Summary: Junk
Review: Biggest piece of junk I've encountered. Both I and my brother inlaw bought this phone...both only lasted a year.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: very reliable, gives lots of distance from terminal
Review: Having this phone is not about being able to see how far you can actually walk away and not get static sounds when you are too far away. The service that it gives with the digital messages is what amazes me the most. I can quickly breeze through any any and all of my messages and erase them even faster. If I choose to I can turn the ringer off if I choose not to take calls and the message machine picks up, recording messages for as long as 18 minutes and the memory has a capacity of any where from 36 to 54 messages capacity. I highly recommend this phone and hope that you enjoy using it as much as I have.

Summary: Phone looks good but will not last very long.
Review: I have owned my phone for almost a year when the baseunit stopped charging the handset. I have spoke with several other owners of this phone and they had the same trouble. I could not find a schematic to trouble shoot the phone so I went out and bought a new cordless phone with answering machine.

Summary: Would Look For Something Else Next Time
Review: I have owned this phone for a little over a year. My experience has been rather mixed. The batteries are still working fine and phone conversation voice quality is clear. The large lit on/off switch makes it easy to know if the answering machine is on. It does have a handset locator button along with those for volume control, time/date, menu, erase message, and recording memo. However, it could have been more user friendly. To turn off the ringer in the base unit as well as the handset, you have to go thru the programming menu, where a switch would be have been far better. So you'd better not lose your user's manual. As far as the three voice message boxes, to me this is a redundant feature of little use. An important disadvantage is that incoming messages are sometimes garbled and hard to understand. The microphone used to record the outgoing message also distorts your voice so you tend to sound like a person on a little bit of laughing gas. The only solution for me was to speak with a much deeper voice to compensate. This makes me sound like a spy disguising his voice, but it is less distracting to a caller. Based on its performance, this product is overpriced. If I ever need to replace it, I would not get another one.

Summary: not bad for the $
Review: I haven't had the problems with this phone others have claimed having. I find the phone to be well made, and very durable (if not a bit too heavy) And while it is true that base speaker quality is poor, you can still understand the message quite easily, and I haven't had any problems with messages dropping off. As for sound quality of the phone itself, it rates 7-8 on a 10 scale. My complaint (in contrast with other feedback) is that the handheld is too loud, even on it's quietest setting.

However, it is comfortable to hold, and gets the job done without cluttering up the handheld with 30+ buttons. Battery life exceeded my expectations (no problem there) As for range, I can walk to the other end of my block and still carry on a conversation. So, if you want a decent phone for a decent price, go ahead and purchase this one. -Hope this helps...

Summary: I Am Throwing This Phone Away! :-((
Review: I needed a combo answering machine and speaker phone and cordless phone. I have suffered for 1 1/2 years and can't stand it any more. The phone is terribly didtorted and unusable when it is in a bad mood, and the answering machine frequently fades out completely.

Now believe it or not, I own 2 of these monstrosities due to the nature of my business. I am trying to find a substitute ASAP!

Summary: No problems with this phone.
Review: I've had this phone for more than 3 years and have had no problems with it. It has never ran out of battery. Answering maching sounds fine and the menu isn't that hard to use.

Summary: piece of junk!
Review: Noisy reception. Horrible UI. Stop charging the handset after 1 year.

Summary: Phone looks good but will not last very long.
Review: One of the problems with these kinds of phones is that manufacturers will cut corners with the battery or recharge mechanism to get a lower price point. As a consumer, what you think is a great deal turns into a paper weight far too rapidly.

I have had this phone for under a year, and the handset starts to fade after being out of the cradle for 10 minutes. After 1 hour on standby, it is likely that it will not be able to communicate with the base station, or it will not transmit your voice well.

Lastly -- the UI for setting the clock and other settings is terrible. You can't do it without the instruction book. I give that a design grade of: F-

No more sony phones for me. I have had lots of luck with wireless 900 mhz phones by GE however.
