The Siemens Gigaset 2402 2.4 GHz cordless phone is an expandable cordless phone system designed to meet the needs of a busy home or small office. With 2.4 GHz operation and ADPCM digital voice encoding, this phone provides clear reception. Frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology ensures that your calls are secure from eavesdropping, by randomly changing the frequency at which the signal is transmitted over 100 times per second.The basic system includes a two-line desk and wall-mountable compact base unit, cordless handset, handset charger, cords, batteries, and manuals. The handset is slim, lightweight, and allows you to use it as an intercom with other handsets. It has an internal antenna, a backlit graphical display for caller ID information, and a headset jack. Along with the caller ID information, the base stores a 120-entry call directory; both are accessible from the handset (or from optional additional handsets). The desk- and wall-mountable charger includes LED indicators, charges a spare set of ni-cad or NiMH AA rechargeable batteries in a separate compartment, and recharges the handset. The Siemens Gigaset 2402 2.4 GHz cordless phone can work with up to eight handsets (Siemens model 2400). Each cordless handset offers its own extension number and programmable ringing tones. You can program handsets to use line one, two, or both; and they support conference calls, call transfer, intercom, and page features. You can use up to four of the eight handsets at the same time, and it's possible to have up to three separate simultaneous conversations. This phone lets you call outside parties, make internal handset-to-handset calls, and page.
