Rating: Summary: Terrible audio quality Review: I have purchased three of these phones now in an attempt to get one with acceptable handset audio quality. (I bought one in an attempt to upgrade my phone service; it was bad - terrible handset audio quality. I returned it to the store, replaced it and bought one extra thinking that the problem was solved. I have two phone lines, hence two phones. Also it is a 40 mile drive to the store!)All three are essentially unusable. When you are speaking into the handset microphone, properly designed telephones provide some audio feedback to the handset speaker so you can hear yourself as you would when speaking normally in, say, a face to face conversation. The feedback on this telephone is terrible; it is highly distored and it overloads easily. All in all, a 0 on a scale of 10 for human factors. For $... you expect some quality.
Rating: Summary: Nice looks, poor design Review: I just received this phone and found that the caller ID is unreadable unless it faces you squarely...ok if mounted on a wall, but no good on the desktop. See the product picture? At that angle, all the LCD segments appear black. Phone also picks up severe hum at various locations in my house. Very disappointing.
Rating: Summary: Oxymoron: great phone; lousy sound. Review: If I want to be assured of good quality, I'll stick to AT&T or Panasonic phones. But the phone I was replacing was a 12-year-old digital GE that had served me well. Moreover, this model, besides being compact, easy to set up and use, had the exact features I wanted, no extra bells and whistles. But, alas, the quality of the speaker phone is no better than that of the model I replaced--messages of callers are hard to decipher, my greeting is slightly distorted, consonants are indistinct, and the "mechanical lady's" prompts are often unintelligible. And, as other reviewers have observed, the liquid display of the Caller I.D. can be set so that it's readable from only one position. If I'm sitting, I can't see it when I'm standing and vice versa. My hunch is that phone manufacturers have invested all of their research and development in cordless models for the past 12 years, merely providing some external face-lifting to the corded models. If you have more time than I, you may wish to check out one of those AT&T or Panasonic models first. Either that, or concede the advantage to a cordless model.
Rating: Summary: Great corded phone! Review: The caller-id text is large and very easy to read if this phone is wall-mounted. We replaced a wall-mounted Panasonic phone because we could not read the caller-id display, which had small text and was angled to favor a desk position. So far, the voice quality seems satisfactory. I like the fact that you can review the caller-id numbers while talking, which I could not do on the Panasonic phone. We have not used the speakerphone.
Rating: Summary: Faulty Design Review: This phone doesn't works properly, the audio level when speaking on the phone (i.e. the level that the caller hears) is much too low. I guess the amplifier design is faulty as you can hear the noise level increase at it vainly tires to compensate. I brought two models back to the shop for a refund. It is disapointing at it is the only phone I can find that has the all features I want.

Rating: Summary: Inferior to our old speakerphone Review: We tried to replace our old speakerphone with a newer model. This one has a very soft speaker volume and makes loud noises if you get too close to the speaker. I like the old version better.
