Summary: Great phone - no interference with 802.11b Wi-fi computers!
Review: After having disastrous interference between a 2.4GHz Panasonic and our WiFi 802.11b wireless network at home, I hesitantly stayed in the 2.4GHz frequency range and purchased the Siemens 4210, because of its claims on the box of no interference with other electronics. Lo and Behold, it was true! Not a day has gone by with any interference. Sound quality is great, I haven't experienced any clicking (as referenced in another review), and found the manual delightfully straightforward in terms of setup. Lots of features, very easy on the eyes and a pleasant compact size. The programmable night-time ringer auto shut-off (or low ring volume) is a really wonderful feature. In short, a great German-designed phone with all the Euro-features anyone could dream of.

Summary: The best out there
Review: After owning a Siemens Gigaset 3010 in Europe, I was very disappointed to return to the USA to find only the [cruddy] 2400-series. After having the worst ownership experience with a Panasonic KX-TG2650N (my fifth Panasonic), I threw out the Panasonic and purchased the Siemens. It's the best cordless phone available, although it is true that you have to get the expansion phone for the headset capability...

Review: Continually 'clicks' during conversations.
Menu laid out poorly (possibly by *untrained* chimp).
Despite wording on box will NOT work with other Siemans phones (ok, it works except for any 'advanced' features. Advanced features must be everything except ring).
Charger contacts don't work well resulting in phone beeping while resting on charger.
Tech support and customer support all but non-existant.
Would throw it in trash except for my >$200 investment in a pair.
Still kicking myself for buying these.

Summary: Feel like being a beta-tester?
Review: Dependability: 1 star First you have to buy an over-priced phone and hope that your rebates you mailed in actually are paid off. Second, plug them in and set up your voice-recognition numbers -- this is great because later they won't work. And lastly, memorize the customer service line -- you'll need it. Since purchasing these phones (I bought the base plus one satellite) I've had to call two dozen times. The phone constantly needs to be "reset" which involves losing all your stored numbers. The latest problem required me to pack it all up and ship the phone to them for replacement. Two months later, I'm still without the replacement because the UPS ground everything and take their own sweet time getting you the reconditioned units. Sound quality: 3 stars. Its decent -- but not crystal clear -- there are times that it sounds as bad as my lower quality sony -- and that's a real problem because the only thing worse than this phone is a sony cordless. Stay away from this phone.

Summary: Stylish and Functional!
Review: Despite some of the negative comments about the Siemens 4210 Gigaset, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. After all, it is German engineering... Thus far, after two weeks of usage, I am extremely pleased with my experience and cannot confirm any of the complaints voiced in this forum. The phone works flawlessly, voice clarity is great, no problems whatsoever with the charger base, and as far as hang-ups about the user interface are concerned: I just don't get it. I really love the hands-free (aka speaker-phone) mode: works great for me. Usually I am not going to the effort of writing reviews, but I felt a need to set the record straight about this device: love it, highly recommended.

Summary: Actually Quite Elementary
Review: For all you people who have been scared by the others, this phone is not all that complicated. If you understand the functioning of folderrs in a computer (and especially if you are a palm pilot or Pocket PC user) you will find this phone, in fact, quite user friendly. The Voice Dialing is very accurate, and is set through the first menu. It is then dialed by holding a button for about a second and speaking. I have had no problems with the functioning of the phone and it has even replaced my alarm clock entierly. Also, the adition of rechargeable AA batteries to the phone (as opposed to Panasonic, Sony, Uniden and other makes) reduces the cost of replacement batteries, and makes them easy to find. Finally, the quality of the product is great, I purchased mine as a floor model at my job, and found it (after many months being played with, dropped and battered by customers) working perfectly and turned on the second I put batteries in it, like brand new.

Summary: If you plan to use this as a phone consider other brand
Review: Go through reviews and you'll see one word comes again and again "CLICK". This phone "CLICK"s very loud and annoying all through conversation. I subconciosly refrain from using this phone in a house just becouse of that. Make sure that if you buy it you have an option to return it back becouse most likely you'd need it.
Also as it was noted in other posts. Battery life if 1-2 days at most. I have my old AT&T cordless phone having 6-7 days.
So basically I don't see why anybody will consider this phone in a first place.

Summary: Call waiting OK, Muting disappointing, phone book cumbersome
Review: I agree with the other comments on how Call Waiting works by having to use the MEM key instead of the ACCEPT option that pops up when receiving a call. It's disappointing that a company of Siemen's reputation would slip on this piece of useability. My phone was packaged with an additional flyer to explain how to use the MEM key for call waiting as Siemens had overlooked explaining it in the original manual. More fustrating for me is the fact that the mute function does not really mute the phone as most of us (in the U.S. at least) have come to understand it. As Siemens has designed it, "Mute" is more like "Hold"... meaning that when the caller "mutes" the phone, the other party cannot hear him AND the caller cannot hear the other party. Additonally, the other party hears electronic music from the phone... while the caller hears a rythmic beeping to remind him that he/she has the other party on "mute". Kind of annoying and really not practical for situations where you're using the speakerphone to listen in on a conference call, but mute your phone so that extraneous noise from your end does not intefere in the call. You can imagine what happens when you try to mute per Siemens' method... everyone on the call would hear your hold music. REALLY disappointing, especially how Siemens markets this phone as "perfect" for any "active household or business". I guess they forgot how business people use mute during conference calls. A real shame as the full-duplex speakerphone is a jewel. I called friends using the speakerphone and they thought the clarity was great. The phone book is old school... you have to re-enter the name of each person for each of their phone numbers. No associating multiple numbers with one name. Aside from those three issues above, it's a beautiful phone and functionally well thought out in almost all other areas. However for the price tag, these three improvements need to happen for me to keep the phone. For now, I'm returning it. I generally like the phone and were Siemens to improve these features, I would purchase the phone in a heartbeat.
