Summary: Hey, it's off the shelf......
Review: I used to sell small phone systems, and although this does not compare to the $3500 base line systems I used to sell, guess what? It's wireless for one thing, AND it's not $3500. A lot of the criticism is justified in the reviews I just read, but from a different perspective, all I can say is you get what you pay for, and although a home or small business user may think that $500 is a lot of money for a base station phone and extra wireless phone, and $150 per station for addt handsets, the reality is that's less than half the cost of your standard telephone system out there. Bottom line this is a good off the shelf system, is it perfect? Not by any means, I wish I could configure the voice mail to have trees and multi boxes not tied to a particular extension, I wish the batteries were lithium or something, I wish a lot of things, but we used to charge $500 for an ANALOG cordless phone to tie into a small biz phone system, and the wired sets were like $350 a piece, plus $100 to drop a cable to hook it up, not to mention the thousands spent on the KSU and VoiceMail. It works for me :)

Summary: Buyer beware
Review: If you purchase this product, I hope you are completely satisfied. It is my opinion that the reliability of Panasonic products has slipped in recent years, and this was confirmed to me when a product I purchased quickly failed. The reason I'm posting this is to warn you that the warranty that accompanies Panasonic products only has value if the company chooses to stand behind it. In my case, they weaseled out of it, leaving me with a total loss and no further recourse. Good luck with your decision.

Summary: Stupid Machine, Don't Buy It
Review: In addition to all of what had been written on this telephone, Here comes the following :
- The back lit is too weak to display a thing. Also gives u the feeling of poorness.
- Very loud noise is heard from the wireless handset
- The response of this telephone is slow (check the redial speed)
- Surprise: there is no automatic redial from the base unit (while it should be a small business telephone !!!
- When u press flash & try to redial again IT DOESN'T do that)
- If the line was answered by auto attendant & the caller hangs up the phone takes too much time to realize that, & the line stays busy.
- The range is NOT long enough (compared to other 2.4 GH panasonic in the same circumstances.
- The wireless unit doesn't have a speaker phone ( like the rest of new panasonic models)
- The base unit & the wireless have the choice of ONLY 4 Ringing tones WHY (where is panasonic's generousity that is found in other models?) U have the choice of expandability up to 8 sets while u have only 4 ringing tones ( so if there is more than 4 persons sitting together & one of the sets ring they will have to check which phone is ringing!!!)
- WHEN A CAAAAAALLLL IS PLACED ON HOLD THERE IS NO MUSIC ON HOLD!!! SO IN A SMALL BUSINESS CALLERS SHOULD SING THEIR OWN SONGS WHILE WAITING FOR ANSWER. THE COST OF THE PHONE WAS TOO HIGH, SO WHY ISN'T THERE ANY PIECE OF MUSIC ON HOLD???
- I HAVE LOTS TO SAY BUT IN A SIMPLE WORD : I AM DISAPPOINTED

Summary: Does not work for a small business
Review: Panasonic boasts their "Digital Voice Mail" system but BEWARE. Here are a few basic business scenarios that the Panasonic phone can't handle. Your main number is on line 1. You've set up the automated attendant to answer the phone and direct calls to the right extension. A client calls line 1 while someone is already on line 1. THEY WILL GET A BUSY SIGNAL. The phone's "Digital Voice Mail" system doesn't work. The only solution, according to Panasonic is to purchase "roll-over" through your telephone company and set it to roll-over to one of your other phone lines. So what if you're a busy company and those 2 lines stay busy? Your client will keep bouncing back and forth between the main line and the roll-over line until the line becomes free. There is no way for them to leave a "Digital Voice Mail". Also, if any of the four lines are direct dial (they don't go through the attendant) your client will get a busy signal when they call your line if you are one it, even when you have the answering system on for your line. The only fix Panasonic had was to purchase voice mail through the telephone company. So now you have to check TWO voice mails- one on the phone's "Digital Voice Mail" system and the other through the phone company. If you are a small business do not purchase this phone.

Summary: Panasonic Customer Service NFG
Review: Panasonic customer service makes this system not worth the trouble. Using extension handset with a headset, makes handset eventually think that a headset is connected even when it is not. Panasonic says that I am the only person this happened to (happened to four different handsets). If you need 2 handsets, you better buy 4. If you like this unit- Buy mine! I always bought Panasonic phones, will never buy Panasonic anything!

Summary: Bottom line: there's nothing else like it for the price
Review: People seem to have strong feelings about this product. We thought long and hard about buyint it, due to the many negatiive reviews. We ultimately decided to try it, and we've been using it as the phone system for our 6-person ad agency for about 6 months now.

We run in auto-attendant mode, since we don't have a dedicated person to answer the phone... so we are using the system as a call-director and answering system. Here's what we've found:

The system is no more or less complicated than other multi-line phone systems. The documentation is pretty good.

The system lacks features we'd like. (You'll see lots of complaints in other reviews.) But it's less than half the price of "full feature" systems, so we decided we could live with the shortcomings. Frankly, once we got used to it, we've really come to like the system.

We saw lots of complaints about handsets failing. We bought one more than we needed. Sure enough, one of our handsets stopped working. We called Panasonic and got through promptly. The customer service rep told me to try removing the battery, reseting the handset, and trying it again. He told me if that didn't work I would need to send it back.

The fix didn't work, so I sent it back to the address he gave me (including my receipt and a letter explaining the problem). I got a replacement in about 2 weeks.

So yes, I think Panasonic has a quality problem with the handsets. That's why I give the system 4 stars instead of 5. But I can't complain at all about the service, which was professional and fast. Maybe Panasonic has added support staff since the previous reviews.

I recommend this system for any small business that wants a reasonable feature set at a rock bottom price. Buy an extra extension, as we did, in case one fails... you'll still besaving a LOT of money over comparable systems.

Summary: There has to be a better product out there!
Review: Speakerphone is terrible...no one can hear me clearly...I always have to pick up the handset.

Summary: Base is great - cordless phones are worthless, low quality
Review: The cordless handsets work well for about 6 months - then battery issues (I think) turn the cordless handsets into crap - really - ununsable - static, garbled voice transmission, etc. Also, the number "1" button seems to fail within the first year on almost all handsets.

Also, the base unit has no mute button on speakerphone. All-in-all, I would never buy this system again - and unfortunately, I'm stuck with it now that I have about $1,000 invested all-in-all - it's hard to toss it. I actually only use the base unit for business calls, because the quality is just so bad on the cordless handsets.

Summary: Great Small Business Phone System
Review: This Panasonic system is GREAT! The features are abundant and very useful. I'm not having the same problems as other people, and the "problems" they describe seem to happen because they have not thoroughly read the manual. Let this be a warning that the phone is not necessarily the ideal solution for a home or very small office. This phone is somewhat complicated because of all the ways to configure it, but if you're willing to learn the mailbox system, line selection, and all the little extras that this phone touts, it will be a very useful tool. We happen to use it in a 1200 sq. ft. office with 6 people and multiple rooms, and it works quite well. The only problem we have is there is only 1 mailbox per phone. This is because the phones are bound to the mailbox. For example, if you have 4 people and only 2 phones, you only have 2 mailboxes plus the general delivery mailbox. This is my only real complaint with the phone - I wish it had as many mailboxes as we wanted.

Summary: Conf Calling is not good - No Do Not Disturb or Mute Button
Review: This phone is disappointing at best. I sent it back within a week. Say you don't want to use the automated attendent because you have a voice mail system set-up already. You are on a conf call and want to put the phone on do not disturb so the callers on the line with you don't hear the other line ring. There is no Do Not Disturb button - are you kidding me! Then you are on a conf call and want to work in the background or talk to someone in your office while listening in on the call and find there is no mute button. Don't buy this phone. Even if you did want to use the automated attendent it's a pain to set-up. I also could not get the first line to ring but the other lines did and were set-up the same way. There are not many alternatives for four line phones with cordless handsets but this phone will frustrate the heck out of you and it is not cheap $400+.
