Summary: Slow but effective
Review: Don't be fooled by the review, it can ONLY connect up to a Max. of 36.6. Although it does work, albeit slow, very well.

Summary: It does what it says
Review: Had a small setup problem (I needed to do the security setup before it would let me hear a dialtone), otherwise I use it on my tivo and it works just fine (so far)

Summary: useable, but not good
Review: I bought one of these to use with my laptop and also as a phone extension. The quality of the sound was fair (always a low hum and static, but I could still carry on a conversation.) The modem connection was slow, as noted by other reviewers. The reason I took it back was that the phone hooked to this jack would ring 20 or 30 times a day, but no one was calling. I don't know if it was picking up stray signals or what, but I just got sick of picking up "ghost" calls.

Summary: very poor
Review: I bought this for my mother who thew away the box. I would be sending this product back because it does not work! It doesn't even have a range of 6 feet! At 5 feet it has so much noise on the modem it would not work. We then payed to put in a phone line instead, that works!

Summary: It is not a real-world product
Review: I bought this product, tried and tried. It did not work. Maybe it will work if the surrounding interference drops to zero.

Summary: A Piece of Junk
Review: I can't assess the quality of this product because it didn't work at all. I followed the instructions to the letter and heard absolutely nothing (not even a dial tone) on the remote phone. Obviously, something is sorely lacking in quality control. I am returning the device.

Summary: Easy to setup and does what it says
Review: I frankly didn't think that this product would work in my house, in that the wiring is very old as is the phone line. But it was easy to setup and worked right away. Even though I have a 56k modem I was never able to connect faster than 36 bps. With the wireless I'm getting connected between 26.4 bps and 33 bps. I'm happy with it. Still waiting for the day broadband comes to my neighborhood, though.

Summary: Going to swith to Phonex PX 441
Review: I had the same problems as the other reviewers. It worked great with my Tivo for 6 months and now has a LOT of static, and thus won't get a full cycle with my Tivo now. I'm going to replace it with the Phonex PX 441, which doesn't have any bad reviews here at Amazon and is a little less expensive.

Summary: Not bad for browsing the web
Review: I have a limited number of phone jacks in my home, and the RC930 helps out alot. Without it, I would have phone line strung everywhere. I use the RC930 for internet access for my computer upstairs. I usually connect between 33.2 and 34.6 Kbps with the units about 15 feet apart. I have had fluctuations in the speed from 19.2-37.4 Kbps depending on what I have operating at the time. It's a little slow, but not bad for surfing the web or playing some online games. I wouldn't recommend it if you download large files, and I keep a long phone cord for those purposes. If you don't mind phone cord all over the place, then I'd recommend just purchasing the extra phone cord; however, if you'd like an alternative, then the RC930 works fine. The price is way too high for what it's worth, though. This is why I only give it 3 stars.

Summary: Great for TIVO and Digital Cable
Review: I have a splitter plugged into this and use it for my tivo and digital cable nightly downloads. It works great!!
