Summary: Great Phone!
Review: I have never had a problem with this phone. It has everything I'd been looking for with excellent quality. The battery stays charged longer than any other phone I've had too! I can honestly recommend this phone to anyone.

Summary: Ya Gotta set it up RIGHT!
Review: I recently purchased a Uniden EXAI8965 cordless phone which is the same as the EXAI8995 without the answering module. In response to the negative reviews, particularly "echoes": You MUST set-up any cordless phone (any battery driven phone) AS INSTRUCTED-charge it for at least 18 hrs. UNINTERUPTED so that all the components, (particularly the capacitors) are fully charged and stabilized. Using it BEFORE this can result in only partially and unevenly charged caps that may degrade performance. To say that you must accept echoes with digital or spread spectrum 900MHz phones is untrue. Call the mfr. before returning the unit if you otherwise like the features. Also the mics on some speakerphones are located on the bottom of the unit; if unit is sittng on a hard surface (like glass)echoes can occur-try moving it nearer edge of table or putting it on a magazine, blotter etc. Finally, letting the battery completely discharge and then doing it "Right" (charging-as above) might cure all. Anyway the sound clairity and all features of my EXAI8965 are flawless. I hope these tidbits are helpful to someone.

Summary: Not worth it
Review: In less than a month, most of the buttons letters or numbers faded away. The message recording sounds like the messages are in Suahili and the volume adjustment is almost not existant.
Nothing good about this unit.

Summary: hmmmm
Review: Not only did i see this phone 10 bucks cheaper at Circuit City which really is 20 bunks after shipping, but its also not working properly. too large in size, echos, bad reach ( i got problems even only 10 yards away from the base station), speaker does not work well etc. all-in-all i wish i would have never bought it.

Summary: Lousy sound quality
Review: The sound quality of this phone makes it useless. People can barely understand you if you are on the speaker phone. There is even an echo like sound when you talk. Very unhappy with this phone.

Summary: Uniden Scores with a Good Value
Review: The Uniden is a full featured 900 MHz phone, offering caller ID, an answering machine, and an LCD driven speed dialer.

Unlike the Panasonic, you can record names and phone numbers to speed dial. No need to remember that memory + 5 is your favorite pizza establishment. Instead, you punch it in, scroll down the LCD list on the handset, and dial at the touch of a button. Sony offers the same feature with its jog wheel.

Range and sound quality are quite adequate, though sound is slightly bettered by the Panasonic. One of the areas that the Uniden falls a bit short is in regard to its appearance. It's somewhat clunky looking and the antenna extruding from the base is connected with an ugly bare metal connecting rod. Also, while caller ID works well enough (Sony's sometimes work.....sometimes doesn't), you are not notified of a new call with a flashing light, unlike the Sony and Panasonic.

The Uniden is slightly cheaper than competing models produced by Sony and Panasonic. Yet, it performs well and should be considered by anyone considering a combo caller ID and answering machine system.
