Summary: 20 min. Battery Life
Review: The battery life is just bad. The phone goes dead after about 20 minutes. I advise you not to make an important call on this phone. You have to store phone numbers twice. Once for the base and again for the phone, too time consuming. I have charged the battery for 10 hours already and it's still in the first bar. Just bad.

Summary: Complete Waste of Money
Review: The battery on my phone, as well as other reviewers', lost its charge very quickly and completely died just a few months after I bought it. I can not find a replacement battery anywere, locally or on the internet. Panasonic can't even replace the battery. Also, Panasonic's customer service is not lacking, it is non-existant. Do not waste any money on this company.

Summary: Can't hold a charge
Review: The phone comes with lot's of features (and expectations). However, after charging the unit for 20 hours, the battery was dead after 30 mins. of use. Customer service is non-existent. What good is a phone if it can't hold a charge?

Summary: Where is Quality Assurance?
Review: The phone is kinda cool! We are taking it back, and based on our experience and other unfavorable reviews it will be a return, not an exchange for another one. Paid over $... at Costco for this phone. Never paid $... for a phone before. Never had problems early on like this! Problem? Noise! It's as if it's a pre-900 mHz phone. There's interference. It's bad enough for others to have commented on it and we've only had it about 2 weeks. Also, if I'm listening to the messages and pick up the receiver to call someone, the playback ceases. It can't do two things at once. Finally, the menus for turning off the ringer (so I can sleep) are somewhat convoluted. Otherwise it's a pretty cool little unit. Sad to have to take it back.

Summary: It's everything I expected and then some.
Review: The reason I picked this phone is because it was rated high by Consumer Reports. I am glad I didn't let the bad reviews get in the way. I have a disability which causes me problems holding on to items. The speakerphone in the handset is just what the doctor ordered. Editing and storing numbers from the caller's list to the directory is a breeze. Setup was a snap. I have only had it for two months but I haven't experienced any problems with the battery. It's a winner.

Summary: Terrible phone
Review: This phone can't hold a charge for more than 30 mins. Customer service is useless. Don't buy this phone, you'll regret it.

Summary: Great except for outgoing volume and AM cutoff
Review: This phone has good features, good incoming voice quality and volume, and clear digital message recordings.

We have had two digital spread spectrum phones before this Panasonic: a 900 MHz Uniden and a 2.4 GHz Siemens. The both suffered from poor incoming voice quality because of low volume (to the point that I couldn't hear most callers even though I have good hearing) and the signal-to-noise ratio was low due to a constant hiss. The Siemens also had dreadful message recording quality.

This Panasonic is digital but not spread spectrum. The incoming voice quality is good, almost as good as a corded phone. It lacks the hiss of the DSS phones and the volume is good (and adjustable). The message recording quality is also good: low distortion, low noise, and good volume.

I have not had any of the battery problems of other reviewers. I dial into a weekly hour-long meeting and put the handset in speakerphone mode and mute: The phone has never lost power. We keep it in the base whenever the phone is idle.

This is the best digital cordless phone I have ever had. It would get five stars except for two problems:

1. The outgoing signal is too low to the point that our callers often have problems hearing us. I also have a hard time hearing the answering machine messages when I retrieve them remotely.

2. The answering machine often cuts off callers leaving messages in mid-sentence even when there are no long pauses. This seems more likely to happen when the incoming volume is a bit soft and the available memory is more than one third full.

Panasonic said I should send the phone in for repair, but if these are a fundamental design flaws, I'm doubtful about a repair fixing these problems. I could get an amplifier to boost the outgoing signal, but I shouldn't have to go to that effort and expense. So overall, this product gets three stars. Still, it's far better than the Siemens, which was twice as expensive.

Summary: too many features, but terrible reception
Review: this phone has terrible reception. purchased thinking to use it on the main floor (as a prime phone), but ended up using it as a spare phone when all other phones in the household are dead. even the "static reduction" device (or whatever its name is) that came with this phone doesn't help much... i finally got rid of it. 900mhz "sonies" are much better!

Summary: Great Phone but the battery life is terrible
Review: This phone is great, all the features, the speakerphone built into the handset, etc. The biggest drawback is the battery. THe battery doesnt hold the charge well, or maybe the phone draws to much from it. Ive had numerous cordless phones over the years, but this one takes the cake. We always have to put it back on the charger, it never lasts more than a few hours off the charger.

Make sure when you hang it up for a recharge that the phone is faced toward the base, meaning it charges more quickly that way, the only drawback is that you cant see the caller ID screen that way.

Summary: Terrible quality - don't waste your money!
Review: This phone is not worth the money! For starters, the battery will not hold a charge and the phone gives no warning that the battery will die. In addition, the reception quality is horrible - is constant static. The speakerphone is a nice feature, but it is difficult for people to hear you on it. Stay away from this product.
