Summary: Be careful which version you get
Review: I have the Jabra BT200....the UPDATED version...and I am quite pleased with it. It is light weight at less than an ounce, comfortable fitting behind the ear with the ear plug resting gently against the ear canal. Volume on the lowest setting it better than the volume coming directly from the Sony Ericsson T616.

In the last several months there has been a great deal of confusion regarding the BT200 because there are two versions of the headset. The original supports only the the headset profile of Bluetooth, while the later version supports both the headset and handsfree profiles.

The later version of the headset began to be shipped by Jabra in June 2003 and carries firmware version 21B or higher.

You won't know you are getting the later version unless there is a blue sticker on the outside of the box that says, "Now compatible with Nokia 3650 and Siemens S55".

Even if you have a Bluetooth cell phone other than the Nokia or the Siemens, this is still the one to get because with the newer firmware, there are enhanced features for _all_ bluetooth phones.

If you get the later version, there will be a blue card in the box that says, "Enhanced Features".

Once you have completed "pairing" the phone by holding down the button with the phone icon AND the Volume Up button....remember, BOTH buttons must be held down to "pair" the phone...you will then have the following enhanced features if the headset has 21B or later firmware:

..Last number redial (when not on a call)

..Rejecting an incoming call (when not on a call)

..Call-waiting (swapping between two calls)

..Putting a call on hold

If you have a voice dial enabled phone you will love that feature on the headset. I found I did _not_ have to retrain the voice entries on the headset to make outgoing calls.

Hope this helps.

Summary: 1 month with a FreeSpeak and loving it
Review: I purchased my FreeSpeak about a month ago and have been using it daily with my Nokia 6310i GSM phone.

Overall, this is a great product. I was a little hesitant when I purchased it, as this device is an "over the ear" design, and past experience with these types of devices has not been positive (I am an eyeglass wearer, and many times these devices do not "sit" well). I am happy to report that the FreeSpeak fits very well, and easily qualifies as the most comfortable headset I have ever used.

Other positives: battery life (3 hours talk and about a week on standby), voice quality (excellent up to about ten feet away from the phone, and people on the other end of the connection report near-corded quality), weight (very light--I hardly know that I have it on), and safety (no more wrapping of headset cords around the steering wheel, plus the FreeSpeak design allows you to hear out of both ears, even when it is in use, as the product does not fully block the ear canal).

One advantage to using a BlueTooth headset that I didn't think about before I purchased the product is the that, due to the fact that you can place the phone up to ten feet away from the headset, it allows you to position the phone in a location that provides better signal (like a window sill) and still use your phone. I use this feature all of the time, as cell coverage in my office is marginal, and placing the phone up on a filing cabinet vastly increases the signal quality.

The biggest negative: when I press the 'answer/hang up' button on the FreeSpeak to answer an incoming call, my Nokia phone answers the call and then immediately terminates the connection. I have sent email messages to Jabra about this but have not received a response (over a week ago).

The second biggest negative: so far, Jabra tech support is AWOL. Using the button to terminate calls works fine. Another niggling problem has to do with the phone and headset occasionally losing contact with one another, which is easily corrected by pressing the headset's 'phone' button.

Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone that is a frequent headset user (and that owns a BlueTooth compatible phone). Setup was a breeze (about 2 minutes), the device works as advertised (mostly), and the quality and comfort are exceptional.

Summary: Device didn't work
Review: I received this headset as a part of a combination promotion along with the Sony T610. First of all - trying to charge the battery was a nightmare due to the curved charging cradle. Once I finally got the headset charged, it took several tries to "pair" it with the phone. I was able to use the device on 2 calls before it dropped the last one, then I was unable to ever get it charged again. I finally returned it to Amazon with a letter asking for a replacement, but they instead only credited my account for $.99 since it was a freebie along with the phone. Very disappointed with the headset and they way Amazon handled the return.

Summary: Amazing freedom in a small package
Review: The Jabra FreeSpeak is everything I hoped it would be based on the reviews and the sales pitch. It charged quickly, fits nicely, and works great with my Sony-Ericsson T68i.

- The charger is small, fits ok, and had the device charged in only 2 hours.

- Pairing with T68i worked as described in the manual. No issues. I was using the headset within minutes after it charged.

- I find it easy to put on, not tricky at all, once you see how it should go on in the manual. I did find the gel cover to seem loose, and thought it wasn't fitting snug enough in my ear canal. But there was no noticeable impact to sound, so I think it is sitting ok.

- Very comfortable to wear, I have it on 30-40 minutes at a time during commutes, and almost forget its there when I get to my destination.

- Sound quality is great, callers have commented they hear me perfectly, though there is a small background hiss I notice when in quiet places. But certainly no major sound difference from using the phone only.

- Very convenient, works very well using the button on the Jabra to initiate voice activation with the T68i.

- There is a slight lag in connecting with T68i to accept or initiate a call as one reviewer mentioned, but it really is very slight, 1/2 second at most. I have not noticed it being much of an impact other than maybe waiting 1 breath before I start talking for voice recognition.

- Range has not been an issue, but at most I have had it arms length in car or in case on my belt. No signal loss in either situation.

Overall, very good implementation of a bluetooth headset. I would highly recommend it to anyone at least with a T68i, and needing to eliminate those "wires" while driving. It is a whole new level of cell freedom when using this!

Summary: Top quality
Review: I own an Ericsson T68i and a Nokia 3650i. I purchased the Jabra bluetooth headset being told that due to software bugs on Nokia's part, the Jabra will not work with the Nokia. Curiously the box for the Jabra stated on a blue sticker that it was compatible, although the shop owner insisted it was wrong. After purchasing, I had no problems at all. I have the headset paired to both my T68i and the 3650i. They work perfectly together and I have been enjoying problem free usage for over one week now with no hitches.

The Jabra is comfortable to wear. The only reservation I have about it is that the ear bung can easily fall off if rubbed or jolted in ones pocket or case. Other then that it's light and very adaptable to most ears and the sound quality is clear and crisp.

If you're looking to buy a bluetooth headset and want to pretend to be captain Jonathan Archer on the Enterprise, now's your chance. Go get the Jabra. It'll keep you Jabring for hours on end on your mobile phone!

Summary: Convenient and comfortable but bad sound quality
Review: This is a convenient product but I wish it had better noise cancelling. The people to whom I talk complain that they hear much of the road noise in my car. My other (wired) headsets work much better.

On the good side...this is the most comfortable headset ever.

Summary: Not bad at all...
Review: This is the second Bluetooth headset that I have used, and have tried with multiple phones, in particular the Sony Ericsson T610, and the Motorola V600, both on TMobile service.

In brief, this headset works quite well.

I find that the connection is dependant on the phone, and not just your distance, or position of the mobile phone. I find that this works much better with the Motorola-there is less noise, and the range is better. In fact, when I had the Ericsson, I stopped using the headset after a short while, as the sound quality was too poor. I revived it with the Motorola, and am glad that I did-it works much better for me. However, as great as the concept of Bluetooth headsets are, in practice, there are many glitches-no matter what, the headset detracts from the sound quality-this is especially noticeable to me with the Motorola, which has superior sound quality in general-there is a definite difference between this headset, and the wired one.

All in all, I think that this is well worth the money, and if you can put up with relatively minor annoyances, you'd got a good one. Incidentally, this is the best, by far, of the headsets that I have used-the other was a non-branded bluetooth headset-not worth it at all for the savings-get the Jabra, and save yourself $ in the long run.

Summary: Great idea but still far away from a perfect BT headset
Review: I bought the BT200 after doing some research over the net and generally it has a good rating, now it is my turn to write my experience.

Pros: great idea, comfortable on the ear, good price, voice dilaing if your phone support it, stylish, convenience, safer driving, volume button, easy to pair with your phone.

Cons: still far away from a perfect BT headset because of:
really short range I am talking less than 9 feet before the conversation gets really uncomfortable for both sides, a lot of interference. basicly you need to keep your phone in your pocket. Not small in size, I give the quality of the sound comparing to my phone 2/5. if you are not in a really quite place forget about the voice dialing and the clarity of the conversation bottoms to the ground.

I am still waiting for the perfect BT headset but I am not sure if they will come up with one soon.

Summary: Greatest accessory you can buy for your phone...
Review: Forget face plates. car chargers and all those fancy accessories... if you have a bluetooth enabled phone, you gotta have this. For one, its true freedom with wireless. I used some of the wired sets while driving and everytime the wire kept getting entagled and completely distracting me. Since i have had this, things couldnt be better. Looks cool too. Worked right out of the box.

Summary: IT WASN'T WORKING WHEN I GOT IT ! ! !
Review: I bought Sony Eicsson T 610 mobile phone along with this Jabra Bluetooh.Iwas really suprised with the price of bluetooh. It was only $29.99 with Amazon.com. However, my bluetooh arrived defective : it's not even charging, and doesn't work at all!
Moreover, my T-610 arrived unactivated. Today is 3-rd day I have it, and still it's just a good toy, I can't use it!
Not to mention that my items were almost 2 weeks delayed!
In addition to all said above, i am unable to return my Jabra Bluetooh, because on my online account it says "Shipping Soon".The fact is I was delivered 2 days ago.
I never expected something like that from Amazon.com, I was a consistent custumer till now. Now I will think twise before buing something from them.
