Summary: Excellent Phone System
Review: This phone is sleek--doesn't take up much space at all. Very nice design. Has many practical optional features which are easy to figure out and use. The quality of the sound is excellent. I've previously owned Sony's & Panasonics and the Siemens is definitely superior. Clarity is exceptional. The shape of the handset is good and the buttons on the handset are just the right size for ease of use. My only recommendation would be for Siemens to redo the small window in the handset with a brighter lighting feature. All in all--I'm extremely happy with it and it is Made in U.S.A.

Summary: Just bought it, great so far
Review: I've only had the phone a few days, but so far it's worked just fine and I love the design. We'll see if it develops any problems over time.Previous to this, I had an absolute fiasco with AT&T phones. They wouldn't ring half the time, the answering machine would cut people off after a couple of seconds if you weren't screaming at it, stuff like that. Tried 3 different models, and they were all horrible. This phone, the only other phone I've found with comparable features, is miles ahead of the AT&T. It's definitely designed around the handset, most features are not accessible from the base. Not a problem for me. This seems to follow the trend of most gadgets these days, such as stereo equipment where almost everything's on the remote and on-screen. A note about the batteries: The phone comes with standard AA NiCad rechargeable batteries (a plus that they're standard, instead of the batteries wrapped in a little pack like most phones use). The "battery memory" is a phenomenon of NiCad batteries, it doesn't really have anything to do with the phone. If you want to avoid this, switch to Nickel Metal Hydride batteries, they don't have the memory problem. Anyway, I'll report back if any problems do develop.

Review: i bought this phone 3 years ago and loved it.wonderful german design.very european.handset comfortable to hold and when touching the ear.(some other phones are painful)the sound is clean and solid.(compared to panasonic)120 name directory.AA batteries is very convenient to replace.then i saw the newer siemens,4015 and 4215.
i loved the 2415 so much that i went and bought both the 4015 and 4215.what i found different!!!
contrary to some,describing those new ones as nice looking,i see them very generic design,even though they are made in germany.the 2415 is made in usa,but has an unmistakeable german look.as german as a mercedes.
the sound of 2415 is far superior and cleaner.the 4015 and 4215 sound definitely cheaper.
the 4215 is meant to be inside your palm.this does not make it more comfortable.please siemens!they even make smaller phones.
speaker phone on the 4215 as well on other brands i tried is a joke.it cuts off when you move the phone around!i will not consider a speaker phone feature at this time.
the 2415 is solid color,the 4015 and 4215 are painted.they will peel through usage and look ugly.not the 2415 the color is solid through.
my advice!!!!
run and buy the 2415 before it's too late.
they are the real german siemens .
and for all who gave this model a bad review.i wonder if they did it just to harm siemens.
for me i just compared 3 different siemens.and the 2415 is a classic.

Summary: Lot of Problems
Review: Siemens is a company with a great reputation for hi end equipment, but this phone system is a bad product. On the positive side, the features and functionality of the whole base station idea are fantastic. On the negative side: 2.4 GHz is notorious for microwave interference (I can attest to this), the range was no more than my old 900MHz, callers would daily complain of my voice "digitizing" or "strobing" to the point where I had to get on a hard line phone, the handset is too thin to attempt to cradle between your head and neck. Customer service is commendable, but I sent back every phone including the base set once and am still having problems. Don't buy this phone system.

Summary: A great deal at $40 but not $150
Review: I inherited this phone/answering machine. The answering machine works fine. You can check messages from either the handset or the base. The whole style of the phone is more like a cell phone than a telephone. The buttons are very similar. The speed-dial feature works great. And when you dial out you can't hear the tones, just the dialing sound. Very nice.
The big deal about this phone is it's upgradeability. You can add multiple handsets with just one base/answering machine. Also, it has spread spectrum technology so it changes channels constantly so it's hard to eavesdrop on conversations. If security is important to you then this is the phone for you Mr. Bond.
The machine comes with a plug wire for the telephone wall-jack. You just plug it into the power outlet and the wall-jack and you have a working answering machine system.
There are lots of features including password protection to even use the phone at all. Or you can set passwords (numbers) on certain features. The ones you don't want people changing. Great for small businesses and homes if you like privacy.
The main problem I've had with this phone is people occasionally telling me I'm breaking up or fluttering. A quick redial can fix that but you get the idea. To them it sounds like a fluttering on your voice or maybe as if you're talking through a box fan. Other than that I had no complaints but because of that this isn't the unit for me. Most phones people can hear you when you call.

Summary: The base is great, but those hansets are awful
Review: I lived with this system for about a year, and it was a tremendous struggle. The base unit seemed fine, but as many others have noted, the handsets (also sold separately as Gigaset 2400) are really terrible. For very expensive pieces of equipment they are very unreliable, and the company doesn't seem very interested in helping. In other words, the customer service is really bad. I was very interested initially because the handset is one of the few powered by rechargeable AA batteries instead of a proprietary pack, which saves a ton of money and hassles. In the end, this turned out to be one of the few things I could say good about the handset.
I am VERY impressed with the feature set, but the execution is just awful. What a shame- this system had the potential to be a real dominant product instead of simply a pioneer for the multihandset concept
I gave up eventually and went with a Panasonic Multitalk system- MUCH better- see my review

Summary: Unreliable phone
Review: I had the same problems as everyone else. Pretty much out of the box, nobody could understand me b/c it was very garbled. I sent the almost new phone back to siemens and they gave me a very used refurbished one that has similar problems. On the other side, the answering machine, once figured out, had very good sound quality. Overall a big waste of money.
