Summary: Another drawback!
Review: Be aware that this system does not feature intercom capability.
Whitch means:
- You can't have intercom (offline) use with another person next to the second handset.
- You can only transfer an incoming call from one handset to the other without being able to introduce the call or even ask the other person if he/she wants to take that call.
Otherwise I agree with the other reviews, it's a good buy for that price.

Review: Cool product. Just wish this was the kind that could be used with a wall-hanging jack...oh, well. Very nice features and sound...excellent range. More features than I would have ever expected at this price.

Review: Got this yesterday and love it! The reception is great, its light and the additional handset is so handy to have. Caller ID and features you would find in more expensive systems. Great value for money.Con: None except it is not the most well built as the plastic makes it look cheap but who cares!

Summary: Charging of the Phone
Review: I have noticed that neither phone will not charge in its base unit. When you rest the phone on the cradle, it will not charge unless you provide additional support to keep the phone on the charging contacts. At present we use a popcicle stick to position the phone so it will charge. This is a trick we learned from a previous Uniden phone purchase. That phone took 2 years for the problem to develop, this phone set took 3 months. We have always liked the Uniden phones for their clarity and sound quality, but a phone that won't recharge is of little use, no matter how great the sound quality. This will be the last Uniden phone that we purchase. At least with this phone the keypad didn't stop working too, unless that will happen in the next few weeks!

Summary: Great range! Great phone! Great buy!
Review: I love this phone system! I bought it over a year ago and I still love it! The clarity is near-perfect, the range limit is great, and I love that you only need to plug it into one phone jack! The best part is storing personal phone numbers and then assigning them their own ring tone, so I always know who's calling before I answer the phone or even check the caller ID!

Summary: Worst Cordless Phone Ever!!!
Review: I purchased the TRU446-2, because I wanted to add two more headsets to my existing Uniden TRU4485-2. Of course, good idea, bad implementation. The headsets are not compatible even though they look identical. Turns out the "-2" means that the maximum amount of headsets that will work with either base unit is two. So, instead of working as one base with four headsets, I really have two bases with two headsets each. Funtionally, I'm able to do what I originally wanted. However, I have to make sure the right headset goes on the right base! Nonetheless, I decided to keep them. Besides, I paid only $54 at Target for the TRU446-2. I'm happy with the headsets as they do what they are supposed to do. Sound quality is not the greatest, but I've never had a problem hearing or speaking. My only complaint is one of the headsets voice goes out. I have to bang it on the counter to get it to kick in. Once it works, it works fine. I have a feeling this is a defect as I've seen this complaint in another review. I'm hoping this does not occur on the other headsets. If it does, then I will give up on Uniden and buy a better quality system.

Summary: Worst Cordless Phone Ever!!!
Review: I purchased this phone to replace a single handset 900 Mhz Uniden phone that I loved. Since I am a gadget junkie I decided to go with the 2.4 Ghz, and to my surprise it was much worse. I read someone else's review that compared it to a cell phone, but my cell phone is more clear. I would recommend no one purchase this phone. It is a great concern that you can not even count on consistency from the manufacturers of cordless phones. Every time I buy a new phone, I always end up buying a different brand in order to find the quality I am looking for.

Summary: Doesn't play nice with Wireless internet
Review: I've got mixed feelings about this phone. When we first got it, the sound quality was great, but over the last few months it seems to be getting steadily worse, even if you change channels on the phone. I do, however, like the large phonebook you can store, making it just as easy as my cell phone to find friend's phone numbers. The biggest problem I have with the phone is what it does with my wireless network. If you have a wireless router for your DSL or cable modem internet connection, then I'd advise skipping this phone. As you might know, popular wireless networking uses 2.4ghz as well. Theoretically, digital spread spectrum technology should keep the phone from interfering with the wireless signal. This phone, however, created two problems. If someone is talking on the phone close to someone using a laptop wirelessly, the phone becomes quite noisy, and the laptop's wireless signal vanishes, coming back intermittently. I've taken my phone to a friends house, who has a different brand of wireless router to find out if the problem was with my router, but again the same thing happened. Next, we took his panisonic 2.4ghz cordless phone to my house and tried the same thing - but the laptop stayed connected, and we never had a static problem. Another thing you should know about almost all 2.4ghz phones is that they are prone to noise from your mircrowave. Microwaves emit a 2.4ghz signal that will fill your phone with static. If you want a 2.4ghz phone, move your base station as far away from your microwave as possible.
