Summary: Battery Life
Review: I wrote a review on May 24, 2004 titled Battery Life; and stated I would write an update review on 31-MAY-04. Sadly I was not able to write a review on that day, but since I wrote my first review I used the newly bought phone that weekend for three nights in a row for 6 hours each night. Since that time I have used the phone twice for 6 hours each time. I am not sure what the problem is with the other reviewers that have commented on the battery life of this phone, but it works great for me. The only thing I can think of is they did not allow the battery on the phone sufficent time to charge. The instructions state 12 hours, but I let mine charge for 24 hours before I plugged it in for the first time.

Summary: This phone needs 911
Review: I'm a real electronics fan and thought I had done my homework on this phone. The buttons began to fail within 6 months and several have failed completely now after about 8 months. The phone is now worthless, as the numbers dialed most frequently (those that use our area code) don't work. Call 911, this phone needs medical attention... but if you own a motorola phone, you'll need to use your cell phone to place the call!

Summary: This is a GREAT phone!
Review: I've had my motorola 451 for about 3 weeks now and I have one satellite handset for it. I'm especially glad for the intercom feature which allows me to page my daughter when I'm in my office working, and the hands free on the handset is awfully cool too. People don't seem to care all that much that I have them on speakerphone, so I guess the quality is OK.
Pros: EASY EASY to work with. Caller ID, distinctive ringer, phone book entry from caller ID and neat ring tones
Cons: I can't figure out how to work the walkie talkie and I lost my manual! Can't find another one online

Summary: Motorola For Your Home
Review: Love this phone! Great voice clarity, good styling and long range reach. I love the fact that it is expandable, no longer a need to look for phone outlets! Great phone!!!

Summary: good at first but breaks down
Review: The product was great at first. Sure going by the battery gauge the phone has a short talk time but still lasts more then an hour after saying the battery is empty. So loved it then.

But after half a year the keypad is hard to get working (takes many presses for the button to work) and the phone has these weird bugs. Some times when a call comes it it doesn't ring with the phone in the charger so it definatly has power and with it out. Some times in the middle of a phone call the phone acts like the phone was hung up and starts ringing like a new phone call is coming in. Only its the same person I was just talking to and no one hung up from what they could tell.

Summary: TERRIFIC! SO Functional and GREAT Value!
Review: This is probably the best phone we've owned. The quality is amazing and the best feature is that it's cordless and has a handset speakerphone. The sound is terrific and no one ever gets static or cut off. I've had horrible experiences with Panasonics and nearly every other phone we've had -- they just don't last or just don't work, but this is very highly recommended. So much so, that I'm going to buy another one to put in another room in our house.

In reference to other reviews, I've never had a problem with the battery in this phone (and have certainly experienced it with others). We've owned it a year now and it's used several times a day and we couldn't be happier.

Summary: OK features, but not worth the price.
Review: This phone feels solid (if not too heavy) and has some nice features. However, the price/performance ratio makes other phones much more attractive.

PROs:
-good, solid feel
-one-year warranty
-nice display
-good reception
-really nice sounding speaker/speakerphone

CONs:
-had many people complain that I was not sounding clear
-may be too heavy for some
-didn't fit well to my ear
-orange/red backlight is *way* too Star Trek for me!

Summary: Greatest cordless phone I've ever used
Review: This telephone is the greatest cordless phone I have ever used. It has excellent reception unlike any other I have tried. I am very particular about my telephones and have owned several other cordless phones previously. The phone has a great display and is easily readable even in the dark. The phone book function makes it easy to store frequently used numbers. I also like the ability to choose from 13 different high quality ring tones - musical tones not the awful screeches emitted by most other cordless phones.

The best thing about this phone is the high quality of the handset and buttons. Most phones these days are made cheaply - this phone is the exception. The handset is very well made and is comfortable to hold even for extended periods of use.

One thing I noticed in the other reviews is the mention of a poor battery life. This has absolutely not been the case for me as I have used this telephone for several hours without recharging in between. I have in fact been very impressed with the battery life.

In summary, I am very pleased with this telephone and have recommended it to many friends. Those who have purchased their own have also been very pleased.

Summary: This phone sucks!
Review: We bought this cordless phone 8 weeks ago at Circuit City. The base failed yesterday. Motorola's only solution is to have you ship it to them (you pay for shipping - and you deal with having to buy another phone in the meantime, or go w/o).
Here's a plug for OfficeMax though - I had initially thought my husband had bought the phone there, and when I called them about it, they said just bring it on in and they would replace it immediately. Circuit City, however, sucks royally. I was on hold for 30 minutes (on my cell phone, of course), waiting for the manager, as the adolescent sales rep who initially spoke with me was mentally challenged by the concept of a replacement phone. Finally after a long wait (and being hung up on once), the manager told me that I could bring the phone in for replacement.
Final words? I'll never buy a Motorola phone again. I hope I can deter a few of you also.
