Summary: Way too Complicated
Review: I bought this phone about three weeks ago. This is indeed one of the clearist cordless phones that I've ever owned. However, the EXTREME complexity of this phone left me with little choice but to return this product.

Pros:

1) Sound clarity, stylish, small, German engineering.

2) Everything is located on the handset.

3) Good speaker-phone.

Cons:

1) Complicated, need engineering degree to operate.

2) Random clicking noise and humming noise in the back ground.

3) Awkward belt clip.

4) Lack of head phone jack.

5)Not truly "voice dial."

After dealing out cash for a cordless phone, my expectations were very high. The previous reviews all agreed on the clarity of this phone and for the most part they were accurate. Although I did notice some interference and random clicking and low level humming noise that were a little annoying, especially considering the price tag.

The German engineers packaged this phone with all kinds of neat features. Perhaps too many features, thus making the phone extremely difficult to use. The so called "voice activated dialing" is another one of the "unneccessary" options. First of all, I do not believe it is true voice dialing. As I understood it, you have to record your own voice(which is a real pain to do) and to dial, you have to search the directory, goto voice dial, select the person and the phone will just replay your recorded voice and to dial you still have to press a botton. So, if you think that it will automaticaly dial, like your cell phones, you're mistaken.

Overall, it is a good phone with numerous problems, making it an average product. I hope this helps.

Summary: Almost Perfect
Review: I've been phone-hopping now for quite some time. I've finally landed. I've had this phone now for two months. Prior, I tried the top-o'-the-line Sony and a few Panasonics (my favorite phone ever was probably Panasonics first 900MHz so I thought they had to have a good 2.4GHz phone...wrong), but hated them for various reasons including poor sound quality, unimpressive range, flimsy construction, clunky, etc. This one is darn near perfect. It is solid as can be. I drop-kicked (okay, dropped from about 5 feet then kicked) it across my hard-wood floor and slammed it into the wall across the room and it didn't even hiccup. The sound quality is great. There are occasional "ticks" at long distances, but not bad at all unless the microwave is running (a common flaw with all 2.4's). The range is excellent--I've got a big yard and it works equally well from the mailbox as it does right next to the base. The answering machine is good, though the quality of the OGM is a bit low. The menu structure is very logical, but it does take some learning. Also, it is a bit slow to respond to clicks when accessing menu features, but this is fine because once you have the menu structure memorized, it "queues" the clicks so you can still punch as quickly as you want. The duplex speaker phone is really impressive. Just clip it on your belt and you can walk and talk freely. I could probably do without the whiz-bang voice commands, but it's still cool. One gripe is the incomplete support for call waiting. It is supposed to totally support the advanced call waiting features (send to VM, conference, etc.), but comes with an insert saying you have to hold down the MEM key to switch calls. Since I don't have telco VM and I conference, like, never, this is a minor gripe. Others include no ability to wall mount the base (no excuse--shame on Siemens) and no headset jack (though the speaker phone is so good, who cares). All in all, this phone deserves at least 4.5 out of 5 stars. Great job!

Summary: Great Phone
Review: Great Phone with many excellent features. Clarity is remarkable. I did a lot of research before making this purchase. I would recommend this phone to anyone...as a matter of fact, I already have.

Summary: Revisited - now I love this thing...
Review: Earlier, I gave this thing a lousy review because the item was DOA - and Siemens Customer Service wasn't too strong in their concern about my situation. But Amazon replaced it in 5 days, and now the thing works as described.

If you want a VERY high end phone system (that is somewhat difficult to learn), this is it. It has taken us a few days to figure it all out, but we've done it, and quite frankly we're amazed at the features this phone has. It has a clean appearance, and the sound quality is fine. So far, the quality level seems high - everything is tight and "feels" solid.

I can now recommend this system to anyone.

Summary: Best cordless phone ever made!
Review: Nothing bad to say about this phone. I've bought the best cordless phones from Sony, Panasonic, V-Tech, you name it. These other brands don't even come close to Siemens. The voice activation works really well and the speakerphone is a great idea! All the new features on this phone is amazing! Anyone looking for a cordless phone should buy the best. And this cordless phone is the BEST!.

Summary: Great Features
Review: I just got this phone

Great phone with these exceptions:

1) slow response of the keys (or commands)
2) noise which i think is because i'm using a wireless network on the same freq. 2.4ghz

Good:

1) voice commands work really well
2) dedicated key for voice mail even though it has a built in answering machine
3) nice grip
4) SPEAKER PHONE ON THE HAND SET ! which is not only monitor you could actually talk
5) AA batteries... supplied is 700mah i put 1600mah should last for at least a week.

Thats all i think.

Review: THATS THE BEST PHONE I HAVE EVER USE, THERE ARE TOO MANY FEATURES AND HAS BEST QUALITY PERFECT ANSWERING MACHINE. ALL I CAN SAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIEMENS.

Summary: Great, But Poor Quality for an Expensive PHone
Review: I purchased a 4215 base and 2 additional handsets and we really like the system. However, the base failed today (after 2 years of service). Customer service at Siemens was prompt and professional -- they answered the phone immediately and were able to help me troubleshoot the problem quickly. HOWEVER, SIEMENS WARRANTY IS 1 YEAR AND THEY SELL NO REPLACEMENT PARTS. I WOULD NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW HANDSET AND BASE AT THE STORE. I'M UPSET THAT A "HIGH-END" SYSTEM LIKE THIS FAILS AFTER 2 YEARS AND WILL PURCHASE ANOTHER GIVEN THE SIMILAR FAILURES THAT OTHERS NOTE IN THESE REVIEWS. I will never buy another Siemens product.

Summary: Handset and Base Failure
Review: To start, when this phone system works properly, it is very nice. The sound quality is fine, ergonomics are good, and there are plenty of features. To set up the phone properly and utilize all of the features it takes someone not intimidated by technology.

Unfortunately after 12 months ownership, both of the handsets failed. The keypads stopped working so you could not dial out or hang up. Out of warranty I replaced them with two new handsets. 6 months later the base failed. When I called Siemens customer support to ask for help, they claimed a failure rate of < 1%. Of course, being out of warranty, they wouldn't consider replacing the base. On my original purchase the Siemens product failure rate is now 100%.

Summary: Base station fails as it says here!!!
Review: The phone was OK while it worked. I have two extra handsets that are useless exactly a week after my one year warranty is over because the base station is dead. I should've read reviews here before my purchase. I am trying to salvage my other handsets by buying another base on ebay...hopefully for less than $30.
