Summary: ewwww
Review: what a horrid phone! (I bought two of these for home and office use)
In less than a year you could not even use the keypad for dialing as they totally quit working.

Summary: Great phone...
Review: We've always had good performance from Panasonic phones and this one is no exception. The keypad on the base is especially nice and the functions are relatively easy to use. A great phone for the price and you can't beat Amazon.com's customer service and shipping.

Summary: Calling from a "phone booth" ? Poor Handset Sound quality.
Review: As a Panasonic product fan, this phone is not one of their better products. It has great phone features at a reasonable price but poor sound quality for people on the other end of this phone. People you speak to from the handset say you sound like you are calling from inside a box or "phone booth".

Summary: cell phone sound.....but stuck in a wall!
Review: i got this phone last week and i'm returning it today....basically everyone on the other line kept asking if we were calling from a cell phone....not a ringing endorsement!
this is the first product i've ever returned so i am not a chronic complainer. however, this is the second consecutive panasonic phone i've hated and there won't be a third.
looks like i'll pay up and get a better phone by another manufacturer....i'm off to the search function.....

Summary: Do not buy
Review: I would not recommend at all. Had the phone three months and doesn't work properly. I called Panasonic and can not get a new model they will only send me a recondition model, but you have to send your phone to them first. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Summary: All in all, a pretty good phone.
Review: I have had this phone for approximately 2 months and so far I like it. I love the backlit numbers, so you can call in the dark. The caller ID is big and very plain to read when you get an incoming call. The answering machine is good, too. I have two gripes about the phone (nothing major). It doesn't really have the range distance that I hoped for and OCCASIONALLY when I am calling my own home from somewhere else, I can't hear my husband very well if he is using the Panasonic. However, I have never had anyone tell me that they couldn't hear me when I am using it. So, overall I would recommend this phone.

Summary: Good Phone , Can be better!
Review: This is a good phone. i bought it half a year ago and i use it since. the bat life is good (i dont' charge is for days sometimes and it has no problem) and it was droped more then once (and i'm not talking only about the unit, but also the base - thank's to my cat) and it takes it well. one issue about this phone is that it's keys are a little hard to press.

Good Thing: i use the phone daily when i go out of my apt. (4th floor) to the lobby to take the paper and it works all the way, in the elevator and down stairs - great reception!

if you are looking for a good phone - buy this one.
if you are looking for the greatest - go with SONY.

Summary: Great Phone But With Annoying Caller ID Problem
Review: This is a great phone. However, there is one feature about this Caller ID phone which is really annoying: all incoming calls, whether local or not, are displayed with a number '1' at the beginning. This makes calling back the person cumbersome because you would have to edit out the number. In addition, the incoming calls will not be recognized by the built-in phone directory since local numbers are stored without the '1' at the beginning. I contacted Panasonic and they recognized that this is an apparent bug on this and other models. Finally, this would be an even better phone if it also included a Caller ID display on the phone base.

Summary: Great Features¿Substandard Answering Machine
Review: I think all of the features are great-speaker phone on the handset especially-for an affordable price. My only complaint is the answering machine. The outgoing message is terrible quality and I sometimes have a difficult time understanding the incoming recordings, which is a bit of a drag. Either I received a defective answering unit, or . . . I would purchase a phone with similar features but better quality answering machine.

Summary: Size matters
Review: Having tried the entire fleet of smaller Panasonic cordless 2.4Gig phones,I must say size does matter. The KXTC1743B is larger and more comfortable to use. The sound quality is excellent- even when using the speakerphone feature. I've had no complaints, which is a rarity. The handset stays cool for those longer conversations unlike the smaller, more powerful 2.4Gig models. The answering machine is simple to set up and use. The only drawback is the 900MHz signal is not as strong as the 2.4GIG so when I'm at the extreme end of my 10 acres property, the signal drops out. A small incomvience for such a handy, comfortable, cool phone.
