Summary: Bells and whistles
Review: But what if you don't care about bells and whistles? Nice phone, but doesn't anybody make an intuitive phone/answering machine that flashes brightly when there are messages and has a simple large button that you press to retrieve those messages?

The menu is easy to navigate through, and the instructions are great. The audio quality of the message playback really doesn't impress me.

Summary: There's got to be something better
Review: My complaint is that, when listening in the handset, I hear too much "snow" or air noise. It's not AWFUL, but I wish it wasn't there. I was going to return it but realized I already sent in for the rebate (and as a result the UPC is missing) and so I can't. With all the techonology available these days, I'm sure there's a cordless phone that's better.

Summary: Can't talk very long
Review: I purchased this phone a couple of years ago and have already had to take it back to the store and replace it twice. The battery life doesn't last more than 10 hours when it is unused and only about 1 1/2 hours if you are talking on it. The clarity on it is great but the phone was not worth [what] I paid for it.

Summary: No Support
Review: I have had the 4015 for over a year. The other day, the base unit locked up. I called "customer care", it was anything but. Their recommendation to me was to buy another 4015 unit, at [full price]. I have 2 other handsets, so I am pretty much locked into buying another unit or trying to sell the ones I have. They have no service option, and don't allow you to purchase just the base unit. I really liked the performance of the unit, but can not recommend it due to the complete lack of service options.

Summary: Really like but with some reservations
Review: This is my second shared phone system. The first was the AT&T 2230. We were really happy with that one but it was only expandable to 2 handsets and we needed several more. Secondly, even though the features, audio quality and range were great, it suffered one defect. The one or the other handset would start whistling for no reason. It could only be stopped by pulling the battery or 'off-hooking' the handset. I had great hopes for the Siemens 4015. Depending on the source, it was advertised to be expandable to up to a total of 4 handsets. I was never quite sure if the ads referred to 3 additional sets or a total of 3 handsets. Several product descriptions specifically indicated expandability to 4 handsets. I found out that it appears to accept more than a total of 3. Additional handsets get the same intercom channel 3. So now I have 2 handsets with intercom channel 3. I suspect they will work together in that if I try to call intercom channel 3, both will ring. I have not yet confirmed this. This telephone network is loaded with features and some of them can be a little difficult to access such as the handset volume which is buried in the second menu layer. The big disappointment is that, unlike the AT&T which shares one directory located on the base unit, the Siemens apparently stores the directory in each handset. This means each handset must be programmed separately. It is real hard to understand that logic since the handset is useless without a base unit. That was the main reason for my 4 star rating. Otherwise, I think it is great. Audio quality also seems good. I havent pushed the range but it is good to at least 50 feet, all I really need. I haven't experienced static or noise on either brand set. One feature I can't figure out is the 'music-on-hold' feature. This feature is referenced specifically when making a consultation call to another intercom station. It is not described where the music is supposed to come from since there is no inputs for an audio source that I can find. There is no mute button but I believe it can be overcome by starting a consultation call to an intercom station and just not completing it. It is a little ackward but should work. I can recommend this unit even with the few shortcomings.

Summary: Great phone!
Review: This phone took a little getting used to, but once you can conquer the menu aspect, it's awesome. Very similar menu style to my Siemens Mobile phone. Very nice phone. (looks great in my office too!)

Summary: Good product...just kinda hard to use at first
Review: I found this unit to work very well...I love the digital answering machine. At first, it seemed much more difficult that any ordinary cordless phone. My suggestion is to read the instruction manual before setting up ANYTHING...it makes things much easier. Other than that, everything works fine and I am very happy with the purchase!!

Summary: All cordless Siemens phones-BEWARE
Review: Siemens do not offer repair support in the US on any of their phones once the one year warranty is up. I was willing to pay and send it wherever but no luck there. If your phone system goes wrong, you are on your own! All they do is suggest you buy a reconditioned unit from them.
Until they sort this out, I would recommend not buying their phones. I speak from experience after having suffered their uncaring Customer Care dept.

Summary: Would've been great had it worked well. :(
Review: My husband bought this phone (in addition to the model with a telephone base) for me because of it's simple to use features and because I needed a reliable phone that could go with me while I chased my kids around the house. Unfortunately, it only took a week for problems to arise and they worsened over the next several months. Phone conversations were interupted with a choppy, static like noise. Sometimes, when dialing, the phone would take forever to dial a number only to find that it hadn't connected properly and never completed the dial. We also had problems with connectivity to the base. As the phone would ring, the base couldn't find the handset saying "searching"...and we wouldn't be able to answer the phone without running to another phone in the house.

It has wonderful features, including memory redial of several numbers, call id, an extensive phone directory that's easy to program and much more. Perhaps Siemens will figure out the bugs and put out a better model. So far, we've tried three of these things hoping that the previous model was just a lemon...much to our dismay, they all failed. Wish it had worked better. :(

Summary: Faulty call log feature
Review: The call log feature of this phone worked unpredictably. Sometimes, calls from a particular number would be logged, while other times, calls from the same caller would fail to appear in the log. Siemens recommended that I replace the base unit, which I did. This failed to correct the problem. They recommended replacing the base unit again. Instead, I just returned the whole phone system. In addition to the call log problems, the phone also often made an unusual clicking noise during telephone conversations.

Amazon[.com] was extremely helpful throughout this whole process and I give Amazon[.com] five stars for their customer service. Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for the Siemens phone.
