Summary: OK phone
Review: It runs out of "juice" quite often and the caller id doesn't always work.

Summary: Very good product
Review: I've had this set for over a year now, and have had great success. I have walked outside to my streetside mailbox (about 100 yards) and did not lose the signal. Signal strength for me has been outstanding, as has call clarity.

I have had only a single issue with the phone, and that is the inexplicable resetting of the answering machine to "Default Message, unable to take messages at this time". It appears to be associated with power outages, such that maybe a blackout or brownout (or a power-on spike) is resetting the device's answering machine settings. But, a quick reset and everything is back in order.

I love the system, have two extension handsets which have also not given any difficulty, and heartily recommend this phone.

Summary: The worst phone ever!
Review: I was really excited about this phone for about a week. It has amazing features and is the best designed phone around. On the outside that is. Apart from the constant static (especially when NEAR the base unit...) it scrambles your voice. The other party hears you coming in and out, like a bad analog cell phone. The problem is you hear them well and so you have no idea when you are leaving messages for others that they only get half of every second word you say... Now this only happens when you call them, never when receiving calls. Also it doesn't happen always. In the beginning I just put the receiver back on the base and dialed again and it was fine, but now it happens more and more often and even after putting the receiver back on the base it happens again. I've replaced the batteries, I deregistered the receiver, reregistered it and it still happens. You just never know when. Imagine holding 30 minutes for the cable company to find out they can't hear what you're saying... I am really surprised that a company like Siemens is producing such a piece of (...)
If you still want this phone, you can have mine, just pay for shipping!

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE
Review: I purchased the 2415 base unit along with two satellite phones. The base unit handset cannot find the base half the time (constantly states: "Searching") even when its sitting in the base unit!

The base unit answering machine is very unpredictable, cutting people off frequently in the middle of their message.

As well, another satellite phone will produce a "choppy" voice for people on the other end.

READ THIS REVIEW AND THE OTHERS ON THIS LIST!! Isn 't it funny that the SAME problems keep coming up over and over again? This is a very POORLY constructed product(...)

Summary: the **ABSOLUTE** most fustrating phone - EVER.
Review: I build computers and am a very technical person. Yet, I've never been SO upset over something so stupid - like this Siemens phone! I couldnt even read more than 50% of the reviews on this site, before getting so sick to my stomach that I just had to vent and write my own experience.

6 phones ladies and gentlemen, SIX PHONES. (...) I just DONT get it. Tonight the phone has decided to leave me for dead - it (...) out on me. I am furious. So furious that I threw the phone against the wall, smashing it into pieces. Maybe NOW, when I send this junk back to Siemens for the SEVENTH time, they will understand my fustration.

Maybe they repair the ones I smash and sell them for new, I dont know. I can tell you this though, EVERY Siemens phone will have reception problems EVENTUALLY. For sure, within 6 months, expect the call to start clipping out like a strobe. What made it worse this time, was that the speaker for the ringer started to distort and give me problems. So, I broke it.

I think I will have Siemens ship me an original box, that way I can just send it back and exchange it for something that WILL act as phone.

Summary: Three Returned, All Broken - Siemans Couldn't Help
Review: I loved this phone. LOVED it. I even sprung for two more extension handsets to go with it.

On day two, the answering machine stopped working. It just wouldn't pick up the phone. I called Siemans before returning the phone to the store (as instructed by the giant STOP! sign that comes packaged in the box.) After a lengthy reset procedure, they were baffled, too.

I exchanged the phone. The second answering machine answered the phone, but then hung up on callers, without even playing a message. After the same lengthy call to Sieman's and many calls back from them, once again they were baffled. "The odds must be a million to one that you'd have two defective ones," they said. "Try one more."

I did. It didn't work, either. Same problem.

Siemans blamed the telephone wiring in my new home. The old answering machine worked there, the new Siemans cordless phones worked there, and a different manufacturer's answering machines work there. This ain't my house's fault.

The phone is just junk.

Spend your money on something else.

Summary: Rapidly decreasing satisfaction...
Review: This phone was purchased about 18 months ago. Initially, it's capabilities and performance were very impressive. I don't need to tell you all of what they are, they've been ennumerated previously! After about six months, I noticed that the buttons on the receiver were becoming difficult to activate (push, no beep). This problem became increasingly worse, but I didn't get it into Siemens before the year was up. So I thought the solution would be to purchase one of the Model 2400 auxillary units, use that receiver as the primary and relegate the other to someplace it could be used to intercom, etc. Initially this solution worked; but only for about three months. Then the second receiver started malfunctioning; people would say "you're breaking up, etc." Just looked at the other receiver and now it's display is going bad! Siemens makes some sophisiticated communications equipment, but these Gigasets leave a lot to be desired in quality control (and they are made in the US!!!). I'd avoid it!

Summary: unacceptable static
Review: I decided to gamble on buying this phone, as I was uncertain if the other reviewers had followed the R.T.F.M. principle. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the bad reviews. The sound quality is atrocious. As an engineer, I find it difficult to understand why the Siemens engineers would release such a product without thorough testing. I also called technical support, tried the de-register / re-register, and several locations for the base unit, switched off appliances, all to no avail. In addition, the base unit emitted a humming noise which was unacceptable. Hence, I promptly returned my phone.

The aesthetic design of the phone is very appealling, and unlike anything else on the market. I wish other manufacturers would take note and remove the clutter of buttons.

Summary: works until warranty ended
Review: I purchased this phone just over a year ago, and it worked fine until about 2 months ago. It had the best range of any 2.4g that I have seen. However, now I cannot have a phone conversation longer than 5 minutes, because after that, my sound to the other party sounds like a strobe effect and they are unable to understand me. I then have to switch to my wife's $19 on special 5 year old phone that still works to this day. I have contacted Siemens, yet they state that there is nothing that can be done because it is out of warranty. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!

Summary: Beware of Siemens mail-in rebate offers
Review: I purchased the Siemens Gigaset 2415, a great phone and answering machine with easy to use features. Its in-city away from the base range is as good as, but no better than, any other 900 Mhz cordless phones. Watch out for Siemens mail-in rebate offers with any of its phone products. ...
