Review: ...with a digital answering system. I found GE's presentation of that distinction misleading. Cleary, it's an important consideration when seeking good reception, clarity and privacy.The good news about this phone: nice compact design and some decent (though not unique) features. Easy to set up and use. The bad: analog phone. Poor reception. Annoying rapid blink on "new message" indicator light.Unfortunately, my phone simply stopped working shortly after my purchase. That's simply bad luck, but didn't endear me to the model.I returned this phone and did some reasearch at epinions.com before my next purchase. I'm not shilling for this site, but there's a wealth of information there about what to consider when buying a phone and much input by end-users about their own experiences. It's similar to Amazon[.com]'s end-user commentary, but with more participants and some good technical information. Expect subjectivity in the reviews, as you would at Amazon.[com]..., I ended up buying a Panasonic digital 900 Mhz telephone with answering machine for ... more than this model. I again purchased from Amazon[.com], which offers this phone at a very good price. I've been very pleased with its performance, reception and clarity. It offers caller-ID on the LCD screen on the handset, speakerphones on the base and on the handset, and some other very nice features that represent a true "step-up" from the GE phone That's not surprising given the price difference, but if nothing else, buying a digital phone without an answering machine is still an improvement over GE's analog model.If this particular phone meets your needs, wonderful. If you're looking for something more technologically advanced, spend a little time researching before you buy. Good luck in your new phone purchase.

Review: Brand new out of the box, phone had an unimpressive range of not more than 400 feet. The answering machine's electronic voice is slow and cumbersome. After just a few months of ownership this phone started to have serious sporadic problems. Several friends have left messages that the phone apparently never recorded. I'd really like to know how many important messages I've missed because of this phone. The speed dial does not always work correctly. Considering all of these problems, the phone is not usable. I'm very displeased with this phone and plan on returning it as soon as possible. Do not buy one.

Review: Don't buy this phone! I bought it when it first came out (so it was quite expensive), hoping that it would be better than my other 900Mhz phone. This phone is nothing but static. Not-to-mention you can hear other peoples conversation even after you change the channels numerous times! Another annoying thing, is that after it hits 40 on the caller id; you only see the number when the phone rings, if you try to look for it at a later time it's not there! Like the call never existed. All-in-all, definitely not worth the money. Especially, not what I paid for it!

Review: I can't believe just because you got a lemon that anybody can make you wrote your stupid review. Good gosh if you wife make a mistake do you trade her in...Back to the subject, lots of features for a clear sounding phone with an answering machine that cost almost nothing. Sorry about the blast but people like this should get real. The best companies in the world produce lemons, that does not mean their products are bad. He probably took the phone back and spent three times as much for a phone he didn't need, hopefully it worked or he would blast it too. Have you ever heard of giving people, things, and experiences a second chance. Way to go GE

Review: I have had my phone for about a year and a half now. I like it. It has a lot of nice features, without being too pricy. The only problem that i have encountered is that i have had continuous problems with the battery on my phone. Since the the third month of ownership i have had issues with it. (the time/date voice is a little annoying too), but my main issue was the battery.

THERE IS NEVER ANY STATIC. THE ANSWERING IS THE BEST PART. ITS VERY CLEAR I NEVER HAVE TO REPEAT MESSAGE BECAUSE I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND CALLER. I CAN BE IN THE BACKYARD OR THE DRIVE WAY AND I NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE RECEPTION. I AM TELLING THERE IS NO STATIC! IT'S VERY EASY TO SET DATE AND PLAY WITH ALL FEATURES. YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO READ! lol

Review: I purchased the phone because it is the first good looking cordless I'd seen. While the answering machine was fine, the phone's reception frequently required me to change the channel. Furthermore, every call I conducted was dropped at least once. At no time was I more than ten feet from the base. Finally, the numbers on the handset often had to be pushed several times to register back to the central office - sometimes they'd be fine, other times some digits required multple attempts. Bought the phone on a Friday, gave up on the following Wednesday.

Review: I was skeptical at first because the price was so low for all the options you get plus an answering machine built in. The answering machine is easy to use and has very clear reception with a time and date stamp. A far as the phone, I never had a phone with such clarity and that would work so far away from the base unit with no static. To date, I have not had to change channels on any of our phone calls because of reception problems. The GE 2.4ghz phone does not interfere with our other 900mhz phone cordless phones in our home.
