Summary: AT&T 2455... Nice idea... Poor product
Review: I like everything about the AT&T 2455 except for the way it sounds during a phone conversation. Unfortunately for AT&T, that's kind of a major function of the phone. This phone suffers from background static that ranges somewhere between a nuisance and downright annoying. The background static occurs all the time, even if you're right next to the base. In addition, it doesn't sound "natural" when you're speaking to someone on this phone. I can tell that I'm on a cordless phone when I use it. On the other hand, when I use my old 900 mhz DSS phone it sounds like a corded phone. The AT&T 2455 does not sound like a corded phone.

I could tell you about some of the other really cool features of this phone, but why bother? The main feature that you'll want to use is talking to other people on it, and it doesn't do that very well. It's really a shame, because if AT&T could improve the sound quality this would be a five star phone. ...

Summary: Nice little phone
Review: I've had this phone for a few years now, I bought it shortly after the model was released. It's a nice phone with clear sound, and I never noticed any hiss that others described.

It was important to me to have an extra charge spot for the spare battery which this unit does have.

Range on the phone is outstanding. When I first got the phone, I took it outside and walked about a block from my house before it started to cut out.

My only problem is that now after several years of use, the batteries are not holding a charge very well at all. One battery is practically dead and will not charge at all.

Now my only question is do I search around for replacement batteries, or upgrade to a 5.8 GHz model.

Summary: Watch out for quality problems with this phone
Review: Our Panasonic phone died so we bought an AT&T 9370. That was disappointing though, so we returned it and bought this one. Finally, I have found the phone that has almost all the features I want. The shape is very ergonomic, only slightly larger than a cell phone, with comfortable buttons that light up when pushed, and it stands up on a table. That is very useful since the handset operates in speakerphone mode (its most outstanding feature and something that should become standard). I have found this to be VERY useful. You don't have to have a phone stuck to your ear for those interminable holds, or be tied to a base speakerphone. The menu is easy to navigate, very intuitive, and it functions very much like a cell phone for things like names listed for memorized numbers with a scrolling list of them, or the ability to enter a number, and then get the dial tone and dial automatically (nice if you're trying to read a number out of a phone book or something). The LCD display has a nice detailed resolution. We haven't had any problem with reception or static. I can't say anything about caller ID because we don't have that.

I didn't give it five stars because it doesn't have the ability to do speakerphone at the base. I think this is important, because if the handset is away from the base, and someone else is by the base and needs to answer the phone, they can't. I think what AT&T intended was that if you used a handset away from the base, it would be an additional handset (it has the capability for four handsets total). This is backed up by the fact that you can't intercom from base to handset, or vice versa, but you can intercom from handset to specific handset or to all handsets. I think I'll have to buy another handset now!

Summary: Satisified!
Review: purchased the Answer Phone and 3 satellite units....I'm very happy with its performance. I read the other reviews and was surprised to see the problems that they are having. I found the 2401 battery easy to find....and haven't had any problems with any of the phones. I especially find the speakerphone on the hand sets very useful. I'm using that feature frequently when put on hold....I 've used other brands and have found that I always return to AT&T.

Summary: a good phone, if only you could find a battery
Review: the battery for this phone 2401, sku 91077 is very difficult to find as of 6/01. i'd wait until they become available - anywhere. the phone is for a desk only, not a wall mount. otherwise an excellent phone.

Summary: Beautiful but unusable
Review: This is a beautiful phone with a great feature set; unfortunately, the constant static between the handset and the base makes it unusable. I too had to return mine.

Summary: A worthless entry in the 2.4Ghz Cordless Market
Review: This phone has lots of great features and I was able to get a great deal on it. Too bad for me, because the unit is absolutely worthless. Complaints about static in other reviews are valid. My range for the unit is useless. It is MUCH worse than any other 900 Mhz phone in my house. I'm returning it and the two handsets I purchased separately. Don't waste your time with this phone.

Summary: works well for us
Review: We have had good reception with it. The sound quality is fine and the answering machine works well. I purchased after my panasonic 2.4 gig decided that all my calls were out of range even when I was standing 1' from the base a short 12 mo. after buying it. The at&t has been more reliable.
