Review: I just bought this phone on Sunday and with plenty of time to charge up. Hello...major static on the phone. Reception stunk. I am taking this phone back tomorrow.

Summary: Great in many ways, really stupid in others
Review: I have had this system for a while now. I really like the audio clarity, and the handset speakerphone works very well. I use it for business conference-calls while telecommuting and people never complain about the audio. This is my second Uniden phone (900MHz FSK digital previously) and I like their products.However, they managed to do some really stupid things by ignoring obvious functionality most people would have wanted; leaving one with the impression that their marketing people must be off smoking bananas somewhere. First of all, there is no inter-handset intercom function. LAME. So obvious! So easy to implement! Spark up another one of those filtertip Chiquitas, my friend. When you add the second handset there is no way to mirror the phonebook/ringer setups. LAME. A reviewer on another site made the comment that this was *good*, because it allowed "roommates" to set their own phonebook/ringers. OK, fair enough. But is this *always* the use model? The Uniden marketing team must have invited only single people to the focus group. Maybe this is the only way they can meet women. Why not allow non-single users who live with FAMILIES not ROOMMATES the option of cloning between phones? Pass me that big yellow doobie, my friend. I'm gonna smoke it while I REENTER MY ENTIRE PHONEBOOK IN THE SECOND HANDSET. Then later I'll get to experience the sheer joy of having to wonder why one phone rings differently than the other, because my wife made changes to one handset but not the other. I'm tempted to use frequent-flyer miles, fly to Fort Worth, and spend the day walking around the Uniden marketing department slapping every third person I see. They'd probably be too stoned to notice, though. Finally, and this is small but really stupid; the only way to tell which handset you have is to load it into a base. Then the UNLIT display shows "HS1" or "HS2". Time to get out the Sharpie markers. Oh, and would you pass the lighter? This banana just won't stay lit...

Summary: Pretty good, not perfect
Review: Good:
- Like the hi-tech looks
- Good hand-feel
- Good sound quality
- Dual hand sets are great
- Sound quality of the answering machine is good. Bad:
- The orange display is OK, but don't love it.
- No paging or waki-talki between the two hand sets. WHY?
- No sharing of adress books between phones. STUPID!!!
- No battery level indicator
- Can't use both handsets at the same time- no conf call. For the price, it should have these features.

Summary: Wireless Network Users Warning.
Review: I purchased this phone thinking that it would not interfere with my 2.4GHZ wireless network. It does. Everytime I got a call or am about to make a call my connection dies. I tried changing the channel my network runs on to 11 which is supposed to be a "lesser-used" channel, but it was to no avail. Pro's
- For a Dual Handset 5.8GHz phone, it is competitively priced.
- Each handset features speakerphone.
- Sleek look of the phone. I find the AT&T phones to be quite distasteful.
- Lithium Ion Batteries which means no "memory" effect. This is one of the reasons as to why I chose the Uniden over the Panasonic Models. Others that I know of with Panasonic phones tend to change their batteries about once a year.
- No Antennae that protudes out of the phone taking away from the look of the phone. The Panasonic phones have to big of an antennae sticking out the top of the phone. However, this may just give the Panasonics better range. Con's
- Interferes with my wireless network, which means that I will return this phone.
- Selection of Ringer Tones. If Uniden is going to offer this feature, Uniden should at least offer a better selection of tones.
- Answering Machine, you have to listen to the entire message before deleting it. This is a problem when people accidentally call you and forget to hang up the phone.

Summary: Better than the others but no standout
Review: I had been a Panasonic phone fan for many years, but the NiCad battery issue finally got to me. All Panasonic phones use NiCad batteries, which have a "memory effect" so that the battery life shortens considerably with regular use. So I bought the Uniden phone since it has a NiMH battery, which doesn't have a memory effect. The feature set also seemed quite nice. After two months of use, I am relatively satisfied with the phone, but not elated. Pros: First, the phone doesn't interfere with my wireless network. This was an issue with 2.4GHz phones, which share the same bandwidth as wireless networks. Second, battery life is respectable. Third, the ring is loud and clear. Finally, having the extra handset and charging station is convenient. Cons: Although battery life is good, there is no way to tell how much battery life is left. One day it was working, and the next day it was dead, without any warning. One of the other reviewers also mentioned this. Second, the answering machine doesn't let you erase messages without listening to each one. This may be idiot-proof, but if you use your answering machine to screen calls, you know what is on the message and just want to erase it. I'll keep this phone, but it hasn't ended my search for a better cordless phone. Seems all the innovation is going toward cell phones these days.

Summary: Superb 5.8 Ghz Phone with 2 Handsets
Review: This phone is absolutely magnificient. I have the phone in two rooms because of the second handset. The voice is very clear and has an excellent answering machine. The Caller ID is very easy to use. The price is good too. Get this phone it will make your life so much easier.

Summary: Nifty features but not worth the price
Review: I'm a slow learner. This is the second Uniden phone I've purchased and I've not been very happy with either one. First the positive: It has a speaker phone on the back which is unusual for cordless phones, and ...It looks cool. Now the negative: The audio quality is very mediocre, it doesn't feel comfortable when I'm holding it against my ear, The buttons on the phone for everything except dialing are a bit confusing. In conclusion: I may be a slow learner but I will no longer buy Uniden phones.

Summary: THE WORST CORELESS PHONE I EVER OWNED.
Review: After paying over $200 (with tax), I found out this is the worst coreless phone in the history. Poor sound quality, poor range, not user friendly. I am totally disappointed with the brand name Uniden, and for all of the people out there, DON'T BUY UNIDEN PRODUCT, ONE OF THE WORST

Summary: The worst phone i ever had!!!!!!
Review: I bought this phone all excited thinking with 5.8 ghz i could go in the back of my yard and still get great reception. I can't even use this phone in my house!!!! I dial out and hear nothing! I have to press any button just to hear anyone speak after i finish dialing, then within seconds their voice fades out again. I literally had to just hang up on everybody i called because they couldn't even hear me and i couldn't hear them. I was very disappointed with this phone. I got it because my at&t 2.4 ghz phone died and i LOVED that phone. I will never buy another uniden product again, this is the 2nd uniden phone i have purchased and both were useless!

Summary: very good phone... if certain things don't bother you...
Review: I bought this phone from a wholesale retailer for about $175 and was very impressed with it at first. It certainly is a good looking phone. Has LOTS of nice and useful features. HOWEVER, it has two VERY BIG downfalls.
-My previous phone was a Uniden 900MhZ SST and it was able to make and recieve calls in the basement laundry room of my apartment building 3 floors down with some minor interference. This phone can't even make it to the elevator, on my floor! How is it that a 900MhZ phone has better range than a 5.8GhZ!?
-You can't talk on both handsets at the same time. Instead, you can only transfer calls from one to another by pushing a button. Don't buy this for range or if you want to talk using both handsets because you certainly will be disappointed. If that doesn't bother you, it may be for you...
