Summary: 2 Flaws
Review: First of all, as of 8/24/01, Amazon has the wrong picture shown for this product. You'll have to go somewhere else to see an actual pic of the product. Good ear piece design. Good fit and good speaker. The boom is very small and works well. People I talk to when driving my pick-up truck are able to hear me no problem. First design flaw: no volume control. There is an answer/disconnect button on the cord, but no volume control. Too bad. Second design flaw: cheap cord. The cord is a stiff, light-weight grade. This is bad because the cord doesn't want to lay flat against my body/chest. It sticks out, defying gravity, according to the kinks it developed during packaging. It would be much better if it had a heavier, more flexible cord, like those used in walkman headphones. I could deal with the absence of the volume control, but the cord issue drops it to 4 stars (almost 3). Amazon's prices make this a great value, though. I'm using a company phone, so I can't compare the performance against the Nokia headset that came with it -- never had it.

Summary: Finally!!! A decent headset for the Nokia 8260!!
Review: I have also been very disappointed with the earbud that came with my Nokia 8260 and have been looking and looking for a decent headset for the phone. However, due to Nokia making the plug non-standard from other 2.5mm jacks (3 black bands rather than two on the plug), I was HIGHLY limited to what Nokia was selling. Then I found the JABRA EARBOOM!!!

Don't let the picture or the ... Description fool you, the picture they show is of the Jabra Ear Bud (also a great product), and the description says for the Nokia 8800. The Jabra Earboom has a 2-3 inch boom that sticks straight forward from the earpiece with the mic on it.

The colored Gel fittings are very comfortable. They actually fit in very easily and securly in your outer ear, not way in the ear like the one that comes with the Nokia.

The clairity is very good both hearing and speaking. In fact, you will find you do NOT want to talk very loud with it on as it is very loud on the other end, it even picks up even whispers VERY WELL and with great clairity!!!

I really wanted a headset that had an over the ear connection (as the Jabra Earwrap does), but they have not, yet, released the earwrap for the Nokia 82** series. But until then, this product is AWESOME and a lifesaver!!!!

I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone with a a Nokia 82** or 88** series phone!!!!

Summary: Thank you Jabra
Review: I have had my 8260 since ATT started selling them and have hated the Nokia earbud ever since. No one had a compatible headset until I found the Jabra EarBoom and now I am a happy camper. It's comfortable, it works (REALLY !) and has been reliable. If I have to give it a ding for anything it would be the cable. It's a bit stiff - oh well - IT happens and no one is perfect. Bottom line - if you have a Nokia 82xx - get a Jabra

Review: I have tried 2 different Jabra Earbooms. I sent the first one back because I thought it was deffective, but both make clickity clack snap crackle pop noises with my Motorola 720. So, iffen you have this phone, I can't recommend it.

Summary: much better than Nokia earbud
Review: I recently purchased the Jabra Earboom for my Nokia 8260 phone, the Earboom is excellent. As many people have noted in their reviews, the image Amazon is showing with this item is incorrect, as the Earboom features a small flexible microphone that comes approx halfway down your face. With the 6 provided "ear gels", I was easily able to find an earpiece that fit the contour of my ear snugly, yet comfortably. The sound quality for you the listener is quite good, and people I've called have told me that the sound quality on their end is also excellent. With the Nokia earbud that came with my phone, I often found that others couldn't hear me well, as the dangling microphone would bump against my shirt collar or get twisted around. The on-off button is also a much-appreciated feature for picking up or ending call while driving.

Summary: Great product, wrong picture.
Review: It has very good sound, actually I have a motorcycle and I've been using it with no problem whatsoever. People on the other end hear me very well also.

Summary: Don't waste your time.
Review: Maybe I have funky ears but the gelfoams that come with the EarBoom are worthless. I have a Nokia 8260 and love the earbud that came with it. However, I lost the small foam piece (covering the earbud) which actually helps hold the earbud in place. Since then, its been tough to keep the earbud in my ear without the foam piece.

I decided to buy the EarBoom as a replacement. Bad mistake. In addition to not staying in my ear, the intonation is tinny at best. The only reason I gave this product even 2 stars was that it had a foam piece on the microphone portion of the EarBoom which I have placed on my Nokia earbud. Small retribution but worth a couple of stars.
