Summary: Worst phone system we have ever had
Review: I purchased the Siemens and 7 extension phones when they first came out. I should have sent it back immediately. We cannot get more than half the length of our house before the reception cuts out. Now the extensions crackle and hiss so we can barely use it. I am throwing it away as soon as I find a better phone today on Amazon.

Summary: loaded with functions
Review: When I got my 2415, I loved it's antennaless design, and it uses any AA recharge battery to power the unit. That means I can use the regular AA recharge battery whenever the phone battery is drained. No downtime! My 5 year old Panasonic 900mhz offered the dual battery design, but I needed to spend another $18 to buy the battery to use the phone without downtime. The 2415 operates like a cell phone, I loved this high-tech design. Tons of functions and settings is what I love the most plus the capability to add 3 more handsets and intercom with everyone in the house. Unfortunately, I just took the 2415 out to the street to compare with my first generation Panasonic analog 900mhz phone w/ digital answering machine which I bought 1n 1995 for $329. The result was quite disappointing. I was expecting the 2.4ghz to go twice as far as my 900mhz, but both phones died at approx the same spot. I can even go further in a conversation with the analog set if I ddidn't mind about the loud static noise with the analog system. When it comes to digital system, the signal is either all or none. Therefore, the conversation becomes dropped with minimum hiss with increasing distances. I think I'll get the Panasonic 2570 to do a side by side comparsion. Hopefully the Panasonic will not disappoint me. **P.S. Someone wanted to know how to key-in cap letters? You press * then the letter you want to capitalize, but this is not a shift lock. You need to press * before every letter if you want all caps.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE
Review: Was excited when I bought this phone, but have tried two of them and both had major problems. No, I don't work for a competitor. I called the company and tried all their fixes (deregistering, etc.) and nothing worked. I think their software is too buggy for this new technology. Had major problems cutting in and out and other clarity problems. Sounded like a bad cell-phone call. I hope they can get it right in the future, because their concept is great. Until then, save your money.

Summary: Super extras, Unacceptable Audio.
Review: This phone will probably be the coolest-looking one you've ever owned. However, like me - you'll probably grow weary of the subpar audio. Range is sufficient at best, but my 900Mhz Uniden easily outdistances this by at least 100Feet. With the handset volume at default levels, there is a constant hiss. Only when lowering the volume to the absolute minimum is the quality somewhat improved (tho conversation is difficult with volume so low).

On the upside, the phone has an endless list of

features that would satisfy anyone wanting high-tech. But I find myself wishing the engineers spent less time on the 'pc' side of it, and more time on the 'telephone'.

I am returning this set.

Summary: Poor quality reception, awkward ergonomics
Review: I thought this phone would be great after reading the reviews here, but after purchasing it I find that the reception & transmission are both very poor quality. My friend told me it sounded like I was talking through a tube. I also had some difficulty hearing her, and when I spoke long distance to my mother there was an annoying hiss that went away when I changed phones.

The handset is too small and is, therefore, awkward to hold. I had little difficulty programming it, but did need to use the manual because the features are not intuitively designed.

I'm very disappointed with this phone, and am returning it.

Summary: A very nice product
Review: Our Gigaset 2415 arrived a week ago, and we're pretty happy with it. We wanted a combination chordless phone / digital answering machine, with sound quality being a high priority. Our experience with this product is that telephone sound quality is good (comparable to our 5 year old AT&T 900 MHz unit), with no signs of the echo which is suppose to be common with spread spectrum phones. Sound quality of messages recorded the answering machine is also good (the sound quality of the our recoded outgoing message is only fair). We have not had a chance to test the range of the unit, but it's probably equal to the above mentioned AT&T unit (no problems inside the house, and a couple hundred feet in our sububan neighborhood). Our only complaint is that when entering names into the directory, it seems to be impossible to enter some upper case letters (I need to contact Siemens about this).

Summary: Awesome Product!
Review: I have researched an researched all over the internet and found this phone to be the highest rated. I have now purchased this set plus 2 extra phones! The features are useful. I love the intercom and directory capability. Also, headsets can be used with any of the phones. Excellent product. I highly recommend. I can take out the trash and there is not even a flicker of audio degradation. The person on the other end can't even tell.

Summary: Big Waste of Time and Money
Review: The features on this phone are great. Unfortunately, I get better audio quality from my analog $29.95 cordless phone. Dropouts are constant with an anoying background hiss. I tried three of these phones and all had the same problem. Interestingly enough, when I was returning that last unit there was another person ahead of me returning another GIGAset. This product obviously has MAJOR problems!

It is too bad that Siemens didn't deliver on this product as the features were everything that I was looking for.

Summary: Cool Cell-Phone Styling Plus Great Reception
Review: Bought the 2410 first and really liked it. Appreciate the lcd display, the cell-phone like profile, and the storage capacity. Compared to my previous 900mhz MSFT phone this has considerably clearer and crisp reception. Its range allows me to cart it all around the house with impunity. Placement next to my computer systems doesn't cause any undue interference either. Do have a concern about the answering machine portion though which prevents a 5 star rating. When #%#@ telemarketers call with their computer systems, that 2-3 seconds of silence that is their identifier is recorded and logged w/ this answering machine. My previous one [AT&T] noted the silence and didn't record it as a message. Aside from this niggling concern, I've been very pleased, so much so that I am considering adding the 2400 extension phones to a few more rooms in my home.

Summary: average thru-wall coverage
Review: The phone signal doesn't penetrate Manhattan apartment walls as well as my Sony 900Mhz. Too bad, because the Siemens integrated concept and features would've been great. Waiting for someone to bring out a similar 900Mhz suystem.
