Summary: Great Features, Good Connections, Somewhat Complicated
Review: 4 lines and 2.4 GHz are a great combination. And Panasonic implements this combo. well with their KXTG4000B. Connections are usually very clear. Both the base and the handsets seem durable and stylish.Despite the limitations and problem listed below, I heartily recommend this item. It does well what it's supposed to do, and I consider the lists below to be fairly complete. Limitations:
(1) If a colleague is on the phone, you can't join in on the conversation by just picking up that line. Rather, your colleague has to conference you in after hitting a series of buttons. This is by design for security purposes, but a limitation in my mind. (2) Setting up voicemail is quite complicated ... probably because there are so many combinations of options. (3) While on a call, you can't see Caller ID on the phone you are using. (4) Call lists are fairly easy to set up and great to access. Unfortunately, you can't share set-up lists between handsets or with the base unit. Problems:
(1) One handset sometimes has worse connections than the others. And, it sometimes isn't recognized by the base unit at all.

Summary: I am impressed
Review: After having this system only a week, I am impressed. 6 years ago I spent $7,000 on a fancy system that was a nightmare to install and I had to pay someone to come out if I wanted to change anything. This system does everything that system could do and it is easy to set up.

Summary: Pleasantly surprised
Review: After much review of phone system options, I picked this unit (with 4 cordless handsets) for our small office. It was easy to set up (after careful review of the manual), the voice quality is very good, all of the cordless handsets work, even through the several walls in our space, and the price for the reconditioned base unit ($250) was great. I can't believe how much you get for so little money. The last system I bought five years ago was over ten times more money and didn't do much more than this system. We're very please so far.

Summary: Works Good . . . So Far
Review: After reading the reviews, I was concerned about the quality of the units. However, it was really the only game in town for my home office, since I like to use a wireless headset on the base unit and therefore need a regular "corded" base unit. That left the Siemens and the ATT unit. I just got rid of the Siemens, which was plagued with handset problems. The ATT unit I had heard bad things about. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the Panasonic. It worked great and all the handsets did too. However, after about three weeks, one handset (at the furthest reaches of my house) stopped connecting to the base until I walked a few feet into the next room, which was odd. The other thing that really bugs me is the lack of speed dial buttons. The base unit has eight buttons on the front which are used to page the (up to) eight handsets. I would much rather have eight speed dial buttons for my frequently called numbers. But other than that, I have had no other issues with this phone and seems to do everything pretty well.

Summary: Flexible, portable and downright...
Review: As a small business owner, I was looking for phone system features, without the product and service price tage that usually accompanies such a system. This system does the trick. The combination of auto-attendant for call routing, or the delayed answer Answering system gives you total control of your incoming call handling policies. One gap in the documentation is that you can use the Answering system precisely the same as the auto-attendant, but with answering delay of up to 7 rings. You simply record the auto-message to state "For Bill press 1# etc, or stay on the line to record a general message after the tone". Highly recommend the headset, as we have enjoyed long conference calls out side at the picnic table, taking full advantage of the cordless feature. Death to tangled phone cords.

Summary: Battery life weak and important feature missing...
Review: Battery life rated at 8 hours talk time on Panasonic web site but believe me, it's closer to 2 hours. We've had to switch handsets in mid conversation more times than we should. Also, when talking on the phone, incoming calls are not put into voice mail automatically, they are ignored. Such an obvious feature overlooked (if it is possible, we can't find it explained anywhere in the manual). Also, when listening to messages, you can not save the message on the base unit, you have to transfer it to a handset/mailbox or lose it. Best feature is that you only need one phone jack for 8 handsets, you can put the handsets anywhere you want (near an electrical outlet). Handsets not very comfortable for long conversations. Overall, we wished we'd waited for shortcomings to be worked out. Lots of reasons to buy, these are some reasons to wait or look elsewhere.

Review: I am planning to return my system today (base station and 3 wireless including one desk wireless). Like an earlier reviewer I had planned on this being my primary office phone and I like the idea of having access to my fax line. We have 2 primary offices in our home and so my first serious problem was that the desk top unit did not make a good ofice telephone. Access to all email was impossible by design. There was no way to change which phone number appeared on which line. Also, and maybe this is only me, I wanted a general mail box for each line-much simpler for callers not to have to press any other buttons. Not possible as near as I can tell. Same with caller ID. You can not go back and see which line a call came in on. If you think about the features on a PCS phone you soom see what is missing. The ring sounds are nasty and there is no simple ring. There are only 2 ring volume levels plus off. I found the buttons and display too large and not professional looking. There was occasional interference with a regular telephone. The base station battery is Nicad and it has never charged! Worse it is a very poor location for a NiCad which has a charge cycle that requires full discharge and for a back-up system this is not good. At the CES shouw the Panasonic rep told me there would not be a new version for a year. Too bad. Also, I would like a computer interface (USB) or whatever, so I could more easily make alterations to the setup. Bottom line: disappointed. Alternative solution: Go with AT&T 964 4-line wired systems and a separate wireless system. Ideas?

Review: I am waiting for 2 weeks for this phone and still has not been shipped=- what's the matter with this company? So I really cannot rate the product.

Summary: Dies just after end of warenty
Review: I bought this system about 16 months ago and thought it was great. But after about 6 months one of the remotes would not hold charge for very long and then the sound quality went down. It was replaced under waranty. Now that the waranty is up we are down to one out of five phones working. Replacing battery does nothing to help. They first start to not hold charge and then with in four weeks the sound is so bad they are usless. After spending [alot of money] the response from Panasonic was - "we can sell you replacement extensions." I now skip right past anything with the Panasonic name on it.
