Summary: Good phone, but curious mix of features
Review: This is a good phone, but it is curiously missing some features that are standard in cheaper phones. No redial button, no selection of ringer sounds, and the built-in directory is clumsy. If you have caller ID, a light on the base unit blinks continuously, forever, until you review the caller ID list on the handset. Overally I'm satisfied because of the sound quality (A+) and the ergonomics of the handset. But it's definitely not the epitome of cordless phones.

Summary: Fantastic Phone Hobbled by Serious Oversights
Review: I owned the former Panasonic 2.4 GHz and eagerly awaited the release of this new version. I couldn't wait to have the built-in Caller ID, smaller handset and digital answering machine.I soon discovered some new "features" that made it less superior than its predecessor in many ways. The LCD menu on the handset seems very cool, but reveals major flaws in the user interface. To redial, you have to click at least 3 buttons, perhaps more as you have to "scroll" through your directory. That's terrible - give me the old "speed dial" and number system on the former model (and most other phones). Here's another problem: there's a great speakerphone but no dialpad on the base! So if you want to use the speakerphone, you have to start with the handset (I noticed Panasonic has since changed this on the non-answering machine models). But here's one major plus and a feature I have never seen on another phone. You can listen to messages directly on the handset - a great boon for privacy. Overall, I am only satisfied with this model, when I was thrilled with its predecessor. Hopefully when 10 GHz phones come out Panasonic will have realized some of their mistakes in this latest model.

Summary: KXTG2570S 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone RECOMMENDED!!!
Review: I was very confused to see the mixed reviews on this remarkable phone. The sound quality is excellent and the range is very good (I've actually left my apartment building and roamed around the perimeter while speaking on the phone). Standby is extremely long! I've left it off the base for a little over a week, with regular useage and the batteries lasted. This is a great quality phone, and amazon is the only place that sells it at the best price NEW (not re-furbished). I'm sorry to hear that other people experienced low-battery signals, poor reception, etc. - I've had nothing but SUCCESS with this phone and I'm buying two more from amazon as Christmas presents! A+!

Summary: Nice for the first couple of months
Review: This phone is great in theory. After a couple of months, everything falls apart. I've read the other reviews and all complaints are consistent with my experience. I've owned my phone for less than a year and I'm throwing it in the trash. The range deteriorates with time and I often receive "out of range" warnings, even when standing next to the base. The sound is distorted and at times I hear nothing but static. I don't have time to go into detail, but this is the WORST phone I have ever purchased. You'd be better of with the $10 special from Radio Shack.

Summary: A major disappointment
Review: By far the worst phone I have ever purchased, for a number of reasons. 1. The talk time/standby time stated by the OEM is just plain not true. After 2-3 hours talk time, the phone dies, most of the time while I'm within 10 feet of the base unit. 2. Uneven performance. I am, many times, standing right next to the unit, pick up the handset to make a call, and the phone beeps and goes static and says I'm out of range (2 feet from the handset) 3. It gets very hot after talking on it for a while. 4. The answering machine cuts people off for no reason, despite programming the unit to let message-leaving callers go on for as long as they want. Messages also disappear - too many people have sworn to leaving messages that were never received. 5. Last week, my programmed numbers suddenly disappeared without explanation. 6. Every time I talk on the phone people say they can't hear me, despite talking directly into the mouthpiece. I must say, I debated a long time about this purchase.... But, I've always had excellent experiences with Panasonic phones, so I went for it. Big mistake - and too late to take it back. Keep shopping, or buy one of their lower-end phones with much better performance.

Review: I have owned several cordless phones and, in the long run, this was the worst. Performance was not much different than a 900MHz for the first couple of months, though there was an odd "muted" quality to the sound; range however dropped quickly. I was soon unable to go from one room to another without getting unbearable static. Not much later, the charging contacts got tempramental and the phone needed serious jiggling to juice up. Finally, after about four or five months of ownership, the phone died altogether. If there was just one problem, I might be tempted to blame a faulty unit; with nothing but problems, I have to blame the model. Over on the cnet site, you will find hundreds of similar complaints about the panasonic gigaphones. Don't waste your money on this one.

Summary: Not smartly designed
Review: Somehow I don't find this user friendly. The main reason being the functionality of Redial button. You need to select menu, then redial, and then talk to redial a number. Three buttons to redial? Who likes to do that????? Some other minor things that bothered me are the blue colored navigation button and the size of the TALK button. It is so confusing when you hang up the phone as you need to make sure you are disconnected. For this price they could have given a caller id on the base unit too! I am glad I did not pay to get this one. I had it as a gift.

Summary: mixed reactions
Review: Most of the time, the phone produces very clear sound. However, there are times when conversations are marred by popping and clicking and random fuzz, and there have been two or three times when the static got so bad I was forced to switch phones. I can detect no pattern to when these problems occur and have not discovered any way to eliminate this interference (pressing the channel button does not seem to help). When I plug a headset into this phone, people I am talking to tell me that the sound is louder and clearer than just using the phone alone. I also hear better when using the headset. This is the exact opposite of our previous AT&T cordless phones, which I was unable to use with a headset when talking to someone who spoke softly or who did not have good hearing. The answering machine seems to work well. I really appreciate being able to delete any individual message while keeping others. However, I was disappointed to discover that there is no provision for leaving a voice memo that another family member could listen to when they got home. Although it is possible to store lots of phone numbers in memory and enter a name to go with them, it is not particularly easy to dial a stored number. It takes a minimum of 5 keys to dial any number in memory.

Summary: A problematic phone from day one.
Review: I've owned this model phone for just over one year and I have endured many annoying malfunctions; finally the handset is unusable. Frequently the phone will not dial the currently displayed number, but instead just gives you the dial tone. The only way to "reset" this behavoir is to cradle the handset for a second to restore normal operation. Occasionally, the hand set will display an "out of range" message even when standing next to the base unit; this in now a permanent malfunction. The sound quality from the handset is clear but contains some strange distortion that makes some callers sound mechanical. Much worse is the ansering machine sound, some messages are very hard to understand while the others would only rate fair to good. Obviously I've wasted my money on this phone and I have soured on Panasonic.

Summary: Best phone on market
Review: This is the best phone out there. 1. The speakerphone is like one of those high tech conference call systems used by large companies. Everyone I call with the speakerphone loves how I sound on it. 2. The range isn't that great. Not even close to half a mile range. But still it'll go through thick walls etc. and you can use it outside. I think I may be having trouble with range because I live on a steep hill. 3. Sound quality is perfect. 4. Answering machine and caller ID do the job also. 5. It looks cool as hell and is fun to use.
