Summary: Good but not great..
Review: The look of the phone is excellent. Nice blue neon lights
on the base and phone. The speaker phone is a good touch, and the connection for hands free head sets is also a good addition.
But..
1) Speaker phone will cut in and out during use well within range of the base, like using a cell phone indoors.
2) Why can't they make a phone that has ergonomics. This one is completely flat, almost forces you to use a speakerphone or headset if you plan on talking for a while.
3) A [$$$] dollar phone and they will not give you a spare battery for the base? Even my old Toshiba included that.
4) One announcement for all three voicemail boxes, would be nice if it could take three like my old answering machine, now callers leave push a button and blindly leave a message in a voicemail box.

I am not in love with the phone, especially for the money. Don't buy just for the 5.8 ghz portion, my 2.4 was just as good. Look for those if you want a deal.

Summary: Better than the others but not perfect
Review: I replaced a Siemens gigaset with this one from AT&T and have no regrets. Granted, the Siemens set has a few extra features than this one but it also died on me after a little more than a year. This phone is also more comfortable to hold in your hand if you're having a lengthy conversation. Another great feature with this phone is that it can be wall mounted. A lot of the other systems don't have this capability. The displays are easy to read, the sound is great and the quality is there. While it may not have speed dial and a couple of other features of other phones, I find this to be everything I need in a telephone and more. I don't regret having bought it.

Summary: Speakerphone
Review: For the life of me, I can't figure out why the base has a speakerphone but no way to dial numbers other than with the caller ID. Also, the 5.8 GHz claims of less interference didn't pan out... It still uses 2.4, so I still have trouble using my wireless card in my computer when using the phone.

Summary: Not even close to the mark!!
Review: On the plus side, nice styling, and the features that are there, work as advertised (although the phonebook feature is useless). Sound is fine, but a bit on the quiet side. The speakerphone in the handset is awsome.

Major disapointments:

1) Not a true 5.8Ghz system, but 5.8Ghz and 2.4. So it still screws up wireless networkse (the whole reason I bought the darned thing).

2) No way to check messages from the handset.

3) Clock and caller ID features are per handset, not shared. This means that you set a whole pile of handsets when the clocks change. Also, deleting caller ID logs must be done on each handset. Very lame!

4) No speed dialing. Holly cow, my $3.99 phone could do that. Why can't a $400 phone system do this do this? Shame on AT&T!

5) Battery life is very short (only a couple of days between charging).

Bottom line...AT&T clearly no longer knows anything about human factors or usability of phones. They miss the mark on almost every score (except sound quality). They are also guilty of false advertising by claiming this to be a 5.8 Ghz phone. Shame on them!

Summary: The baby likes it
Review: The baby loves the blinking blue lights on the handset and base when the phone rings. My point is, it looks great, expensive and hi-tech but is not that easy to use. It does not have speed dialing and you can't dial out from the base unit. But my biggest dislike is the answering system, while listeing to messages it does not display the number on the Caller ID screen. Becase I get lots of call, that feature saves me time as I can see who is calling before they are finished their message and can skip or delete that message. Good points: from the base unit you can record a personal message and leave it in a specific mailbox; excellent sound; clarity; and great range.

Summary: Additional features
Review: I found most of the reviews accurate, but they did not address the features that I needed. First, I wanted NIMH batteries so that I could leave the phone on the base. Most phones have NICD which have memory problems. Second, the phone has a spare battery in the base so that you can switch batteries with the handset if you need to. Be aware that you will lose the handset settings (i.e., the handset clock) if you do so. Third, the base is wall mountable and looks good there. Finally, you can adjust the handset bass, treble, etc (4 settings). It is not needed, but fun. I found the range terrific. The one feature that I can't believe they left out is one button speed dial. It also would have been nice to share address books between phones like the Siemens.

Summary: A mix of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz
Review: I bought this phone thinking it was all 5.8 GHz to avoid possible interference with an 802.11b wireless network at home. When I got home, I found that it uses 5.8 and 2.4 GHz frequencies (one in each direction).

The other issues are that there is not a keypad to dial out from the base. This is a problem if the handset is not in the base when you want to call.

I also found the menu button to be flaky - sometimes didn't register a press.

Summary: Very disappointed in this phone
Review: I bought this phone after quite a bit of research. I was very dissatisfied with both the audio quality of the phone itself and the performance of the answering machine. The phone had lots of background noise ( no matter where the base was located) and was much worse than my 5 year old Panasonic. The answering machine wouldn't disconnect if the caller hung up during the message playback, and would then record the 'off hook' message. Ridiculous design flaw, and no help from ATT's online customer service either. Shopping for another brand!

Summary: One year review
Review: I love this phone. I originally thought it was too expensive, but now see it is worth it. The 3 additional handsets we purchased are very durable. They have been flushed in the toilet (2 year old son), left outside in the garden (me) and "dropped" on the floor of the garage (husband), and we have not one single complaint. I love that you can buy additional handsets for various locations, my son thinks it's a fun game to hide the phone from mommy.
the battery life is excellent, better than previous panasonic, seimens, and uniden phones. we leave handsets off the hook for up to days at a time, and they will still have a charge.
