Summary: Dont believe anyone who likes this phone!
Review: Anyone who says they like it, doesn't use it. What does work? Yes, the speaker phone works both on the base and handset. You can acutally dial out, that works too. OK, the hold button works too. What doesn't work: everything else. I've had this for about two years now. And I _try_ to use the features. I read the manual. BUT: The screens are too hard to read. The menu system was done by someone who knows nothing about human-machine interfaces. It's very awkward to use.
The autodialer (directory) is painfully slow. I just timed it. To scroll through the list and pick the third entry takes 7 seconds, and I cheated since I pressed keys before I could see that I should. That may not seem like a lot in print, but how long should it take? I think it should be more like 2 seconds. Some of the phone programming requires you to use the base station and handset at the same time. For example, if you want to change the numbers of rings before the answering machine picks up. Why would anyone software developer worth his pay develop a system where sometimes you do it all on the handset, sometimes you need both the handset and base? Laziness, pure and simple. The round toggle button on both the base and hand set frequently do not register presses. The one on the handset is just to small for a multifunction switch. Even the labels of some buttons are bad. On the handset, one is called 'direct'. What does that mean? Another is labeled 'function/ch'. You tell me. The connection from handset to base sometimes drops out, usually just as I answer the phone. And I'm only 40 feet from the base! The answering machine function is buggy. The telemarketers that call and hang up on the machine cause the answering machine to indicate a message is waiting. If you listen to the message, you hear about 5-10 seconds of silence, then a 1/2 second of some previously recorded (and erased) message. Another reviewer wrote that the handset is small enough for a woman but big enough for a man. Well my hands aren't that big but I have to hold it by me fingertips. You can't please everybody, especially with something like handset size. I can live with that. If Panasonic hired some decent engineers (especially software), they could probably make this phone decent. But as it stands now, don't buy this phone.

Summary: AWESOME
Review: BEST PHONE I HAVE EVER OWNED. RANGE AND CLARITY IS OUTSTANDING. VERY DURABLE AND MY KIDS LOVE THE UNIT. A BIT PRICEY, BUT IF YOU ENJOY COOL, STATE OFTHE ART PRODUCTS, THIS PHONE IS FOR YOU.

Review: Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't return it for another. However, I have been rather dissapointed with the reception and information screen. I purchased this phone because it was a cordless phone with an answering device that could be installed on the wall. It is mounted in our kitchen next to the family room. However, even 10 feet away it periodically drops the volume in and out until you move your head to re-connect with the signal. Don't even bother trying to using the phone without the antenna extended. On the wall, the screen is next to impossible to read. You have to put your head below the unit to even try to view. Better yet, just look at the flashing red lights indicating a message or caller ID. Other than these two problems, it's a great phone and answering system. One I would recommend as long as you don't want it on the wall and can locate the unit in a more elevated place, like upstairs. I guess I expected better from Panasonic.

Summary: There is a REBATE for this phone
Review: For all of the unhappy customers that have written a review for this telephone. Panasonic offers a $20 rebate if you purchase this phone between Dec.2001 - June 2002. Go to Panasonics website (www.panasonic.com) and search for this model (KX-TG2670N) Look through the topics for rebates. Select that topic and view/print form. Mail it in and get back $20. Maybe this will be somewhat of a vindication for all of your sorrows.

Summary: This Phone is awesome!
Review: I am an electronic junkie and this phone gives me my fix. It has so many features, I had to read through the manuel for over an hour to learn them all. (I love reading manuels--which by the way is very well laid out and written). I can walk down to the corner store with this baby (about 250 yards away)...and it works just like a cell phone...only not one hiss. I love Panasonic Phones and I love this one the most. The caller ID feature with the personalized names and ringers is fantastic, and so is the answering machine feature. When I'm listening to a message, I can just hit "talk" or the speakerphone, and it automatically dials up the number that the caller leaving the message was calling from. You can also check all your messages from the handset without even going to the base unit...very handy when you've just gotten home and the handset is on the coffee table next to the TV remote! And...my favorite feature of all...on the actual handset...there is a speakerphone! When you've been put on hold by the damn cable company for a half hour...this feature is essential. No more cramping your neck or blistering your ears while waiting for a human to validate your exsistence! Besides looking slick, and besides having a cool-looking compact handset, this phone is loaded with functionality and reliability. I recommend anyone that likes the finer electronic things...to seriously look into buying a phone like this. Go ahead...you're worth it!

Summary: Garbage!!!
Review: I didn't buy this phone from Amazon(wasn't in stock at the time), but felt a duty to inform anyone considering buying this phone to FORGET IT!!! In less than four months; battery failure, system charging failure, Caller ID capability failure(caller ID works correctly on all other phones in my home). And, to top it off, Customer Service is the absolute WORST I've ever experienced!!! When the battery wasn't holding a charge after only two months, I followed the reset procedures, etc as supplied over the phone. Didn't work. I asked Panasonic to send me a new battery, guess what? They outright refused, "it's not their policy". My ONLY option is to pack up the phone and mail it to the service center(up to two weeks turn around time, if parts are available). There are NO other places you can bring it to, you MUST ship it back. From the woman's tone and comments, etc. it was obvious to me that this phone very often requires service, sometimes more than once. Please don't waist your hard earned money, $250!!!, on a product that I believed to be one of the best available, and turned out to be the worst. Hope this was helpful. I'm shipping it out this week...

Summary: Don't waste your money on this terrible phone
Review: I have absolutely nothing good to say about this telephone. The battery life is ridiculously short. Conversations fade in and out. After a few months the numbers on the very small handset keypad have faded to the point of being nearly unreadable. The range is adequate, however, that is of little consequence, when one is speaking and the person on the other end of the line is fading. This is going into the trash as soon as I buy a different phone to replace it.

Summary: Okay, but far from perfect
Review: I have had this phone for 3 weeks. Just like many other user's experience, the life on the battery is so short. My other Panasonic 900 MHZ could last 5-8 days without re-charage under normal usage. But this "elite" 2.4 Ghz hardly last more than 3 days. The sound clarity is good. But it does not have the range or distance impression that I was expecting. Pretty much or even a little bit worse than my old 900 MHZ analog. Well, this phone definitly has best look among others. Other than it's look, I would rather stay with a 900mhz digital version. By the way, the support representative at Panasonic have outstanding performance I should say. I called them about two weeks after I bought the phone and reported the battery problem, they used "UPS 2 Days Service" to send me the replacement battery. Quite outstanding job on this. Unfortunatley, it is very likely that there is some designing problem on battery charging machanism.
