Summary: Even though it's cheap....it's not worth the money
Review: Even though the reception was ok, I quickly got discouraged with this phone. I guess it's true you get what you pay for...unfortunately. First the CID screen started getting scratched up, even though it wasn't being mishandled. Then, suddenly, I noticed it would take 2 - 3 times to dial out and get a connection. At first, I thought it was the phone company or my lines on my house. Then one day I just happened to hear what was going on with it. After pressing the buttons on the phone, you hear the phone's buttons emit their tone and afterward you should hear the actual dialing out of the number for the tone dialing setting. Well some of the numbers weren't dialing out and it was random to any number at different times... i.e. #2, #5 and #7...it seems like an odd problem to me. I've had this phone for more than 6 mos at least so I guess I'm stuck with it...so buyer beware.

Summary: Lots of features for the low price
Review: For such a low price (less than 1/2 of similarly equipped phones), I've been very happy with my purchase. I use a headset (purchased separately) with if often - no problems thus far. The display is easy to read (scrolling through missed calls is handy as is the auto dial feature that redials the missed call) and I like seeing the red light when the phone rings...makes it easier to find! I've had no reception problems that weren't solved by simply changing the channel. All in all, I'm quite pleased with it and just bought it again (as a gift).

Summary: It's okay
Review: I bought this phone a while ago and it has held up pretty well. The battery life is really good. If you keep it in the charger it will last you a good couple hour conversation. However, even though its 2.4 GHz its 2.4GHz Analog, so it doesn't have very good range at all. Actually my old 900MHz Digital went further. With this one I can't go down stairs in my house without it breaking up. There are only a couple of rings to choose from but they work. It lights up green on the caller ID however the keys are not backlit (although they look like they should be). The ant. lights up red when you are on the phone which is good so people know you're in the middle of a conversation. The worst thing (other than the range) however is the placement of the buttons. There are really useless stupid buttons at the top (like format which changes the number on the CID from 888-8888 to (888)888-8888) and really useful small buttons at the bottom (like channel and mute). Overall this phone is okay, it has its ups and downs but you can find better. Try to go with a 2.4GHz Digital.

Summary: GE 27930GE3 2.4 GHz Cordless Telephone
Review: I bought this phone at Office Max for the same price as Amazon ($$$). The price was good and the phone felt good in the hand. I liked the antenna lighting up - it gave a visula indication that it was working, but I wonder how much extra battery-time it sucks up. The clarity was good as long as you were near the base. BUT, the volume was too low, even at the highest setting. I kept having to ask my caller to repeat what they said. I also did my usual test of going outside and seeing how far away I could go before the signal became noisy. I barely got out the door before I got all this crackling and static. The range was no where near my two other 900 MHZ phones. Back to the store for a refund with this unit. Bottom Line: Nice features, nice price, poor performance.

Summary: Not Worth It
Review: I bought this phone to replace one that I had and ended up returning it after one call. The reception was worse than my 900mhz phone and it sounded like I was talking and listening from inside a cave. For such a good brand name, I was very dissapointed with the quality of this phone and would not recommend it to anyone.

Summary: It got 1 star because there were no zero stars
Review: I bought this phone two weeks ago, and gave it to my daughter this evening to go in a yard sale. GE couldn't give me another at gunpoint. The reception is not even close to a 900 mhz Sony that we have.

Summary: All around great phone
Review: I have had several cordless phones, everything from AT&T to VTech and this is by far my favorite. I'm not going to state all the features, cause you can read that above. But I really like this phone. I also think that the person who gave it a bad review, just got a bad one or treats things he buys poorly. Bottom line, it's a great phone.

Summary: What is everyone's problem?
Review: I have owned this phone for a year and I've never had a problem with it annoying enough to even think about taking it back to the store. This is the only cordless phone I've ever owned that I've never had a static problem with. Also, the volume quality with this phone is very good. I have had trouble hearing people but I've noticed it's only certain people, so the problem is with the connection between the two phones, not the GE phone itself. I love it and I'd buy it again!

Summary: WOW
Review: I love this phone! I chose it for my birthday gift after having fallen in love with my boyfriend's one-
since i live in a dorm it's important that it have a good range and this one is great..it goes all the way to the other side of the building despite the countless walls inbetween and even went outside and down three floors catching a signal from my window! it's easy to find under the bed or behind books due to the pager set on the base-great if you can never remember where you put it-
I definitely would recommend this phone even for clumsy people because ive dropped it sooooo many times (the base too!) and it is still like new.
Oh and btw it also works in Europe because i took it to my mother so she would be able to talk with a headset-
a great bargain!!!
