Rating: Summary: Best System for small offices Review: Best System for small offices
We reviewed about a dozen systems to use in our small office before we got the Talkswitch 24. We were looking for s small system that could be upgraded within months, but that offered us all the benefits of a large PBX system. Not only talkswitch provided us with features only found on top of the line pbx, but it was the only such system below $1,000. Set up was extremely easy. We configured the system and had all phones working in less than 30 minutes. The online documentation is clear and very comprehensive and the system is working flawlessly. So far, the system is working great as designed.
Pros:
- Most features offered in top PBX systems.
- Easy to set up by anyone.
- Software is very user-friendly.
- Sound quality is excellent.
- No other system comes even close at this price level.
Cons:
- Very small memory card (25 minutes total). But this is upgradeable once you move to the talkswitch 48.
- Only 4 local extensions: would not work for companies with more than 4 offices.
- Only two incoming lines: enough for our needs but may not be enough for larger operations.
- No integrated music on hold - you need an outside source(although almost pbx work the same way)
- No email notification of new messages (this would be nice to add to the next upgrade)
All things considered, if you are looking for an excellent pbx system for your small or home office, there is no better value than this system. Explorart Films.
Rating: Summary: For the Home Office - This is professional Review: I know the one "con" that I've heard people say about the TalkSwitch 24 is the lack of a larger memory for voice mails. However, if you check your voice mails often at all, this is not a problem. It is particularly not a problem because you can have your voice mails automiatically transferred to where you are. For instance, when I am out of town, I have set the TalkSwitch to automatically take the message and send the voicemail to my cell phone. Usually within 1-2 hours, I have time to check my messages thus emptying out the TalkSitch voicemail. For a 2-3 person office this sytem is ideal. Any larger, and you should consider the bigger system.
TalkSwitch 24 was easy to set-up and only required minor reading of instructions to get the settings just right. I recommend it for home offices. The professional call-in for my customers is great.
One thing to know if you are hooking up 2 lines is to make sure you have your service with the phone company for the main line to roll-over to the 2nd line if the main line is in use. Otherwise, your callers will get a busy signal. It's not usually expensive. In my case, it was only $1 more per month to have this feature.
