Rating: Summary: I don't know what everyone else's problem is Review: Maybe they don't have realistic expectations, I have owned this phone for more than a month, and have not had any problems. The battery lasts well, the base is easy to use. I would and have reccommended this phone to others.
Rating: Summary: Worst Phone I've Bought Review: Nice features, but all of that is over-ridden by the horrendous battery life. The phone is virtually useless due to the battery life. More good money down the toilet.......
Rating: Summary: We absolutely hate this phone system (Really 0 stars) Review: Oh, let us count the ways:
1) The battery life, as everyone mentions, is horrible. I suspect their recharging unit is not very smart, and thus they kill the batteries thanks to overcharging due to the so-called battery 'memory effort,' but I do not know this fer sure. The battery in one phone has now died on us, one is now so faint you can barely hear it, and the last one doesn't recharge much, and dies within the span of a 10 minute conversation when 'fully' charged.
2) There is also a short in the system, possibly related to the bad battery life, that results in the LCD screen blanking out when the phone is on the charger, and it only sometimes comes back alive. This makes the nice Caller ID LCD feature often useless.
3) They are NOT at all cheap for this level of crappiness. We decided to spring for what we thought were 'high-end' phones and got a terrible phone instead.
We will probably try to find the Energizer ER-P511 batteries to see if that solves our problems. But I'm tempted to go back to old but far more reliable phones. Alas, if only our cell phones worked in the house. (DON'T get me started on that one...)
Rating: Summary: No battery problems...great system Review: Okay, I admit it: I was VERY leary of buying this phone. With not so stellar reviews from other owners, I was more than skeptical. But I am extremely happy with this phone system. My search started with 5.8 GHz phones. Since we have a wireless network at home, I thought that these would be my best option. I was wrong. The components felt cheap and the reviews were less than stellar. A friend said that he hadn't had any problems with his wireless network/2.4 GHz phone, so I decided to look at these models. I shopped online to find the best combination of price/features/performance/feel. Then I trucked on over to the local electronics store so I could take a look in person. Hands down, these had the best feel to them: substantial weight but not too heavy, nice bigh illuminated buttons and screen. I like the features as well...speakerphone, headset jack, mute, call transfer, address book, caller id, 2-way radio....etc etc Now for the shortfalls: the antennae is too big, the entire handset is a little on the large size (when you clip the thing to your belt it gets in the way)...the address books don't automatically synchronize...and (this is minor)...each handset acts as it's own caller ID. If you view calls from one phone, it doeesn't 'know' on the other handsets. The 2 way radio feature seems useless since you can intercom from phone to phone (but since I purchased it I changed my mind - we used these to communicate in a car caravan, we saved on cell phone minutes!! But we had to remember the base to recharge for the next day back) Anyway, that aside I must say that I LOVE this phone. I work from home and am talking on the phone at least 4 hours a day. I have had no problems with battery life. In fact, we purchased two more handsets. I recommend this system to all my co-workers and friends looking for a new cordless phone system. Goodluck on your phone search!
Rating: Summary: Much Better Than Siemens Review: Purchased this as a replacement for a wireless multi handset set-up from Siemens. Works very well. Good value compared to others. Recommended.
Rating: Summary: No Need To Shout Review: Telephone reception is fine. The numbers separating this 2-line phone are so what small. I have not read the lengthy manual yet. It appears to have many features. Comfortable to hold. appearance goes great with my decor. We will probably purchase additional phones for other rooms in the house if this continues to perform well.
Rating: Summary: Worst phone Ever Review: The batter life is ridiculous. Panasonic sent me a replacemetn and it still dies after 15 minutes of use. Stay away from this phone! As we speak i'm waiting to speak with Panasonic to see if they have discontinued this item. Update later.
Rating: Summary: Fix for battery life problem Review: The battery life is very poor in these phones after you have had them for a few months. To fix the problem, get Energizer ER-P511 batteries. These are Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries that are designed to replace the low-quality batteries that come with these phones.
After installing these batteries, we have seen battery life improve greatly.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't hold a charge and is breaks fast Review: This is a very poor product from Panasonic. I have always purchased Panasonic cordless phones and had great luck. This unit met all my specifications. I was so excited when I ordered it.
You cannot leave it off the charging station more than a couple hours or the batteries need to charge over night.
Within 6 months 2 units were returned for repair. 6 months later they were bad again but the warranty was up.
For the price I paid I should be writing a glowing review, instead I'm telling you to stay away from this product. It's no good and I'll never trust Panasonic again.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Consumer Review: This is the worst phone ever. Features are cool but battery life is 2 hours if that. It is constantly dropping calls and person on the other end goes in and out. Callers always ask if I'm on a cell phone because the reception is so bad. I have yet to have one conversation that is satisfactory. The booster does nothing. I HATE this phone and am ready to throw it out the window. Do not make the same mistake -- Stay away from this system!!
