Summary: Best Cordless I ever got
Review: ... this phone sounds crystal clear. The speaker phone feature is nice, and works so well, people don't believe I have it on speaker phone... I went looking for a decent 2.4 MHz model. All I saw were mostly bad reviews for this phone. Actually every cordless phone review for any phone was mostly negative, so I figured that only people that were disappointed in a product would bother to write about it. This phone had the features I wanted, so I took a chance and bought it. I like it a lot. I wanted to let people know that this is really a pretty good phone.

Features that really sold me: Speakerphone on the handset, multiple phones on one base, NiMH batteries (no memory problems), and Answering machine.

Negatives: It seems a little expensive, but when you realize that you get two phones and an answering machine, it kindda seems OK.

Summary: Digital Fan
Review: After carefull review of all the 2.4 Gig systems
on the market. My selection was the KX-TG 2382 from
Panasonic. The system works fantastic, but keep in mind
to charge the phones for 15 hours before use. Great options,
clear reception and range. My system was purchased at Sam's
Club and the same model came with 1 base phone and 2 additional
phones and charging bases. I needed a cordless wall mount with
answering machine and this design looks and works very well. Although my system was with a additional handset and charging base, the price was a little higher at 175.00. A bargain for the third phone! The only system with a close match is the
KX-TG2352 and in white. Panasonic delivers.

Summary: Panasonic On The Cheap
Review: After having used an older Panasonic cordless happily for the past ten years, I was really disappointed by this product's performance. The call quality was significantly lower -- even the dial tone was weak -- right out of the box. The answering system's playback of messages had the same problem; the messages were hard to hear, and volume control didn't address the issue. Sad to say, the whole set-up went back after a week of use -- and poor performance.

Summary: Acceptable replacement
Review: After thoroughly reviewing all cordless with answering machine, caller ID, speakerphone and extra handsets, this appeared to be the one covering all those bases with value in mind.

Pros: TWO handsets included. This is NOT standard on most cordless systems. Both use NIMH batteries, NOT standard NiCAD (garbage) like on most units. You will most likely never have to replace the batteries, or not for many years.

Quality and reliability of overall phone appears to be good, unlike Uniden. My parents own this same phone, and have for two years. No problems, they love it.

Speakerphone on each of the handsets is excellent. People I call can barely make out that I'm on a handset speakerphone. Being a portable speakerphone is actually more convenient than one built into the base unit. Sound quality is good, volume adjustment is good.

Answering machine is decent, but sound quality out of the speaker on base could be stronger and clearer. However, it passes well enough. Configuration of the buttons on base unit is not too uniform, but you do adjust quickly.

Cons:

I don't think the phones earpiece is comfortable enough. I compared my old 900 mhz this new one and the old was far more comfortable. Why fool around with new design that feels awkward. I really have to move it around to find "the comfort zone." I find myself using the speakerphone often, although my wife, mom and dad have not complained about it. Could be me.

Speed dial is lousy-- in other words, there really isn't one. Sure, you can page down the list of numbers and then hit "talk" to dial it, but if your personal directory is huge, it's painful and waste of time.

Not enough ringer tones (only 6 --and 5 of them are completely obnoxious)

Each unit requires your directory phone numbers to be MANUALLY plugged in! EACH ONE INDEPENDENTLY. No wireless communication between each handset. Again, see what I mean about a huge directory and how tedious it rapidly becomes when setting up the unit? ARGH!! Your products are getting harder to use, Panasonic.

Each unit needs it's Caller ID log cleared seperately. If you get a call and then clear the ID on one phone, you must go and clear the other as well. Again.....ARGH!

Would I buy this phone again? Hmmm...probably not. But I won't return it due to the con's. If you can ignore only a few of the negatives, this may be a decent phone for you.

Summary: Works Perfectly
Review: After years of use, my experience with the Panasonic KX-TG2382 has been very positive. The phone is clear and free of interference or dropped calls. The answering machine is intuitive and the controls are well designed. The ability to easily store numbers and scroll through received calls is great. Also, battery life has never been a problem, but I do keep the phone in its base most of the time.

One slight negative. Each phone stores the calls received and must be cleared separately. This could be a positive, depending on how you use the phones.

Others may have received a defective product, but I have had absolutely no complaints.

Summary: Don't buy this phone (a seven-month update)
Review: Don't buy this phone. Please disregard my post-purchase review of February 3. Calls are dropped randomly, without apparent reason (although this most often occurs when a second call comes in and the call-waiting signal is received). Handsets randomly complain that they are "too far from base" and will not turn on--even placing the handset directly on the base won't fix the problem (it just seems to start working again after a few minutes). I have missed many calls just trying to get a fully-charged handset to pick up when the "Talk" button is pressed.

Battery life is terrible, charge time is lengthy.

Another annoyance--when the answering machine picks up, the handsets' displays change to read "Line in Use". If you didn't get to the handset in time, you miss the caller ID info.

Call quality is fine, and the speakerphone and headset jacks are nice, but everyone has those now.

Expect a high level of frustration.

Summary: Excellent Phone with lots of features
Review: Excellent phone, easy to use and with many features...We love this phone system...2 phones in one and can be extended to three....Highly recommended! Great Buy!

Summary: goodphone but not adequate caller id feature
Review: For the price of this phone, it has very good features except caller ID. Don't expect it to be like cellphone where you can save the phone number and put any name you like in the directory to identify the caller. If someone call from a cell phone, it will list "out of area" and the phone number will be displayed. You can save the number and put the name in directory. However, when that number calls again, it will list "out of area" rather than the name you just put in.

Also, the directory can't be shared between each cordless phone. So, you'll have to enter the same names and numbers in all the cordless phones you have.

Summary: Bad support
Review: I absolutely loved this phone for 6 months. Then one day, one of the handsets stopped working. I changed batteries with the other handset, the battery was fine, the handset just died.
I called support and waited 20 minutes before I could talk to someone. They told me to send the whole set (including the base and both handsets) to Texas, and they would send me a refurbished one.
I would have to buy a new phone because the process would take two weeks (a long time to be without a phone), and I would have to pay for the shipping.

So I decided to go with the single working handset, instead of sending it. It will be a long time before I trust Panasonic again.
