Summary: Good Phone
Review: I have just started using this phone about a week ago and haven't experienced any problems with the battery. In fact, I still have 2 bars of battery left without charging after the 15 hour first-time charge.

I had orginally thought that the phone came with an answering machine, but it's actually a "voicemail" system which links up with one's phone service. I presume a light blinks whenever there is a voicemail.

The design is sleek and price is reasonable. For the price I paid on Amazon, I got a nice speakerphone with a dial pad. I would definitely recommend this phone, though it would have been nice if it came with a digital answering machine for the same price!

Summary: Pleasantly Surprised
Review: I ordered this phone without reading the very poor reviews concerning the battery staying charged. Once I read the reviews, I became extremely nervous - to the point of wanting to cancel my order. Unfortunately, it had already shipped by that time, so I was stuck with the phone or else I would have to pay to return it. I decided to try it out and see how it worked.

The first charge took around 15 hours. I was excited to see 3 clicks (the full charge) and I made sure that nobody in the house put the phone back on the base so that it would run all the way out. The next day there was still a full charge, but then the day after it went down to two clicks and then, within a couple of hours, it said it needed to be recharged. "That's it," I thought, "This phone is going back." But, alas, I gave it one last try.

I charged the phone overnight until it had a full charge. I then took it off the base and the phone lasted a week! Unbelievable!! Since then I haven't had any problems at all. I guess I was lucky and got a phone that's not a problem. As most others have mentioned, I love the phone features, although I am a little disappointed in the "digital duplex" speakerphone (I was hoping for a full-duplex speakerphone, it's really more of a half-duplex with extra sensitivity - fortunately we never use the speakerphone, anyway). I absolutely love the blinking light and note on the handset when we have a voicemail, and it's now so easy to check our voicemail after programming the voicemail number and password into the phone. We just hit the voicemail button, it dials the numbers, waits, hits pound and our password and we're in. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the phone and happy that I was unable to cancel the order.

Summary: This phone is a winner
Review: I'm very surprised by all the negative comments. We bought this phone a month ago and think it's great. No battery problems at all. We find the phone is user friendly and intuitive to use. The features are 100% what we wanted and work perfectly. If there is a better phone with these features, I'd like to know what it is.

Summary: Buyer beware
Review: If you purchase this product, I hope you are completely satisfied. It is my opinion that the reliability of Panasonic products has slipped in recent years, and this was confirmed to me when a product I purchased quickly failed. The reason I'm posting this is to warn you that the warranty that accompanies Panasonic products only has value if the company chooses to stand behind it. In my case, they weaseled out of it, leaving me with a total loss and no further recourse. Good luck with your decision.

Summary: NO BATTERY LIFE
Review: In a word this phone stinks. I'm going out today to find a battery. The battery has not held a charge from the first day I used it. It has about 3 hours on it, and in calls, only less than a hours worth.

Summary: Battery lasts 20 minutes.
Review: It's true. There is a systematic defect on this model where the battery life lasts 20 minutes or less. If you leave it off the base for 6 hours, the charge is completely gone and yes, I did charge it the full amount before the first use. Stay away from this one!

Summary: Good Features - Bad Battery
Review: Like the features of the telephone, however, talk time is MAYBE 20 minutes before the battery says recharge and dies. I was careful to charge the full 15 hours, and went beyond that, to make sure it had a full charge before first usage. It gradually quit holding charge after less than 6 mos. Went back to where I bought it and they said they could send it back for possible repair or I could buy another battery. Decided to fork out the ($$$) for another battery only to find out they didn't have a battery for it in stock. Was referred to 2 other stores in the area, no battery, finally ordered one from a major supplier, only to find out, after waiting a week for delivery, that it is not in stock and they don't know when it will be available! Very frustrated! Now I read that other people have experienced the same problem with the battery failing to maintain a charge. I am taking the phone back to the store today, I want another model of telephone that lasts longer than 6 mos with parts that are readily available!

Summary: Great phone
Review: Panasonic makes some of the best cordless phones available. This phone is no exception. The clarity is great, and the menu is easy to navigate. The speakerphone on the handset works surprisingly well, the people i have talked to could not even tell I was on a speaker phone. It works great with voicemail, which is one of my main reasons for getting it in the first place. Great phone, you can't go wrong
