go with my base. It is sleek, light weight, and the security features are excellent. The intercom, and call forwarding to individual handsets, are features I most liked about the system. The built-in spare battery charger is nice too. This system has better sound than the two 900MHz SONY units that it replaces. The only drawback was that the batteries that came with it would not charge, even after 24 hours. I bought NiMH batteries to replace them, they have twice the capacity of NiCads.

Summary: Excellent phone
Review: I bought the 2400 Kit to go along with the 2415 that I bought (phone/answering machine). Easy to set up. Outstanding sound quality. If the battery is completely dead, it charges up completely in about 4 hours. It's the best phone, cordless or corded, that I've ever owned. I don't know what other products Seimens makes, but I'd like to find out!

Summary: Great phone addition
Review: I bought two of these to accompany my main system phone. Registering it to the base is simple but impossible to do without the main system so no need to worry about someone "tapping in!" It's really simple to program and use the directory features. Great sound quality both form myself and the person to whom I am speaking.

Summary: Had to give it to Salvation Army
Review: I have used this system for about a year and now have a base unit and 3 extension units. I've found it reliable, very durable, and easy to use. I appreciate the adjustable volume controls on the handsets. The range and clairity is fantastic. The batteries, though, seem to need constant re-charging. Also, the design discourages balancing the handset on your shoulder and holing it to your ear. But, really, this is a great improvement over the last generation of cordless phones.

Summary: Solid, but not for the Plug & Play Crowd
Review: The title says it all. We purchased two of them for our small business, planning to buy more. One of them stopped functioning after just a couple of days. We returned it for replacement which was done expeditiously. The replacement is still working fine. However, the other one has now gone south. By any standard, this is an unacceptable reliability record. I will buy one more because I like these phones so much. But if the new one craters too, I will be forced to replace them with the bulkier Panasonic phone.

Summary: Great sound, good range, poor durability
Review: We have several Gigaset handsets at work in the network support department. With the base centrally located, we are able talk throughout nearly all of this 28,000 square-foot two-story concrete and steel building, with only a couple of spots that get a bit noisy. The sound quality at this end is nearly equal to a corded phone, and a callers at the other end say it's pretty good too. The convenience is great, we use handsfree headsets, to allow ourselves to be handsfree to work, or not be tied to the desk when on perpetual hold with tech support. It is easy to page and conference other handsets too. However, they have some significant durability problems. We have gone through several handsets in the past year. The belt-clip does not grip well at all, and the phone drops frequently. When the fall is slowed or stopped by a handsfree headset, it can damage the jack it is plugged into, which is only held in place by it's solder pads. When they fall is stopped by the (mostly carpeted) floor, several have stopped functioning properly, some stopped completely. If Siemens could make these MUCH more rugged, or at least supply a cushioned case, then I could easily recommend these. Until then, be careful with them, and keep the receipt. Normally vendor extended warranties are a bad investment, but for these, it's not a bad idea.
