Summary: Excellent cordless phone!
Review: I ordered this phone to replace my AT&T 900MHz cordless phones. The Siemens phone has a much more streamline shape than the AT&T phone has some really great features like a built-in directory. The sound quality and range is much better - thanks probably to the 2.4 GHztechnology. The best feature is the ability to have multiple (up to four) phones connected to the same base station. This is a cordless phone *system* as opposed to just buying a number of cordless phones each having to have a base station that has to plug into the wall.If you buy this phone, you won't be disapponted!

Summary: trasmit distance not to spec
Review: The specs say 150 feet indoors and 1000 feet outdoors. I can barely get 100 feet outdoors. Also, I think that the other reviewers who are complaining about sound quality have a point, although I personally don't care about crystal clear voices -- I just want to hear the words without them clipping when I walk to my garage. I will probably be returning this item if I can find a similar product with longer range.

Review: It would be interesting that somebody of Siemens tells us that it is happening, because there are people that award a serious problem in the system of audio of the telephone. I was resolved to buy it, but now I have a great doubt.

Summary: phone skeptic
Review: This phone has surpassed all of my expectations. It has incredible reception and awsome distance. I have heard a lot of other 2.4GHZ phones and this is by far the best one that I have ever bought. I bought this one for my girlfriend and am going to buy one for myself. I recomend it to anyone. The only down side to this phone is that some of the features are a little hard to operate, but once you get used to it there's nothing but smooth sailing.

Summary: Good design, lousy sound quality
Review: Like Mr. Wilkinson of NC, my 2415 Gigaset is on its way back because of terrible outgoing sound quality. I did 4 A-B comparisons, calling people on my 900 mhz. cordless, and then on the Gigaset. All the people I called told me that I sounded like I was talking through a tube. The incoming sound quality was acceptable, though not great. Too bad, because the system has a few terriffic features, like programmable call screening--you can tell the system whether to play incoming messages as they arrive, or record them silently. It's a nice system if you don't mind sounding to others like you're talking on a first-generation analog cell phone.

Summary: It's like a tiny god.
Review: By far the best phone I've had. The TAD functions are totally integrated into the handset. I haven't had any problems with sound quality and the battery power lasts forever (actually about ten hours of active talking, Much longer on just standby). Many nifty features. A must for the avid techno-collector.

Summary: Sound Quality suffers.
Review: I have to agree with the second reviewer. I, too, thought he must have bought a lemon. Siemens has a great reputation but they should protect it by recalling this model. This phone has some of the greatest features I've seen and a great design. BUT... the sound quality is horrible. The microphone is way to hot, causing it to pick up every little noise in the background and amplifying it to excruciating levels in your earpiece. People on the other end hear a very distorted voice (I know as I just called my wife and she used the phone and began complaining about it). We bought it last night and it is going back tonight. By the way, there is no way to adjust the microphone levels, I checked. Too bad, this was the phone I thought that I wanted.

Summary: Best phone I have ever used!
Review: I bought this phone plus two extra handset/chargers. I love this system. Now I don't have to worry about installing extra jacks! The phones can be charged on any of the bases so no need to worry about mixing them up. I did have one phone that had bad sound which Amazon immediately replaced. They work terrific and have a good battery life. I like the headset option (all phones) and the extra battery option (extra bases only). I have clear talking and listening even in my backyard (I live on a mountain side) or front deck. What can I say? I love this phone system!

Summary: This is an awesome cordless phone!
Review: This is the best cordless phone I've ever bought. It's basically a little computer with totally high tech features. It's very cool looking (about the size of a remote control). The most important feature to me, the sound quality is excellent. I think the sound is as good, if not better, than a corded phone! I cannot understand the previous review that panned this phone. I guess it's possible he got a lemon but based on the extent of criticism, I kind of think the person must be an employee of a competing company! This was the only negative review of Siemens that I could find on any search engine. Siemens phones give you a glimse of what all phones in the future will be like. Get this, I was able to send my list of saved numbers to the other phone that I bought (Siemens 2400) with the press of a buttom. Wow! Everything about it is high tech & easy. I love it.

Summary: Sound quality ruins nice phone
Review: The sound quality of the Siemens phone is abysmal. It has an absurdly high talkback level (in other words, you can hear yourself as you talk; a loud annoying echo of your own voice, which is not only distracting, it prevents you from hearing the other person unless you are absolutely silent). The entire phone also picks up sounds, such as your sleeve rubbing against the back of the phone. From the other party's point of view, the sound is passable, although nowhere near as good as an average digital cell phone. The user interface is also flawed in many ways. For instance, if the handset is on the base unit, and rings, and you pick it up and press `talk', that actually hangs up the phone! The manual is also incomplete; it doesn't cover several items that are on the phone setup menus. One star for a beautiful look; zero stars for functionality. I returned the phone due to the terrible sound quality after one day, and bought the Panasonic instead.
