Summary: not that happy
Review: did not have a good experience with these. i called my wife at home and although she could hear me fine i could hardly understand what she was saying, transmission very distorted. we tried moving base to different locations and talking in various rooms. nothing worked to improve outgoing clarity. i was very surprised because my research showed that uniden had a great reputation. needless to say i have returned these.

Summary: Very good.
Review: Great choice for VOIP. All lines clear (4).
Echo on rare occasions but that may be Verizon Voicewing though. I'm happy.

Summary: Muffled Sound
Review: I LOVE the features of this phone but everyone I have spoken to have stated I sound like I am speaking under water although I could hear them loud and clear. So I will be returning the phone and my search for a good cordless phone continues.

Summary: Nice Phones
Review: I really like that you can select from some ring tone that is not annoying. Very feature rich. People have already gone into that so I won't. But if this phone doesn't do what you want, I'd be surprised! No issues with clarity or muffledness that someone else complained about. I really like that you can set Global features that effect all phones. These also have fairly long talk time / battery life. I've talked for two hours during phone meetings and the battery indicator was still full. I also really like that there are multiple visual indicators on the handset that flash when the phone rings. You can mute the rings and still see that someone is calling.

I do have a 802.11b WiFi network and these phones do reduce the signal strength of my D-Link USB Adapter, but not the Intel Centrino product. Regardless, the link quality of the D-Link remains unaffected and I haven't noticed any performance issue. Just note if you are using a 802.11 b or g wireless network, you might be impacted by using these phones.

One thing that may bug you is that the buttons are small on this phone. I don't mind. I like the compact package it presents, but I could see where it could annoy others.

I think these are really worth the money.

Summary: Excellent full-featured phone for a bargain price
Review: I spent quite a lot of time on Amazon searching for a phone that would meet all my needs, and was about to resign myself to paying well over a hundred dollars for such a product. Then I stumbled on this Uniden. What an amazing package! Well worth it at almost twice the price.

I needed a cordless phone because there was no phone jack in the office at my new home (since it was previously a dining room). My old cordless (also a Uniden, but a much older model) was great but had stopped holding a charge, and I had to keep it in the cradle in the living room recharging most of the time, which pretty much defeated the purpose of having a cordless. Instead of shelling out for a new battery, I looked for a new phone.

This Uniden set-up is just great: it allowed me to take the secondary handset and cradle, plug it in in my office, and let the phone recharge between calls. Though both cradles need power, only the primary handset needs to be plugged into a phone line, so it was a perfect configuration for me. The phone is very small and compact, almost the size of my cellphone. The silver/black housing and bright orange illumination (also reminiscent of cellphones) is pretty slick. The caller id was a big plus, and I love the headset jack; now that's all I use. (Check out the Panasonic KX-TCA60 headset, which works great with this phone.) The speakerphone feature on the handsets is also neat, though I haven't yet had a chance to use it, since you can use both handsets simultaneously to mimic a conference calls. Overall, a great buy. I wish more phone manufacturers had thought of including all these features on a phone!

Summary: very frustrating experience
Review: I was so impressed initially with the features and price not to mention the looks of this phone. After (grudgingly) reading the entire owners manual (I did'nt want to miss any options it offered), i excitedly programmed the phones after charging all 4. They only worked well for 5 minutes. Whenever a phone became unplugged for moving, they would not accept calls nor allow dialing. Finally after spending much time trying to reregister or follow other advice in the manual, I gave up solving the problem on my own and called customer service. I talked to 4 techs who were sure they gave me the right advice only to hang up and find out they still would'nt work. I even tried talking direct to someone in repair to no avail. Lastly, in my last attempt in vain, I e-mailed the website and was guaranteed a reply in 3 days. Who wants to wait another 3 days after charging the battery for one day, wasting another 2 days talking to techies who have no idea of what they are talking about and being on hold for at least 15 minutes each time. I was e-mailed several times taking a few more days and the phone never got up and running. Its going back to the store!!!! PS the buttons are too small.

Summary: The best 2.4GHz I've found
Review: I've been through through probably around 5 or 6 different 2.4GHz phones, ranging from $30 all the way up to $110, only to return them back to the store in favor of my old 900MHz phone. I don't run a wireless system through my house, yet all the previous phones had static all through the house to some extent, or those that sounded good at close range to the base but were horrid at more than 20 ft. After buying this phone the other day for $78.98, I just feel in love with it. I've been looking for a nice 2.4GHz phones with one that did not require a phone jack due to lack of one in one of the rooms I often.

So far, the only problem I've had with this is the fact that it is a bit small and I like to hold the phone against my shoulder, but that is more than easily taken care of by the speaker which is a big help. Another downside to the speaker system is that when you talk with the speaker on, the phone automatically turns off the receive so you can't hear them as you speak. I would recommend this to anyone with it's wide verity of options, it is a phone to last for years.

Summary: Not Very Clear
Review: Just bought these phones. Everyone that I have talked to so far has told me that the phone sounds muffled or like I'm talking inside a tunnel or under water. Was surprised to see the good reviews here after my experience. Maybe my phone has newer cheaper electronics? Both handsets on my system are distorted. Will not in basement either.

Summary: Good phone w/cool features
Review: Just received the phone last week and so far so good. The advances in cordless phones have finally caught up in some ways to cell phones. The phone itself has a set of cool features---speaker phone, two way phone to phone capability (like walkie talkies) w/2nd receiver, ring tones, cool orange backlight, and more. Still need to figure out distinctive ring functionality w/certain ring tones though. Phone is sleek and compact and for the price under $65 (including shipping) for base and secondary units, it can't be beat. I researched alot and found this to be most cost effective w/most functionality and best reviews. Buy it and get rid of that other clunky cordless you've been carrying around since your dorm room.

Summary: great phone system
Review: My greatest concern when buying this phone was the clarity of voice. I was not disappointed. Voices seem clear and natural and loud enough to present no problems whatsoever. There is no static on either the main phone or handset number 2.

I was delighted to find that after hammering in some twenty names and phone numbers into the main phone that all this data, as well as the time/date, transferred easily into handset number two.

The 20 ring choices give plenty of interesting rings and music from which to select.

The phone is small and light, much like a cell phone, which makes it easy to hold for long calls.

The display and keypad light up with a very bright orange illumination which makes calling and moving about within the menu quite a breeze.

So I don't sound like a shill, I have tried to find something about the phone I do not like, but so far I have not come up with anything.

I highly recommend this system, and the Amazon price is about the lowest I've seen. Worth every dollar.

Now that I have experimented with the phone for several days, I like it even more. I can walk a block away from my house and still maintain a clear contact with my party.

I have added new names and phone numbers to the phonebook and can easily send these changes to the second handset. Initially I sent all the numbers and names to the second handset. What a time saver!!

The speaker phone works fine, though I rarely use this feature. Voices come across loud and clear but a bit hollow, but I have found this to be the case with most speaker phones.

There are many features I shall probably never use--such as the walkie-talkie option, voice mail, etc.

Still not a dribble of static.

This is one hell of a great phone system for the money. I shall now cast my two Panasonic phones (with a mere 10 memory phone book) into the outer darkness.
