Review: I purchased the TeleZapper. Imagine my surprise when we continued to receive calls from telemarketers. The Telezapper only blocks computer-made calls. It blocks all computer-made calls, even the ones we wanted. We were getting a large number of telemarketing calls not dialed by computer. We found the noise that it makes annoying as well. I returned it for my money back. With the new "do not call" list available at donotcall.gov, we rarely get calls from telemarketers now anyway. I can think of no reason to buy this product.

Summary: It Works!
Review: I received this Zapper as a gift. I got it December 2001 and easily hooked it up. After a few months I received NO computer calls or automated calls. The beep everyone refers to is a short (few milliseconds) when the phone line is first opened.It does not bother the computer when going on-line. Nobody has asked me what the noise is either. But, most importantly it WORKS! The new federal list may work too, so if your patient.... I have had my name on the state list for years and did not notice any change in the number of telemarketers calling. I did notice a change with this Zapper though. As far as I'm concerned this is one of the best gifts I received.

Summary: Works for most calls -- except the phone companies
Review: I recommend a combined approach -- buy the Zapper, and ask to be put on "do not call" lists! We used to get about 10 calls per week, and now we get a couple calls a month. While the Zapper works for only computer-assisted calls, this is a HUGE proportion of the calls I used to receive. If you can get used to the beep every time you answer the phone (followed by dead air when someone gets zapped), I recommend the Zapper. The number of calls diminish quickly, so it is not like you are constantly racing to the phone to hear dead air. When telemarketers do break through -- ask to be put on their do not call list. As a secondary thing, add your number to....., the government's national do not call list. In addition, you can e-mail every phone company and ask to be removed from their call list given that they are the most persistent and have the technology to break past the Zapper. This does not take much time to do -- and the reward (peace and quiet) is worth the investment in the Zapper and the lists.

Summary: Works Like A Charm!
Review: I used to get marketing calls almost every day with calls in the months leading up to the holidays hitting my phone both in the morning and evening. Finally I had enough of the marketing call hassle and decided to fight back. I put a TelezZapper on my Christmas "wish list" and received one as a gift. I was a little skeptical about the thing and wasn't really sure if it would work but a few days after getting the unit the TeleZapper was on my phone line and I was waiting for the first telemarketer call to arrive to get zapped. I was also waiting to see if it would zap my DSL connection since it's on the same phone line. I didn't have to wait very long. The phone rang, I picked up the receiver, and in about a second I heard the tri-tone signal, and then said "hello" ... the line was silent. I called out again and got no response. I just zapped my first telemarketer and it was great! I booted up my computer to test my DSL line and it didn't skip a beat. I also checked my caller ID and it still registered numbers. Finally, something that actually seems to work! A few things to note: · Re-record your message machine to allow a 2-3 second gap at the beginning so that the Telezapper can beep and not garble the beginning of your message. · Tell your friends about the device on your phone and tell them not to hang up when they hear the tones. Some of my friends just thought they got a wrong number and hung up to try again. · If you're not expecting any calls you may want the call to go to your answering machine first to get zapped and then pick up after you're sure there's a voice at the other end of the line. · If you pick up the receiver before your answering machine picks up, wait for the tones to go off before putting the receiver to your ear -- the tones are loud. Overall this is a great little unit and it really does work with my marketing calls dropping by at least 90%. The next thing I need to do is to place the TeleZapper on my 2nd line -- my fax line -- to get rid of all those junk faxes!

Review: I used to receive at least 10 telemarketer calls during the week. They would all come in around dinner time. We would get at least one call every night. It was truly consistent, so I broke down and purchased the Telezapper with little hope that it would work. I was ready to try anything. I almost bought the older model (TZ 800) from a third party, when I learned that the telemarketers are rendering it obsolete by ignoring the single tone that it produces. That's why I decided to buy the newer TZ-900 with a three tone generator. Immediately after hooking it up, I was still receiving calls during the week. They were hang ups, so that was different. During the second week of ownership was where I noticed that IT WORKED. I could finally have dinner with my family without any interuptions. The concept was very simple, and equally brilliant. I utilize the advanced setting, so the zapper emits three tones that we're accustomed to hearing when we dial a "number that's no longer in service". Hearing the tone requires some getting used to, but once it no longer bugs you, it's completely transparent, if not amusing. I feel as though I have this permanent camoflauge from telemarketers and that's without additional monthly charges. The build quality is impressive for an inexpensive electronic product. There are two shiny screws on the bottom holding the unit together very tightly. Comparable electronics, I've noticed, are made in much more of a sloppy fashion. I hope it continues to work this well. No more Daily News, MCI, or AT&T.

Summary: Think before buying
Review: I used to work in the telephony field, part of my job was programming dialers. The only way this could work is to "fool" a dialer is to broadcast the "tri-tones" that indicates a disconnected or out of service line. This is fine for telemarketing but many credit companies use dialers to verify phone numbers. The last thing you want if you are trying to get a new car loan or mortage is for your phone number come up "bad".

Review: I was getting 2-3 calls a night, now I'm down to 0. I haven't had a telemarketer call for over two months. It's a little expensive for what it does, but who cares, it saves me from a great deal of frustration.

Summary: IT REALLY WORKS!
Review: I was very skeptical about this product but I was at my wits end with telemarketing calls. It had reached the point that I no longer answered the telephone at home. However, this did not deter the recorded telemarketers from leaving a message. So, out of desperation, I purchased the "TeleZapper TZ 900" and received it on January 3, 2003. I plugged it into a telephone jack upstairs, my answering machine is downstairs, and to date I have not received any telemarketing calls on my recorder! Many have come in but when I answered the phone the telemarketers were "zapped" and I didn't have to advise them to place me on their "DO NOT CALL" list. I recommend this product to anyone who is desperate to eliminate annoying telemarketing calls.
