Summary: Love it, But need the instructions!
Review: I recieved this as a gift, and I think it is really cool! Only one problem, there were no instructions. So I don't know how to program everything. If anyone has the instructions please email me a copy. (LHSCheerBabe2008@yahoo.com) Thanks!

Summary: Does not work properly
Review: I saw this in the store and was excited by its geek appeal, so I had my girlfriend get this for me for my birthday. It has so much potential, but unfortunately it is wasted by the simple fact that it does not do its job well. I checked the other reviews on Amazon which mention many of the same problems, so I know it's not just my unit. These things just were not programmed well, which makes it basically worthless since it doesn't do its job.

* Misses many incoming calls.
* Gets confused and displays random question marks instead of useful info.
* Randomly loses its settings (messages, auto-off time).
* Hard to program.
* Constantly displays annoying "Olympia InfoGlobe" message instead of something more interesting.
* Numbers never expire from the unit unless you manually display each one.
* Poor interface requires excessive button pushing to display each number.
* Makes a good bit of noise unless you sit it on a pillow.
* When it does show a call, it often takes too long for the number to scroll into view.

In short, find another way to get caller ID.

Summary: Infoglobe is really cool
Review: I've had one of these little toys since Christmas and it works beautifully, no trouble at all. Now I did have probelms with the first one, it wouldn't really ever work, but I think it was damaged because the Radio Shack it was purchased at only had 2, and my mom bought the other one and hers didn't work either. I ordered this one and it has been awesome. I love the messages I can set myself, it has never failed to display an incoming number, you can see the info from across the room, and the whole thing is just really cool in appearance.
Sure the engine is audible- if you're about 3 inches from it! Mine sits on my computer desk next to my phone, and I never evcen notice any sounds. Friends who come over and see it are fascinated.

Summary: Excellent product, but needs enhancement.
Review: Its a very good invention, very unique. Does what it claims to do. However, it needs little improvements here and there and more features. 1) There is a slight noise coming out from the unit, due to the spinning inside. It migth get annoying after a while. Second of all, they might want to add additional features like different color displays as well as sound to this thing. Other than that, its an excellent product.

Summary: Cool, for about five minutes
Review: Searching for a large screen caller ID, I came across this thing. Seemed appealing and interesting.

It does eventually show the caller ID number and/or name, but by the time you are able to read it, it could be too late to answer.

It is noisy and annoying. Forget having it in your home office, or anywhere that requires you to concentrate. I'd say maybe putting it in the kitchen might be ok, but who wants to see this thing in a kitchen.

There is also the random scrolling messages of which three you can program in yourself. However, there is a message that reads "Olympia Infoglobe" that is constant, and you cannot remove it or change it. I actually contacted the company to ask how to remove it, and they point blank tell you "you can't" (full response, with no additional reply). I already know what I bought, why do I have to have this text? I was not impressed with the customer service with this issue and their non-response to the constant noise from the spinning.

It's a pure novelty without a use. You will get tired of it almost immediately. Basically a big waste of money now that I have to find something that does the easy job correctly without being an annoyance.

Summary: Cool gadget but too noisy
Review: The gadget is very cool, but it's only drawback is a loud humming noise. Sounds like an airplane. It may work in a noisy environment, but not in a bedroom.

Summary: Not a good buy
Review: The infoglobe catches your eye for sure on the outside. The problem is that it is noisy and is not the easiest thing to set up. I would not reccommend this product to anyone. It's worth about $15.00 bucks in my opinion, definitely not $50.00.

Summary: Taking Caller ID to a new level
Review: This Gadget is amazing. It is the talk of the house when company is over. Great features and easy to use. Only thing I would change is if the motor was a little quieter. Very brigh light and easy to read and program. Great Caller ID

Summary: It's cool enough for the money. Get it.
Review: Very cool. Has value as a nifty clock/calendar even if you don't hook it to your phone line (though I have). I've often considered getting another one for work just for the "ooh, ahh" effect--and I wouldn't use it as caller ID there. I also enjoy that its operation is so intuitive (I never have to get the instructions out).

And yes, the motor is audible, but with just a bit of trial and error you can find a placement in which the noise is minimal.
