Summary: I would never buy AT&T again
Review: I ordered one of these phones from Amazon, thinking it was a great deal. It was...a great deal of hassle! It would not charge, or function in any way, so I emailed Amazon, and they sent me a replacement. But the replacement also didn't work, having the exact same problem. I went through the symptoms with people on the manufacturer's 800# trouble shooting line, and they said I had got defective units. But two in a row is too much. Needless to say I am returning the phone.I should have stuck with my old brand, Panasonic. It just shows you get what you pay for.

Also, I must mention that I thought that the service I got from Amazon was great. They replied very quickly to my emails, and solved the problem (to the extent they could).

Summary: great phone
Review: i really like this phone. the size is small looks like an old cell phone, it fits in pocket nicely. the antennae is short making it nice for talking when sitting on sofa or high backed chair. Great clarity and range (i can talk up to about 200 feet outside of my house on the sidewalk till it goes totally out of range) Many phones do havea long range but with some the walls get in the way making the range shorter i went up to about 8 houses away from me. the battery installatin is really easy no wires to deal with just pop it in. another feature i liked was automatic answer you don't have to press phone button when picking up from the base. page is also great if you have tendency to misplace the handset. and black is nice doesnt get at dirty as white phones do. whoever said earlier they couldnt get more than 5 ft from base maybe they had a bad phone or its their area or i just live in a great area. adjustable volume was also great to a certain extent when some people u talk to speak low you can turn up the volume. but it was kinda like putting a radio to high u lose a little quality.

Summary: A very good phone
Review: I run a small hotel. As a result I am not in the office very much and am always out doing something else. The phone system installed in the hotel allows me to transfer all incoming and internal calls to a particular phone extension. As a result I get lots of calls and this phone gets lots of use. I have had many kinds of 900mghz phones in the past and for the money this one has been the best. I bought two of them at the same time so that when the battery runs out of one I start using the other. The battery lasts usually about 4 days. It has been dropped, abused and used quite a lot. The only problem I have had is breaking the belt clip. I would like to get two more belt clips but am unsure where to find them. I have been very satisfied with the phones.

Summary: This phone has a mind of its own
Review: I thought this phone was so great I had other family members buy it (BIG MISTAKE!) It's got great range and sound quality but unplug the base or start having low battery problems or a power outage and the phone quickly becomes a bad buy. It's difficult to correct the incessant beeping and even after a call to Lucent to get a new battery we still had difficulties.

There are too many other good products on the market to deal with a crazy maker like this! If you actually buy this phone you gotta be asking yourself "Do you feel lucky....well do ya?"

Summary: Consider it disposable
Review: I want to echo other reviewers' comments that the battery life for this phone is very short. Ours was low and a brief power outage apparently blew out the whole phone. We've replaced the battery but the phone appears to be quite dead. When it worked, it performed quite well (good range, excellent clarity).

Summary: wish I would have listened about battery and beeping
Review: I wish I would have listened to the reviews about low battery life and the annoying "beeping" sounds this phone constantly makes! I have had this phone for 1 week. It did have great sound and clarity; however, this morning the power went out and the phone went dead. The phone started beeping every 10-15 seconds. It was as if the phone wasn't making any kind of connection with the base. I tried all of AT&T's little "fix-it's" (actually got a human on the phone), but none of them worked. Needless to say, I am sending this phone back and switching brands.

Summary: Great deal!
Review: I've used 900MHz phones in the past and been disappointed, but this one exceeds my expectations. The clarity is great, and I was surprised that I was able to use it over a hundred yards from my house. I know the literature says it can go farther, but I was still surprised. No echo or feedback of my own voice either that I'd experienced with other phones in this catagory. What are you waiting for, get one!

Summary: Disappointed. Beware!
Review: Like others, mine died when its internal recharger soon refused to recharge its battery. This phone worked for 1 week. I won't buy another from AT&T. I liked the small size and appearance, but not the range either. I have been using the Escort 9600 spread spectrum digital with up to a 3/4 mile range! Its even smaller; pocketable. I take it home from my office (1/2 mile away) and still receive business calls while I'm goofing off. If you live in a real small town, you don't need a cell phone with the Escort. Sound quality is good too. The AT&T wouldn't do that. You can add a basestation antenna extension on the roof if you need more distance... but few people do. So... take your chances... but realize that for this cheap a price you don't get quality control or reliability even though you might get a decent value.
