Summary: Given another chance I would not buy this phone
Review: I'm rrrreeeaaallllyyyy glad that I didn't listen to all the bad reviews that people have given to this phone. As soon as it was delivered to my door, the phone has been great. The Caller ID takes a little long to pick up, but I've dealt with worse. The ring is great because it's not too loud, but not too soft. I've got 2 little ones at home and when they are taking their naps, the phone use to wake them up . . . not anymore!! The battery on it is great compared to the last VTech phone that I had. The answering machine is a little annoying because I have to listen to "Message 1" then "Message 1 erased", but I can get over that. Oveall, I'm glad I paid the money on the phone and it was completely worth it.

Summary: Best phone I've ever used so far
Review: If you need a phone that doesn't beep at you while you're talking, this is the one. Its got the longest battery life! I hate to use the other cordless phones around the house now after I got this one. I always forget to recharge my phones so when I use them the batteries go dead in the middle of an important conversation. But I have never run out on this one. And when I remember to recharge, it loads it up for another tireless round of talking. I've had this phone for almost 6 months now, and the batteries are still in good shape. Other phones I've had would have good batteries in the beginning, but start diminishing in capacity within 6 months despite leaving it on the charger for days at a time.

In addition the to batteries, its great to have a nice, sleek, modern design that looks good when there is company. A real plus is the lighted keypad for finding the phone in the dark.
Its just a great phone with all the works - caller id, and answering machine - at this price!

The only bad thing I noticed is that the volume is kinda low, even on the highest setting. Its not so great if you are talking with the TV on or have other noise in the background.

Summary: I want to take a sledge hammer to this phone
Review: If you've seen the movie "Office Space" and remember what they did to the copy machine, that is what I want to do to this phone. If I walk 10 feet away from the base, this phone gets static. I can barely hear people on the other end, even with the volume all the way up. The recordings on the voicemail are almost impossible to understand - they go in and out. The rubber grips on the side of the phone smell like tires, and leave the smell on my fingers after use. This is the worst phone I have ever used in my entire life, literally.

Summary: Just don't do it
Review: Lured by the price. Looks good. Sounds terrible. In fact, since I moved into a new house the phone is all but unusable. reception is horrific. Can't really change channels. Intereferes with wireless network. I am here looking for a new phone as i write this review! My el cheapo VTech is now my refered phone. Wish i dould find the receipt to return this POS.

Summary: Great Value For The Money!
Review: Motorola MA361 Cordless Phone with Answering Machine

First of all I just have to mention the owners manual, reminds me of the one for my Casio watch....very tiny! My first thought after seeing the manual was that they must have left out some information about the phone and sure enough they did. So far I've been through the manual 3 times and can't find anything about the little light at the top of the handset. I'm not sure what it does besides light up when I press the talk key, surely that can't be all it does. First impressions though are favorable for Motorola's 2.4 GHz phone.

Lets talk first about the sound quality; it's excellent but could use a little bit more volume, better than most though. One thing that was quite annoying was when I punched in a phone number and hit the talk button I would put the phone up to my ear and hear the beeps as it was dialing, it was loud enough to make me want to pull the phone away from my ear. As far as I can tell no hisses or static just quiet, the way it should be. The buttons are laid out well and Motorola has made them so that minimal keystrokes to buttons enable features. Take for instance the large "TALK" button it also disconnects the phone. Caller ID is accessed by just pushing the up and down arrows. One caveat is that there are only 10 memory slots for holding phone numbers and each is assigned to numbers 1 thru 0. Maybe the next generation of Motorola's will be a bit more generous on the memory. On the plus side the 10 directory numbers do hold names and numbers and are easily accessed by pushing the "mem" key followed by the number, 0 thru 9. The answering machine can be assessed by the handset and all features are available except for the recording of outgoing messages. I do wish manufacturers would allow for the recording of outgoing messages using the handset, I can never seem to get a good recording using just the base unit. The answer machine is easy to use using a minimal set of buttons. The outgoing message like I said earlier is nothing to get excited about, decent but not great. Oddly enough the recordings left by callers are of much better quality than the outgoing message, probably due to the out going message being recorded via the base. The handset's display and buttons are backlit, great when you want to make a call from a dimly lit room.

On the whole Motorola's newest entry into the cordless market is fantastic and with a minimal set of dollars you can get a lot for your money. These new phones are analog and don't offer the security as their digital counterparts but I've been told sometime this year Motorola will be coming out with a whole new line of digital products. I would like to see Motorola expand their product line to include a multi-phone system. You will not be disappointed in MA361 unless you're looking for more directory entries.

Summary: Answering machine does not work properly
Review: My boyfriend and I bought this phone at Target about one month ago. We liked the look, the price, the fact that it was cordless, from a great brand, and that it had an answering machine. It was easy to start using it. The battery last long but the ringing tones are way too low. It works well by the microwave although we get some static. We were shocked when we started to get messages we could not hear. The voice on the machine goes up and down so badly that it is impossible to determine who was on the phone and what they were saying. We are about to go back to Target to return it. Thank God we have the receipt!!!

Summary: Amazing Phone!
Review: My husband got me this phone to replace the digital cordless model we had. We live in an area of high density housing and we were forever having problems with crosstalk from our neighbors and couldn't find a clear channel.

This phone solved all those problems, we can get clear channels, it's easy to setup and use. I can listen to my answering machine messages and change options from the handset, and with a volume control on the handset I can adjust the phone so I can hear whomever I'm talking to.

The only complaint I can find with it, is that the center talk button is big enough for my 1 year old to shut off the phone if I'm not looking.

Summary: handset is junk
Review: The predecessor to this model (MA350) has what appears to be the same handset. We had the phone for a little over a year (just beyond warranty) and the buttons started malfunctioning -- which is maddening! I thought Motorola would be a good quality brand, but now I must add it to the list of companies whom I don't buy phones from: Panasonic, Motorola.

Summary: Durable Telephone
Review: This is a great telephone and answering machine. It's easy to set up and to use. It has good sound and a modest set of features. I looked at many cordles phones with answering machines at local department stores and most in this price range felt cheap when I held them in my hand, ..... with exception of the Motorola.

My two year old has already dropped this phone 3 times and thrown it once and it still works like it did new out of box. I will buy Motorola again!
