Summary: Horrible, just ask 3 of my friends!
Review: It's really our fault. We already knew of one person that had this phone, and it was horrible. However, the price was very appealing, so we thought we'd try it out. Then, after we started having problems, we talked to a couple other people who had the same phones. They had the same exact trouble. The problem is, sometimes, it simply does not work at all. It is the worst phone I've ever owned.

Summary: Good for the price.
Review: Seems that I go through cordless phones more than normal people. Either the battery dies or some other component fails. Usually it's cheaper to just buy another telephone as opposed to replacing parts or batteries. That's just what I did in this case. My 1 1/2 year old Uniden answerer, a 900 MHz unit with all the wiz-bang features died. To replace it, I puchased this unit from GE based on a combination of features and looks. I have zero issues with the phone or the base. I use it when I'm next door at the neighbors as well as when I walk down to the mailbox. Its reception is quite good, better than most 900 MHz units that cost a similar amount. It has the ability to accept a headset (I purchased a GE unit to go with it that has a mute capability for those late night conference calls) and comes with a clip so you can put it on your waist while walking around the house. The one feature I wish it had is a speakerphone function. I find I'll forget where I left the handset and wish I could just grab the call from the base unit (since I always know where that is, ;-) ). Otherwise, the unit is as good as any I've had and better than most I've had. I have four cordless in the house right now and this one is now my favorite. Oh, the answering system has a nice pleasant female voice to instruct you on how to set the time, date, leave a greeting, etc., it doesn't get more simple than this phone! I recommend it for those that don't want to waste their time reading a manual, I plugged it in, charged it and began using it, all without opening a book!

I think you'll like this phone if you buy it, I did.

Summary: An excellent phone
Review: This is a great phone! Apparently, these GEs are hit-or-miss, since some people seem to have some trouble with them... but mine was (and still is) completely flawless. I have a clear signal all the way down the street, and the sound quality is perfect during all my phone calls. The only issue is when I walk too close to the 900 MHz phone in my kitchen, when a benign popping noise can be heard in the background - no big deal. Another annoyance is that the female pre-recorded voice for the instructions is blindingly annoying, and setting the date or time requires you to cycle through a million painfully slow numbers and instructions (twen-ty...one. twen-ty...two. twen-ty...three. AHHHHH!)
HOWEVER, the phone is sleek, stylish, and highly functional. I have no serious gripes with it, and it makes workstations and rooms look a lot better - it's not a gross, plasticy, boxy hunk like most phone hooks are. It's compact and attractive, and for the price, this line of GE phones definitely has my vote as a good buy. I recommend it...
