Summary: Do not buy this head set!
Review: I agree with the previous reviewer. I went through the
same path. Panasonic told me to send it in. People can't hear
you when you use this headset. I have the latest
Panasonic phones that are supposed to be compatible with this headset; Panasonic customer service verified that.

Too expensive and doesn't even do the job. Must admit that
I have never had a problem with any Panasonic equipment
ever, and I have quite a bit of it. So I am bummed at having
spent ~$30 and feel like it is a complete waste. I did not
want Panasonic to just replace my unit without giving me
some more data as to whether it was really defective,
or they had complaints from other customers having a
similar problem- in all fairness that would have helped.
This is not worth the cost of mailing it back in.

Summary: Great, While it worked!!
Review: I loved this headset while it worked. Fit great. Loved the mute feature. It lasted about 3 months and quit. Couldn't hear anything. Tried to take it back to retailer. Wouldn't do anything for me, said I should have bought the extended warranty. Yea, right!! On a $30 item!!

Summary: Fairly good at the beginning, died out after 9 months
Review: I paid a high price for this ($30), and after about 9 months of use, I started having problems with people not hearing me AT ALL! I thought it was the line or the phone, but after I changed that (I am looking for a better cordless), it immediately became clear the problem was with the headset. No wonder warranty is only for 90 days. I guess they do not expect them to last longer.

Having just bought a Panasonic cordless phone TGA 2224, which has much inferior sound to GE 27998GE6, I am disillusioned with Panasonic.

Why can't they make good electronics? So that we have to keep on buying them?

Everyone seems to be recommending the TCA 60, which is much cheaper.

A feature I found on a RadioShack one HS-1958, which would be nice to see elsewhere, is a gooseneck arm for the microphone, which allows you to better adjust the distance from your face without having to move it up, which prevents you from being heard.

Summary: People can hear me but I sound lousy
Review: I'm likely to return this headset.

I tried it out when calling some friends, and unanimously here were the results:

- Using just the cordless phone WITHOUT the headset: "Man, you sound great. I gotta get that phone..."
- Using the cordless phone WITH the headset: "Ugh... um... I can hear you I guess, but you sound echo'y or in a tunnel... muffled. It's okay, but the other's much better!"

As you might guess, this certainly isn't acceptable, although I suppose in a pinch it'd do when waiting on hold for a customer service person or something.

I'm hoping that there are far better, clearer options out there that don't cost me an arm and a leg!

Summary: Good luck so far, and I'm a quiet talker
Review: I've not had any problem with people hearing me yet, and I am quite used to having people tell me they can't hear me when I talk on regular phones. I've also had bad luck with other headsets, with people telling me that I'm speaking even quieter than normal.

My only complaint so far is that the volume on the earpiece doesn't go very loud, but i suspect that is a function of my phone, not the headset. To make it louder, it would have to have a built in amplifier, and that would add to the cost.

Overall, I'm pleased with this.

Summary: Good sound.
Review: In my experience, headsets need to match the phone you want to use them with. This headset works well with my Uniden phone ( PowerMax 5.8 ghz, 2 line). My voice is clear to the people I call. The volume in the ear piece is louder than with any other headset I have tried. The quality of the sound is acceptable but it lacks "richness".

This is a new unit for me and I can not address the reliability issue that other reviewers mention. I have found most headsets to be delicate and easily broken. The $16.00 dollar price at Amazon is better than full price at Office Max but it is still a dispoable item.

Summary: Not pleased
Review: Nearly everyone that my wife and I spoke with, using this headset in combination with a compatible Panasonic phone, complained that is was difficult to hear us. If you shift the mic boom all the way over in front of your mouth, it helps dramatically, but then the earpiece is just about on your temple. Called Panasonic Customer Service and did not receive any technical help. I was just given an address and told to send it in. This would require that "I" have the responsibility and cost of mailing this thing off, with a written letter explaining the problem, with no assurance that it's either a technical problem or just a poor design. Not a very conclusive response for a simple piece of technology. Bummer.

Summary: Happy with mine
Review: Normally, I don't write reviews, but I made an exception this time since my experience does not mirror the first two "1-star" ones.

I admit that I bought this headset rather hastily, ignoring these reviews. After a very frustrating and lengthy conversation on the phone, I bought this for my Panasonic KX-TS108W corded telephone knowing that it would be compatible.

This headset works just fine for me. Lately, only because of the reviews here, I've been asking everyone how they sound. Everyone tells me that they hear me perfectly and that I sound great. Thus, here is my 6-week review:

PROS:

- They sound just fine, and the microphone seems to work perfectly.

- They are also light and mostly comfy. I think the two-ear model would be more comfortable for me, however.

- The mute/volume capability works fine and sure comes in handy.

CONS:

- I wish it were more comfortable, like if the non-speaker side were padded. Perhaps the current design is the reason why it stays on my head so well! Usually I just adjust the headset a bit and I'm just fine.

Perhaps the first two reviewers were victims of a bad batch. This headset performs just as I hoped they would and are a good value. If the need came, I would not hesitate to buy another pair.

4 out of 5 stars. If they were perfectly comfortable, they would be 5 out of 5 stars.
