Summary: Great design but low battery time and interference
Review: I have had this for a few years. It is a great looking phone. Answering machine is flawless...once you figure out how to use it...
Problem is battery life. Charge, charge and it still dies on a call. Plus it interferes with our wireless modenm so we unokug it while we are at home. That makes it a very expensive paperweight!

Summary: Sleek, nice sound, but poor durability
Review: I loved the styling and sound of the Gigaset but after just a week or two the display on the unit stopped working. The rechargeable battery wouldn't charge some of the time either. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this unit. If you feel the need to buy it though, hang on to the receipt and box and don't be surprised if you find yourself returning it shortly after.

Summary: Great new entry from Siemens
Review: I tried out a Siemens cordless for the first time while on a trip to Europe last year. I was impressed by the quality of the phone, and so I purchased a Siemens cordless here when i needed a new phone and found out that they were sold in the states. I have been thoroughly impressed with this phone since i purchased it. It is light and compact, yet still easily cradeled. Additionally, the Caller ID database is very helpful. My only wish is that the keypad were lighted. Excellent sound quality, battery life, and ergonomics. I highly recommend this phone. i will be purchasing the additional handsets in the near future-a great feature.

Summary: Good phone - kills batteries
Review: I've owned this phone for a couple of years and everything works fine except it recharges batteries at a very high charging current which basically kills batteries in short order. Even using the recommended high charge rate Panasonics, they generally only last a six months before being able to sustain a charge

Summary: A great phone but with some problems
Review: Let me start by saying that I really like the phone and bought the extra handset as well. The phone has a 50 number call log and you can build your directory fairly quickly by simply selectively saving entries in the call log to the directory. You can also send the entire directory to another handset and it will save the unique entires in it's directory. So far as I can figure you can sync two phones by sending each directory to the other. The phone is ergonomically light and extremely well designed. Pair it with a Plantronics M175 headset, hang it on your belt and you've got a hard to beat handsfree phone. There's a 5 number redial function and the menu system is very intuitive and easy to use. The phone uses the usual multiple press keyboard to enter alpha data but it's timed so you must press the key 1, 2 or 3 times quickly to get an alpha character. It then automatically moves to the next character. At first I had trouble getting the timing down but after you do about 2 or 3 entries it's really easy and fast. The quality of the voice is excellent. Now for the problems... I had to reposition the base unit three times before I could eliminate some bad static problems. Every once in a while one of the units acts up and I suspect it may be related to the battery going low. Caller ID and Call Waiting ID don't always work! Sometimes the unit simply doesn't display the caller ID or says unavailable when my caller ID box will display the number correctly. I don't know if this is related to static problems, (the battery again?) or what. I'm going to call their technical support line and see what they say. Some people complained that the phone sounds like I'm in a tunnel but others have said it's clear as a bell so this maybe another intermittent problem. Overall I really like the phone system and if I could work out these few kinks I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the unit.

Summary: Stay away
Review: Like so many others, we've experienced the "underwater" problem. I called Siemens, only to learn that the toll-free number has been changed to a toll number. When I contacted them, I was told that the problem is a persistent one in the handset. I could return it (it's still under warranty), but there is no guarantee that they would agree to replace it, since it's an "old" model (as if that should make a different for a product purchased a few months ago). So the product itself is defective, and the service is terrible. Evidently, they wish to go out of business soon, and I hope they do.

Summary: Nice Styling, Poor Sound, Poor Recharging Circuitry
Review: The most expensive and the most disappointing of a long line of cordless phones I've owned and operated in Manhattan, including an analog model from Sony and digital models from AT&T and Panasonic.

High marks on looks, but this model has very poor sound quality -- comparable to last-generation walkie-talkies. (I can't count the number of times callers have asked if they'd reached me on my cell phone!) I also found the interface less than intuitive, requiring *three* button clicks to simply redial a number. I should also note that from day one I've experienced extrememly inconsistent recharging cycles.

Perhaps rural or suburban dwellers will experience better sound quality, but I counsel city folk to stay away from this unit.

Summary: Great phone, well worth the price
Review: This phone is fantastic. Clear as a bell, works all around the house. The only feature I miss (from the 900MHz Spread Spectrum it's replacing) is the voice mail message waiting notification. I've read the other reviews, and can only say I'm in the very positive side. The base is on the 2nd floor with a handset. I've got another handset on the first floor. No buzz, no hiss, no snap, no crackle and no pop . Mine is a re-manufactured unit that supposedly only had the software updated to the latest. It does have features that are NOT in the manual and are contrary to what some other reviewers have said. For example, the caller id DOES show up while the phone is ringing. It hasn't missed one yet that I know about. It's call log is the same as my AT&T caller ID box. You can re-name the base station or handset. You can set it to only go to one base station or try for 2 different base stations, etc. I don't know why some folks are having problems with their units, but I'm not one of them. Great phone, well worth the price.
