Summary: Unwieldy user interface
Review: I was not happy with this phone and returned it. I found the answering machine to be very clumsy. After listening to messages, I would push erase, and the machine would say, "Press erase to blah, blah, blah." I would press erase again, and it would say something similiar. I had to press erase three times just to erase messages. At my house, I lose electricity often due to thunderstorms, and resetting the clock on this thing was very obscure. I had to use the manual every time as you must reset the clock from the handset. The keystrokes were impossible to know without the manual, and the machine did not have a built in guide like many do. The phone quality itself was nothing impressive. Static, with an unusual timber to the person's voice that made it sound pinched. I have never had a Panasonic product that satisfied me, and was once again reminded of why I have bought nothing of theirs in over a decade.

Summary: Sophistication without complication.
Review: I've had this phone for about a month now. One of the things that I really like about it is the ease of using it. I got home from work and plugged it in to charge. Like most cordless phones, it has to charge for 18 hours when you first get it. My two teenage sons decided to plug it in for use while I was at work the next day and it has worked like a champ since. I never even had to record a greeting for the answering machine. It has an automatic one. You can record your own greeting if you want to, but it's not necessary. The next thing that surprised me was when I actually got to use the phone for the first time. I was expecting that slight static sound that was always there with my previous cordless, but this phone is surprisingly clear. Very clear. It still surprises me each time I use it. This phone was very easy to program and the answering machine is really easy to use. No special degree required. (grin) If your world is as hectic as mine and you don't have time to fool with complicated electronic stuff, I'd definitely recommend this phone. It has a nice, modern look that says "I'm very sophisticated", but is surprisingly VERY user friendly.

Summary: Buyer beware
Review: If you purchase this product, I hope you are completely satisfied. It is my opinion that the reliability of Panasonic products has slipped in recent years, and this was confirmed to me when a product I purchased quickly failed. The reason I'm posting this is to warn you that the warranty that accompanies Panasonic products only has value if the company chooses to stand behind it. In my case, they weaseled out of it, leaving me with a total loss and no further recourse. Good luck with your decision.

Summary: Great value
Review: In the past 3 weeks, I have returned 4 phones (2 Uniden, GE, & Vtech). For this price range, I have found this phone to be superior to the other 4 that I had purchased. Uniden had the easist set-up and menu system by far, but everything else goes to the Panasonic (reception, clarity, digital recordings, range, etc.)This 900 mhz phone actually performs better than 2 of the other 2.4 ghz phones that I bought. The only thing that I which it had was a lighted message display like all the other phones on the market. It could also use a ringer on the base unit. I would certainly recommend this phone for the money. FYI, the Vtech 2468 was the worst of the bunch.

Review: Nice design, very easy to use. As simple as these things get. Easy to pickup messages remotely. Message indicators and voice prompts are excellent. Messages left on the system are of good quality. The prerecorded greeting is also of good quality. But if you want to record your own greeting, it sounds like you are talking with an echo. Still usable, but prevents what would otherwise be a perfect rating.

Summary: An excellent, simple phone!
Review: Out of all the products I have purchased on Amazon, not one will I write a review. This cordless phone is comfortable against the ear for someone who uses the phone a lot. The answer machine is great. It has it's own greeting: short and simple. If you don't like it, you can record your own greeting. Overall the phone is easy to use and to set up.

Summary: Leaves lots to be desired
Review: Playback quality of messages is muddy sounding - you have to listen very hard to hear what people are saying. Transmission of your voice to the party you are speaking with is also poor. People complain of a distant quality to the voice. They wonder if you are on a speakerphone. Answering machine sometimes cuts off people leaving messages after a few seconds. have owned this phone for over 6 months now Looking for a new one

Review: The answering machine is fine, however the static on the phone is terrible! When I talked to other people on this phone, they said that as I talked the static got worse. I would not recommend this product unless you LOVE static!

Review: The only reason that it didn't get 5 stars is because it isn't too comfortable next to the ear on longer conversations. Other than that, it's great.

Summary: Best Basic Plus
Review: This is my first experience in many years in finding a first class telephone and answering machine in one! It's a great find, both in functionality and pricing. I was afraid the instructions were going to be complicated and the phone would end up in some corner of my basement, unused forever. To my great relief and amazement, the directions were straighforward, the procedures for preparing the answering function, speed dialing, etc. were very simple. The weight of the phone itself is pretty comfortable. When using the speaker feature, the voice is clear, no static, no problems. I love my new purchase and strongly recommend it!
