Rating: Summary: Bells and whistles may not be enough Review: Another example of call clarity being sacrificed for loads of features. Not only are voices muffled in your ear when using the phone, your own voice "crackles" with slight static at the other end. This phone does have it all -- Caller ID/IQ, answering machine, headset jack, handset speaker phone, etc. But if you put a premium on clear reception and transmission, keep looking.
Rating: Summary: Horrendous Battery issues Review: Do not buy this phone. After charging for 2 days, we still can not get any more than 5-10 minutes out of a FULLY charged phone. No warning just CLICK, and now the phone battery reports getting low. Phone was fine for first couple weeks, and apparently this is a common problem with this model ... YUCK. And I loved my old Panasonic
Rating: Summary: Lack of clarity Review: I bought the Panasonic because I have one and am very happy with it. This phone also had all the features I was looking for. We are just starting to use the phone and find that the person being called finds the caller's voice very hard to hear. It doesn't matter whether you are using the handset or the speaker phone. Unfortunately, we are now outside the return policy of the store it was bought from and am hoping Panasonic will step up to the plate. I suppose this will turn into another example of a store just wanting your money without providing any service or usable product. Wish I had read these reviews first. It is unfortunate because the combination of features is great.
Rating: Summary: Worst phone I've EVER had Review: I bought this phone because of the features. I was happy with it for about a month or so, then the problems began. Accessing the caller directory is a guessing game. How will I access it this time? Press the right arrow key and then the down arrow to scroll through? Oh, that doesn't work this hour...this hour I have to just press the down arrow key. Next hour it's pressing the right arrow key twice, THEN the down arrow key. Grrr! The battery worked fine for about 2 months. Now it can't hold a charge and my max talk time is 30 minutes. It takes approx. 6-8 hours to recharge it enough to again be able to talk 30 minutes. Stay away from this phone. I'm now researching V-Tech and the Olympia OL. My requirements are fairly simple: CallerID, an easily accessed caller directory, and the ability to see the last 10 or so calls, a battery that can hold a charge and a decent "talk-time". I thought these were fairly common, simple items to expect in a phone of this supposed "caliber". Obviously I was very wrong. Too bad there isn't a way to give 0 stars or "negative" icons!
Rating: Summary: Finally, I know why my gift sucks... Review: I bought this phone for my folks as a gift. Couldn't talk to them
on the phone since then... It was almost always out of power...
What's wrong with the batteries, my fellow engineers?
Now I accidentally read these updated reviews on the phone and
90% percent of unhappy buyers say the same. What am I going to do now? Who the heck will give my 119 US dollars?
I've got nothing but call my folks and ask them to throw away
the garbage i bought for them. What a shame, Panasonic!
(...)
ciao.
Rating: Summary: Bad battery, bad reception. Review: I bought this product on the strength of good reviews from Consumer Reports. It had poor reception right out of the box (our other cordless phones are crisp and clear at the same jack). It alternated between sounding like a cell phone with a weak signal and sounding like I was having a phone conversation in an echo chamber. Within weeks the battery would not hold a charge through a single 5 minute call. Took the phone back to Best Buy, which declined to exchange or refund because an extended warranty was not purchased. We left it in a heap on the counter at Best Buy and said good riddance (to the phone and Best Buy).
Rating: Summary: Something amiss with the battery Review: I dont know what Panasonic have done here, but I cannot complete a long conversation (say 75 minutes) without the battery going dead. Lately, it has been far less than that. This is starting with a full charge. You would think that in a cordless phone this would be something they would get right. Unfortunately - it makes the telephone worthless - and I will have to return it. What a pity - I thoughtI could rely on Panasonic.
Rating: Summary: Bad battery, bad reception. Review: I had to make a switch from my beloved (and old) 900Mhz Uniden EXAI7980 (read my review) after it "expired" on me. Being used to a particular phone for years, I decided to purchase a system with similar features in the 2.4Ghz range. I found that this model from Panasonic has got the most complete set of options for basic cordless answering systems. By the way, Amazon's description of this system may be misleading; it is actually a cordless "answering system" and not simply a cordless "telephone". I'm a practical user, I really don't have the need for setting caller IQ or maybe even enter or donwload 40 or 50 phone numbers into the system. What I really wanted was ease of use, a quick setup, reliability and a good manual in case I get stuck. A quick-installation manual was included, no need to open the big, detailed instruction booklet to simply hook up and get the phone to work, that's one big plus. With this quick 6-page guide I was able to set up and understand the most basic features most people will ever require: Recording the greeting message (I love that part!), setting up the day and time, listening to messages locally and remotely, using the handset, where the buttons are and what they do. The detailed instruction manual explains every feature in detail. You'll see a diagram of every button on your phone and what page in the manual explains their use. I have no problems with battery life, either I am a lucky person or I simply followed the instructions to charge the handset for at least 15 hours before even lifting it up. No problems with reception either, I followed the clear instructions on the guide to locate the phone away from electronic equipments such as TVs, PCs and microwaves and to place the phone base as high as possible in a central location. One additional plus about this phone is the presence of dial buttons on the base unit. Sometimes this important feature is overlooked. In case the handset's batteries run out, you can still dial numbers using the base and talk using the speaker phone. Overall, this is a good product.

Rating: Summary: Don't buy this one! Review: I have exchanged two phones and am on my third one the box says 11 days standby five hour talk time. It is more like 30 minutes to 1 hour max. Love the features but can't live with the Battery problem.
