Summary: Keep the headset, throw away the base
Review: If you haven't noticed this phone as a whole [...stinks], however the headset is good and works well with the working base stations. So get this one, and chunk the base, and you have a cheap replacement head set. Oh be sure to replace the NiCd batteries with NiMH ones. The same headset alone costs $149, this is the same one but only cost $49.99.

Summary: BUYER BEWARE!!! This is an AWEFUL Product.
Review: I am writing this review because I purchased this product about a year ago with an additional handset and I finally just had to buy an entire new Uniden system because of the problems with this System. I experienced all of the problems listed in the various reviews... People constantly saying "I cannot hear you" even though you can hear them. This problem started after 6 months of ok use. One handset went out in the first month of use. We sent it back to Siemens and they replaced it with a "Refurbished" handset. My guess is the refurbished unit was a handset sent back to them that they fixed and sent back out to us. This was an aweful experience. I really liked the design and the concept and even though many reviews said there were problems I purchased it anyway. That was my fault and my mistake. I urge you not to make the same mistake as I did. Because the phone (and the headache) is in my garbage. Unfortunately for me this is not a cheap phone system and it is totally not worth taking the chance of buying it because it looks cool.

Summary: Great Sound and Design-- if only it worked like it should
Review: This was said to be the best cordless phone on the market, so tired of suffering through inferior ones, I decided to go for it. I couldn't be more impressed with the size and the design and the sound quality is the best I've ever heard. However, there are two major flaws:(1) Caller ID only registers about 1/2 the time, at best. My other phones never screw up in this regard, but this is annoying for our primary phone. (2) The answerer records *every* hangup. The ability to filter out hangups was fixed in the mid 1980's as I recall, but they failed to install said technology on this phone. When I called technical support, their answer was "no phone has the ability to do that." What on earth? As a result, I would only recommend the Siemens phone to those who don't need an answerer or care about Caller ID. As for me, I guess it's back to the drawing board to find a better phone!

Summary: Utter Piece of Junk
Review: I have one of these, even invested in an extra handset. If you enjoy hearing people whom you are calling constantly remarking, "I can't hear you, you're breaking up," this is the phone for you. I've replaced batteries, moved the base station, researched the instructions, etc. My conclusion is that Siemens is an extremely [bad] brand on which I will never waste money again. Also that 2.4ghz is virtually pure hype, a con designed to extract a few more dinero from those who hope to benefit from an upgrade.

Summary: I do not like this phone.
Review: I have not liked this phone from day one. It was way too expensive for the quality. First, it is supposed to be able to have a long range distance - I had more range distance on a plain, cheap GE cordless phone that I had before this one. Second, the caller ID on this model is horrible. It only picks up approximately every other person's incoming phone # (I have another phone in my house with caller ID and it picks up almost all incoming #'s.) Also, the hand set is not backlit so forget trying to call in the dark! Finally, I have only had this expensive piece of junk slightly over a year and I dropped it the other day and now it is totally dead! The only thing I really liked about this phone was the digital answering machine. I would NOT recommend anyone buying this phone! I am gonna try a Pansonic this time!

Summary: Nice phone, poor button life
Review: We first got the Gigaset because of the attractive look and extensive features. The sound is adequate, but not excellent by any means. Also, I get better range from my 900MHz. I replaced the rechargeable AAs with NiMH AAs and got much better life out of the phone, not range though. As for the buttons, after about 3 months of normal use, they have become VERY hard to push, causing us to miss phone calls sometimes because we can't pick it up. Tried exchanging handsets, but it happened with all of them. I think the new 4200 model took care of this issue. Overall, we're happy with the phone, but I would suggest new 4200 series instead, solely because of the button issues.

Summary: ALEXANDER BELL HAD A BETTER PHONE!
Review: Got this phone after 2 days it broke. You could not hear the people on the other end, voices sounded warbly, once you left 2 inches from the phone, the call would cut off. Also phone was tooooo complicated with too many buttons, numbers, memos, etc. A horrible phone. Called Siemens they did a test and said you have a bad phone. Bought another one same model, had the same problem. 5 stars for Amazon however refunding me immediately. Bought the second one at a competing store to see if that would make any difference, it didn't. Also handset felt clumsy in hand. End of story,...DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!...

Summary: Siemens 2415 is unreliable
Review: Siemens has had to replace my new 2415 twice (so far). The first phone dropped calls and the party on the other end of the line constantly complained of static. On the second phone, the handset display quit working within 5 days. Product replacements are rebuilt units, and customer support tells met that Siemens no longer manufactures this unit and cannot deliver a new one, and they refuse to refund my purchase (FYI-the phone was not purchased at Amazon).

Summary: Buyer Beware
Review: My phone was purchased in May 2001 and first went wrong in September and then again in December. Unless you are willing to pay and additional $25 to get a replacement you have to wait for them to send you a box, return the faulty phone and wait for them to send you a replacement. Note I didn't say NEW because they reserve the right to send you a refurbished unit which has a sticker stating No Warranty. My unit also came with one corroded battery rendering it useless. All in all the phone and service are totally useless and Siemens customer service is useless

Summary: Great product, a few problems
Review: I have used the 2415 and 3 x 2400 for over 6 months now and I'm very satisfied. I read the mixed reviews prior and was crossing fingers. Overall, I really like the system as it works like a cell phone. I like the design (VERY easy to use and hold), the ability to default to 1010xx long distance provider, the intercom & call transfer and the directory (along w/ ability to transfer entries between phones).
My wife has a very soft voice and people regularly comment how great she sounds on this phone. Now for the problem areas:
(1) "Choppy" voice, where intermittently the listener would complain they can't hear us as our voice is choppy. We can hear them though. Switching to another phone solves the problem. All 4 sets have exhibited the problem over time, maybe 1 in every 50 to 100 calls. I tried various base locations to no avail. It didn't missbehave the last few months, thus the 4 stars.
(2) Not enough local area code programming ability: I can only program 4 local area codes (other will use my preset 1010xx long distance). I need 5 in the Chicago area, going to 6 quickly! FYI, my house has 3 floors, 3 computers on a wired network, laptop on wireless netwrok 802.11b WIFI (also using the 2.4 GHz band ... not a problem) and TV's + 5:1 sound systems.
