Summary: Piece of Junk
Review: Beware - This phone was not abused and it only lasted 13 months. For the price paid, it should last longer than this. When it was working, the batteries did not last as long as in my other cordless phones. I noticed that another reviewer had the same problem with their Toshiba phone. I will not buy another Toshiba cordless phone.

Summary: Great phone!
Review: Don't be misled by the "stars" rating - if you read the reviews, one person bought the wrong phone and now he's mad. This phone has all the features I need and it doesn't cost a fortune. The caller ID display is kinda small, so if you have bad eyesight you might want a different phone.

Summary: Very Pleased buyer
Review: I am not the least bit mechanical, so assembling this phone scared me. Now that I've done it I feel like an idiot - it was a snap. The phone has excellent sound and I haven't experienced any static, snapping, or anything else. The sound is absolutely clear and it's the same for people I'm talking to. Be sure to follow the set-up directions and look at the pictures - I didn't notice that the phone goes into the cradle face up - important when charging the battery (there are two sent - good for Toshiba!) I am extremely pleased.

Summary: Just returned my Toshiba SG1000
Review: I came here hoping to find a unit to replace my Toshiba SG1000. So I wanted to compare user ratings for it vs. others as a benchmark. So I see the Toshiba is getting better ratings than most others. It's a wonderful unit, has a comfortable feel, but noise problems heard by caller and receiver, no matter how far the phone is from the base unit, made this far more annoying than an old AT&T 900 digital I used to use. I tried unpluggin the unit, as the manual suggested. No difference. Battery life seemed excellent. But the occasional, yet everpresent, noises (clicks and subtle pops and static) were annoying and unprofessional for both caller and receiver. I can only assume these noises occur when the phone changes frequencies - a function of digital spread spectrum, but one that I did not experience with the old AT&T phone.

Summary: Excellent phone
Review: I did a lot of research on 2.4 GHz phones before purchasing the SG1000BK. Only a few phones such as the SG1000BK are able to send and receive in 2.4 GHz. The Panasonic phones look nicer but they only receive in 2.4 GHz. The handset sends out in 900 MHz! If phone line security is a top priority, and it should be, be sure the phone you consider both sends and receives in 2.4 GHz. I've had the SG1000BK for several weeks now. It works flawlessly and I'm glad I bought it.

Summary: One Problem
Review: I was disappointed to find out that you can not turn off the ringer on this phone. I actually called Toshiba to see how to turn the ringer off and the customer service representative said that they get that question at least 15 times a day and that it is just not possible with this phone. So, I have no idea if the phone works well or not because I had to return it

Summary: Great Phone!
Review: I've been searching for a couple of months now for a digital cordless phone with Caller ID on the phone that works well. This is the third manufacturer I've tried, and I'm very satisfied. The phone features and menus operate in a easy-to-use fashion, which I thought you don't see much anymore. Including a second battery was very considerate of them. Making it easily accessible showed brilliance. Using it as a base unit power failure backup power supply was nothing short of genius. I am pleased, thrilled, and amazed. Great Phone!

Summary: Great phone
Review: Just got it yesterday and I love it. Not as pretty as the Panasonic 2.4ghz but it has all of the features I wanted (a redial button and call display) for a very reasonable price. And the range is great!

Summary: Great phone, still going strong...
Review: Regardless as to what anyone else says, this phone is great. My roommates would always leave it off the charger, and to this day I have never had battery problems. My only complaint is that it takes a little bit longer for the caller id to come up in comparision to other phones. Otherwise, this is a great phone that has consistently provided a clear connection for over a year now...
