Summary: Small, but has its faults
Review: I really like this phone. It is very compact, light, and has great reception. The included headset is very useful when you want to talk on the phone and do stuff around the house. The headset has great sound and reception as well. Deffinetely the best phone I ever bought for the money.

Summary: Nice phone but horrible QA forced me to return three of them
Review: I tried three different VT 1421's, and all of them had defective headset jacks. The audio quality was OK, but since the included headset wouldn't work, it was pointless to keep the phone. I would recommend sticking to an older vTech 900 mHz digital phone like the 1930, which has worked fine for me so far for over a year. If the Quality of these phones were only better, the small size and decent clarity would have made it a keeper. Oh well.

Summary: Small and handsfree but menu setting is tiresome
Review: I use the headset on this phone all the time--it's great! I had no problems with the headset, and I find it very comfortable and easy to wear. If you need write or type at the same time as talking on the phone, then consider buying this phone. It also keeps the crick out of your neck if you like to talk for a long time. The reception has always been good to me, but I've never wandered further than 40 feet from the base. I've had few problems with it. The microphone on the headset is very sensitive, but you can mute it while talking, if you press the OK button. The only problem that I've had with the phone is the tedious menu settings for programming and recalling redial and "speed dial". It's not a huge problem, but it slows you down.

Summary: Big Things come in little packages
Review: I was pleased with this product. As I played with it, I found new functions here and there. I often find it very annoying and rude when people look through your CID and telephone address book, and this little piece of power eliminates those options to someone who does just that. I also find it very neat for it to have different ring types. This cordless phone reminds me of a cell phone, and just as small as one. I also like how you can redial the numbers with a list of your last 5 dialed numbers. FLAWS: The screen is extremely small, making it a little difficult to preview numbers and the names. It could have been a little bigger. I also don't like the skimpy antena. If you put more than a little bit of pressure to it, you can snap and bend it. But other than that, this phone is fun, cute, and convenient.

Summary: Excellent phone with few flaws
Review: Let's face it, no product is going to please everyone. I bought this phone for it's small size, so the menu access (which I feel was necessary to keep it this small, and yes it can be a pain at times) was worth the tradeoff. With it's display features, you use this phone differently. Before you open the line, you key in the sequence (either manually, or menu driven), then when you go on-hook the phone dials whatever is shown in the display. Great feature, as it allows a recheck for accuracy before dialing. It has good range and excellent clarity for a non-spread-spectrum design. Like so many other users, I thought the headset/jack was defective until I had the guts to really push hard to get the plug seated all the way. I'm certain this is why everyone is complaining about defective headset jacks, which is not the case. The supplied headset is excellent... comfortable, loud and clear with good noise cancelling. The battery pack is state-of-the-art, at 580mAh Ni-mH in a AAA size (3-cells) with good run-time, although they should have included a spare pack for the base charger as standard equipment. A charged pack in the base serves as power backup during a power outage, a nice feature. If you have to have dedicated buttons for redial, speed dial, etc, then look elsewhere (for a larger phone) because it's size precluded such conveniences. But, if you want to drop the phone in your shirt pocket and use the headset, this phone is a five star!

Summary: Bought it, returned it.
Review: Like another reviewer, I found that the headset jack was defective. This was 50% of my reason for buying the phone, so I returned it. Also, the sound quality was adequate, but not great. There was a constant background of white noise. I wish it had worked, because it combines some great features.

Summary: Headset faulty
Review: Loved the size...but the headset would only work if it was placed just perfectly...and of course don't move at all once it's in. Sound quality wasn't as good as I expected from the handset. Going to have to take it back.

Summary: Looks cool, but performance and features are weak
Review: Range on this phone is somewhat disappointing... even just 50 feet away, I noticed dropouts and the occasional "Out of Range" indicator. The phone's microphone is way oversensitive, even holding it against my face would cause annoying feedback - there is also an excessive amount of background noise. The menus are a pain. Redialing is a 3 or 4 step process. It would have been nice if a dedicated "redial" button were included. For $100, you could probably do a lot better unless you're going on looks alone. In that respect, it's a great phone.

Summary: Nice size, just adequate sound quality
Review: The backlighting is nice and it's nice that the phone tells you when an extension is in use. What's annoying about the phone is you have to go through menus to get to the memory feature, so it actually takes more button presses than dialing the number itself (still handy if you forget phone numbers). One thing that really disappointed me is that the sound is interrupted during conversations every so often, just for a split second. I expected better from a digital 900MHz phone. decent range though, and its small size is a plus. I had no problems with the headset- it's surprisingly comfortable.
