Summary: Stupid is as stupid does...
Review: Ok, I read all the reviews on the internet about the Bell Sonecor BE50LD Large Display Caller ID unit and inspite of this product getting poor marks across the board, I decided to roll the dice. After all, I could not find another wall mountable large display. I have a home-based business and get tired of having to go to the phone and stoop down to see who is calling every single time. After opening the package I realized there were no AAA batteries provided and no screws for wall mounting. Ok, good enough. After a trip to the store I got what I needed and came back. I set the unit up and everything worked great for the first hour. Then I noticed that the display was blank. Hmmmmm. I checked my connections and when I reseated the batteries, the display came up prompting me to reset the unit (language, contrast and time). I thought it to be just a glitch and it seemed to work fine for another 30 minutes. Then, blank again. I was busy and didn't want to mess with it so I went back to work. A short time later I noticed that the display was flashing to prompt me to set up the language, contrast and time settings AGAIN! Argh. I took the unit off the wall and hooked it up to its own wall jack, checked the connections, reseated the batteries and voila, it worked! For about 1 minute. It then went blank and I have not been able to get the thing to work again. In the trash it will go.I don't know what is more sad, the fact that I could not find a decent large display caller ID that worked, or the fact that our government continues to allow this...(made in Taiwan) to be imported and sold on our markets. Whatsmore it had the UL (Underwriters Laboratory) approval, which used to be a sign of tested quality. Bah! ... On second thought instead of trashing it, I think I'll look for my hammer and...

Summary: Just What We Needed!
Review: This is the only product I have been able to find online that was exactly what we needed. Large enough to see from several feet away, contrast adjustable, weighted on the bottom so it doesn't tip or fall over, and in an almost vertical position so you don't have to lean over or pick up anything to see who is calling - Fabulous! (Insofar as a previous reviewer who must have recd a lemon accidentally, you don't have to 'set' the English (language). Just leave it alone - it defaults to English.) Would recommend to absolutely anyone with vision problems or simply someone who would like to glance over and see who is calling them as opposed to completely stopping what you are doing and leaning or picking up a phone. Just wonderful.

Review: Very nice unit. Only large ID display available with a nice looking case and easy buttons. I easily wall mounted it below the wall hung answering machine (ran power supply & phone cables inside wall so no visible wiring)
The the contrast is good and the large characters are easily read across the room. The flashing call LEDs are quite bright and visible even in a well lite room. ***Bell Sonecor should include two screws and plastic anchors to hang display on as they must have very small heads, not a common item in most homes.
