Summary: Great Features don't outweigh the poor reception and sound
Review: If the sound and reception were up to par, this would be a great system. I wish I had read some of the reviews before purchasing. I'm just returning this and two handsets today. The features are wonderful, though lacking a few things that could be helpful- a screen on the base unit that imitates the handset disply (the base handset display doesn't track with what's happening on the base unit) and a voice mail button that will dial direct to my service as on another Panasonic that I own.
I'm going to wait, though, until the sound and the reception catches up to the features. The background noise was unacceptable and the range was not great. The intercom feature was good, but not the principal reason I bought the phone.

Summary: An excellent phone set for a household.
Review: Just today we installed this handset, along with three add-on phones (a total of four). It was superb to say the least. Dispite the claim for 12 Hours before use we charged it for 2-4 before testing all the phones which worked perfectly. Coming with an array of options the phones were excellent in the ability to listen, and speak back. The intercom feature works well, and with it you can easily transfer calls from one person to the other.

One of the nicer things is the LCD display which shows your number, and lights up for use during the night, you also have a wonderful address book similar to that of an address book on a cellular phone, up to 50 entries with a name for each you can search for entries or scroll through utilizing a menu. Further more each addon phone for seperate rooms require only the phoen and a recharger, meaning you do not need a phoneline in each room an excellent thing as well. Even the base itself is small and does not take up room.

If you have several rooms, lots of calls and sometimes for different people, or usually scream back and forth through your house then this is an excellent phone to aid you in these things. Just make sure to get the additional phones!

Summary: Very Good Phone loaded with features
Review: Most people that are picky about phones will tell you that Panasonic makes the best cordless phones. But DARN IT, why did Panasonic have sell a Vtech phone under Panasonic name? This piece of junk is made by Vtech (FCC ID indicate so, it's a clone of the Vtech 2461). The phone is made of cheap quality, cheap looking plastic. The phone has a constant hissing sound in the background (another sign of VTech), and a very slow operating system. If you dial number too fast, it will choke, and you may miss digits. The sound quality is poor also--there is NO clarity, though it does not echo like many 2.4GHz DSS phones. Save your time and money, buy one of the Panasonic's own 2.4GHz phones.

Vtech has already destroyed the good AT&T brand name, now they are out there killing another good name. It's pretty sad. I wish these company execs realize that a good name is your best asset, protect it. Don't sell inferior brands under your own name.

Summary: Suits My Needs
Review: Reading a few bad reviews - unable to put under chin, no battery, unable to retrieve messages - it was obvious that I use my phone differently and that I have different needs. First, the base phone does have a tray to store and charge and extra battery, so I was curious as to the phone one person actually reviewed. As for putting it under the chin, I never do that, but I find the speakerphone built into the handset a godsend, since I use that feature to put the phone down when I need to write. I use a digital answering service so I don't dial my own phone to get messages, I dial my service. In my small apartment I have had no issues with calls being dropped, and I find the multiple handset feature great, since I don't have to run extra phone lines and I reduce the ugly visual clutter. I have two complaints. One, the phone screeches when I use the base speakerphone and the removeable handset near each other. Two, the phone shows the number of new calls received, but since I receive numerous marketers calling me and hanging up, I find that I am reviewing meaningless numbers.

Review: Terrible phone. In addition to the problem of inadvertent hangups and muting, the phone has never allowed me to retrieve messages remotely. I tried to exchange it, but couldn't, since it was past the 30 day mark. Avoid this product!

Summary: Great features!
Review: The phone is packed with the features I was looking for and it performs all of them nicely. The sound quality is good in all modes of operation. Disappointed in the extended range when compared with my Uniden 900 DSS, but it is o.k. for most situations. Compactness takes a little getting used to; small earspeaker area, & it is easy to accidently turn "on" or "off" , etc., because of small size. Belt clip mechanics seem flimsy. One strong complaint is that when two handsets are in a conference call and one off the remotes hangs-up, the entire connection is lost! Overall I am pleased with this phone & the three handsets I purchased.

Review: This is the worst phone I have ever used. I cannot walk into another room without losing the person I'm talking to. The expandable phones are even worse.

Summary: Phone does not hold its own - degrades quickly
Review: This phone started out as a great (rated 5) phone. Now after 3 months, it does not work even 3 feet from the stand. I would not recommend it and will not go with a Panasonic cordless phone again.

Summary: Terrible Phone
Review: We bought this phone at a department store. The base unit and one extension. The features of the phones were cool, everything we wanted. The biggest problem was the static on the line and when we turned the volume up to max it was still hard to hear. Since this is the basic function of a phone we decided to return them.
